To begin with, this paper introduces a topic map oriented e-learning platform - Yotta. We compare the Yotta with the traditional e-learning platform Moodle from the aspects of learning resources organization, design of learning activities, learning behavior characteristics of learners, etc. Secondly, we provide two new criteria which can reflect e-learners' learning behavior using topic maps: the coverage of knowledge elements clicked by e-learners on topic maps (F);the length of time from loginning Yotta to clicking on the first useful knowledge element (T). Finally, we analyze the changes of e-learners' learning behavior and the learning efficiency on these two different e-learning platforms. The testees in the experiment are twenty-eight students learning the course of "Computer network". The experimental results show that the features as learning positivity and learning time of e-learners do not change with the type of network platforms. This discovery can further provide the nodes of our personalized recommendation to e-learners.

The frequent occurrence of natural disasters has drawn people's attention to the aftermath work, especially the effective routing of emergency vehicles carrying relief efforts. Based on the situation where some disaster hit areas can be informed in advance while could not accept emergency service, this paper introduces the disclosure date and release date to Nomadic TSP model, studies an online Nomadic TSP problem based on advanced information, and gives a lower bound. When the metric space is the real line, an ENO-dd algorithm is presented. For general metric spaces, a GTR-dd algorithm is presented. Competitive analysis is given for these two algorithms respectively. The results indicate that the more advanced information, the better these two algorithms perform. More general information structure and optimal algorithm design can be the future research.

Based on shear strength reduction finite element method, the influence of width of heel plate and toe plate, uniform load, height of retaining wall, parameters of filling on stability of cantilever retaining wall have been analyzed. It is indicated that the fractured surface is the boundary of "protected" and "unprotected" filling soil, which is essentially different with the second fractured surface of planar retaining wall. The stability of retaining wall increased with width of heel plate or toe board or distance of uniform load increased, and decreased with height of retaining wall or value uniform load of increased. It is advised to fill the retaining wall by the soil with low weight, big cohesive strength and big internal friction angle.

Frequent itemsets mining is often used to find medication law from dataset of Chinese herb prescriptions. Threshold of support count is difficult to set for traditional algorithm of frequent itemsets mining. In the meantime, the number of frequent itemsets is always so big that the result is hard to understand. Some algorithms were proposed to find significant and redundant-aware itemsets. However, the itemsets obtained could not reflect all the information in the dataset. In this paper, a new method was proposed to obtain a collection of itemsets which had the feature of significant, redundant-aware and comprehensive. Firstly, closed frequent itemsets were mined from the dataset of Chinese herbs prescriptions using CHARM algorithm. Then, the itemsets were compressed by FICMC (Frequent Itemsets Compressing based on Minimum Cover) algorithm. Medication law of Chinese herbs could be fully mined from the dataset using this method.

Brain-computer interface (BCI) controlled wheelchair robots can serve as powerful aids for severely disabled people in their daily life, especially to help them move voluntarily. In order to better understand human “thought”, owing to the development of the hybrid brain/muscle interface technique, in this paper, we present a real-time hybrid brain/muscle interface to control a wheelchair directly to keep the disables recovering several motion capabilities by using noninvasive motor imagery Electroencephalography (EEG) and Electromyography (EMG). The EMG and EEG signals from the users are extracted to control the motion of an intelligent wheelchair. Both signals processing consists of off-line training, online control evaluation, and real-time control. An algorithm called the common spatial patterns (CSP) is used in this human-robot system to extract the most discriminative spatial patterns pairs as features. The extensive experiments were conducted on the developed human-wheelchair systems to verify the proposed approaches.
