The current main algorithms for data consistency in distributed database are the message queue, transaction control and copy control algorithm. This paper analyzes their merits and demerits and intergrates and synthesizes all the thoughts of the primary copy, the message queue, the transaction control, the inert copy, and proposes a new data consistency algorithm based on primary copy data control in distributed database. © 2011 IEEE.

Activity instance oriented handling is a new means for vertical optimization of process cases. Unlike our previous batch processing mechanism in workflows, it focuses on the data characteristics of activity instances and utilizes explicit knowledge for planning. This paper introduces its concept and proposes activity instance pattern to model and represent the knowledge for execution optimization. A flexible and intelligent workflow enactment framework for activity instance oriented handling is also proposed and investigated. © 2011 IEEE.

It have become very difficult that users can find the best, credible web service for some proposed semantic web service discovery methods, because web service environment has become open, autonomic, dynamic, and deceptive. This paper proposes a QoS-assured trust-driven semantic web service discovery method i.e. TDSWSD. This method, firstly, describes and labels web services by ontology technology, and then makes use of the existing keyword matching method to carry basic matching;secondly, function matching will be done by ontology-based concept semantic similarity calculation method;finally, QoS-assured trust measure method will be designed to carry credible QoS matching. Compared with existing methods, the experimental results show that this method can not only automatically find the service to meet user' requirements, but also ensure the validity and reliability of service discovery.

Towards energy saving and load balancing data aggregation for wireless sensor networks

In this study, we focus on the development of energy efficient and achievable load balancing mechanisms for wireless sensor networks. Due to resource constraint and tremendous amount of sensors, one possible way of achieving maximum lifetime of the network is applying data aggregation on sensor data. However, existing approaches introduce significant computation and control overheads that often not suitable for sensor networks applications. In view of this, we propose an in-network data aggregation scheme by exploiting the inherent spatial correlation of the sensed data. Each sensor multiplies its reading with a random coefficient and sends the product to the next hop to calculate a weighted sum of all the massage. Instead of receiving individual sensor readings, the sink will receive all weighted sum and restore the original data. By doing so, each node only performs one addition and one multiplication in order to compute one weighted sum and consume the same amount of energy. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is efficient and outperforms existing schemes in terms of energy gain and network lifetime. © 2011 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

Batch processing process denotes the process used in the workflow management systems (WfMSs) supporting dynamic batch processing. During the run time of their concurrent process instances, multiple activity cases of the same type may be vertically combined together according to some batch logics and submitted for execution as a whole. Therefore, it is necessary to study the actual way process instances are executed. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to mine batch processing process from system logs. A case study is also done to illustrate its effectiveness. © 2010 IEEE.

Our previous work has preliminarily investigated the batch processing model and its implementation. To solve the problem of setting batch processing areas for the applications of batch processing in workflow, this paper proposes a method of discovering batch processing area from workflow logs. Its mining process includes phrases of mining initial workflow model, identifying batch processing feature of activity and discovering batch processing area in the initial workflow model. The result of simulation experiments shows that this method can work effectively for several different size of data sets. © 2010 IEEE.
