The Algorithm of Short Message Hot Topic Detection Based on Feature Association

Aiming at the mobile short message (SMS) hot topic extraction, the text features and statistical regularity of SMS are analyzed in this study. The formal description of SMS hot topic is given and an algorithm of SMS hot topic extraction based on feature association analysis is proposed. According to the proposed algorithm, feature words of SMS can be clustered into different word bags by calculating the association degree of these feature words and the hot topic can be identified by means of word bags matching. Experiments results show that the proposed algorithm can detect the hot topic in the SMS messages effectively, which is useful to the analysis of SMS popular sentiments. © 2009 Asian network for Scientific Information.

P2P technology offers a promising scalable solution for video-on-demand (VOD) service. Recent studies have found that departure misses are the major cause of server load in P2P-based VOD. Inspired by this finding, this paper addresses the design of bandwidth allocation policy to decrease departure misses and thereby reduce server load further. We first formulate the minimum departure misses problem. Then we propose a centralized algorithm which serves as our benchmark for all other schemes. The centralized algorithm makes use of surplus bandwidth to help peers prefetch chunks, thus reducing departure misses significantly. We then propose a distributed bandwidth allocation algorithm in which a stable peer with higher playback position is able to obtain a larger share of parentspsila upload bandwidth. A simple predictor is developed for stable node identification. Simulation results show that our distributed protocol outperforms traditional approach, and close to the centralized one.

Minimum changes bandwidth allocation (MCBA) is an optimal video transmission scheme resulting in the minimum number of rate changes with the minimum peak rate, which can reduce renegotiation frequency in statistical multiplexing service. The existing MCBA algorithm with searching frontiers, however, has a high computational complexity, which depressed the applicability of MCBA. In this paper, we design a fast algorithm of MCBA that examines for the bounded point based on the convex envelopes of the overflow and underflow curve. As a result, our algorithm can work out an MCBA scheme in a shorter time because we can find the bounded point with a linear complexity, and calculate each transmission rate within several iterations. The simulation using real video traces confirmed the philosophy and efficiency of our algorithm.

A 2-D numerical kinetic model considering flow velocity and adsorption is developed to simulate the bio-electro tower reactor (BETR). This new model considers the adsorbed amount when equilibrium qe as transient variable, which is superior to the old pseudo-first-order and the pseudo-second-order model which regards qe as a constant. We researched the intensifying effect of electric field upon heavy metal ions adsorption process. The calculation result fits well with the experimental data. BETR is a coupling technique;the mechanic of BETR is that outer electric field can enhance the mass transfer rate when the solute is metal ions. Two kinds of carriers, pottery ball (PB) and 3-dimensional electrode (3DE), were used to support the biofilm layer. And organic wastewater containing Zn2+ is selected as a sample to validate the model. The 3DE carriers can be polarized by outer electric field, but PB cannot. It is found that Zn2+ transfer faster in 3DE carriers than that in PB and a intensifying coefficientηis introduced to stand for this effect in BETR.

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) protocol is widely used in many network applications and P2P traffic is becoming dominating in the current Internet and may cause serious congestion. Recently, P2P applications tend to intentionally disguise their traffic flows by using arbitrary ports, which leads the accurate identification of P2P traffic to become a very difficult job and hot research topic in network traffic control. In this paper, we employ the longest common subsequence to identify the key packets from the traffic flows, and present a new method to identify the P2P flows based on the signatures of key packets with only direction and payload length in the first few packets of a flow. We test the new method with four popular P2P applications in the actual network environment and the results show that the new method has high accuracy and efficiency since only a few packets in each flow needs to be analyzed. The new method is suitable for real time traffic management and monitoring.

Attribute based encryption has become an active topic within the last few years, which can be regarded as a special identity based encryption integrated with flexible access structure. In this paper, we extend the concept of key encapsulation mechanisms to the attribute-based setting and proposed a key-policy attribute based key encapsulation scheme. The proposed scheme is proved to be IND-CCA2 secure in the standard model under Decisional Bilinear Diffie- Hellman assumption.

In order to achieve the access of massive highdimensional data on P2P network efficiently, we present a distributed similarity retrieval system named R-Chord using modified iDistance based on Relative Position Code (RPCID). RPCID calculates the lower bound distance between the query point and the data point using Relative Position Code (RPC). RPC is a data object encoding method based on spatial location information. A RPC area can be discarded when the lower bound distance is greater than the pruning distance. Experimental results show that RPCID can achieve better time performance and resource consumption than iDistance.

Multiview video coding is one of the key technologies in 3D video applications. However, considerable computational complexity is existed in multiview video encoding. In this paper, we propose a fast macroblock mode selection and disparity estimation algorithm. Firstly, the proposed algorithm terminates early the modes search process according to the correlation of modes in the corresponding locations of reference views. Compared with the full search method, the proposed strategy can avoid searching some unnecessary modes. Secondly, the disparity prediction is adjusted by the temporal correlation of disparity vectors. A small search range is used for disparity estimation. Finally, experimental results show that 67.42% ~ 90.06% encoding time can be saved by the proposed algorithm with an average of 0.05dB PSNR degradation compared with JMVM7.0.

We review the constructions of two main kinds of generalized cyclotomic binary sequences with length pq （the product with two distinct primes）. One is the White-generalized cyclotomic sequences, the other is the Ding-Helleseth（DH, for short）-generalized cyclotomic sequences. We present some new pseudo-random properties of DH-generalized cyclotomic sequences using the theory of character sums instead of the theory of cyclotomy, which is a conventional method for investigating generalized cyclotomic sequences.

A search for pair production of second-generation scalar leptoquarks in the final state with two muons and two jets is performed using proton-proton collision data at s=7 TeV collected by the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 34 pb−1. The number of observed events is in good agreement with the predictions from the standard model processes. An upper limit is set on the second-generation leptoquark cross section times β2 as a function of the leptoquark mass, and leptoquarks with masses below 394 GeV are excluded at a 95% confidence level for β=1, where β is the leptoquark branching fraction into a muon and a quark. These limits are the most stringent to date.
