In this paper,the sharing schemes of multicast in survivable Wavelength-Division Multi-plexed(WDM) networks are studied and the concept of Shared Risk Link Group(SRLG) is *** the network resources are shared by the backup paths,the sharing way is possible to make the backup paths *** selfishness leads the redundant hops of the backup route and a large number of primary lightpaths to share one backup *** sharing schemes,especially,the self-sharing and cross-sharing,are investigated to avoid the selfishness when computing the backup *** order to decrease the selfishness of the backup paths,it is important to make the sharing links fair to be *** is a trade-off between the self-sharing and cross-sharing,which is adjusted through simulation to adapt the sharing degree of each sharing scheme and save the network resources.

With the rapid development of the network, it is necessary to know its internal characteristics, so to design, control and manage the network. At present, network measurement is mainly deployed to acquire internal characteristics of the network and identify network topology. Network tomography technology is one of the network measurement methods. Inference of network internal link characteristics is a very important to network tomography technology. On the basis of traditional methods used to infer link delay characteristics in network tomography, we propose a new method based on Simulated Annealing constrained opt.mization to improve the precision of inference of link delay cumulant generating functions by gathering the constrained information in network. The simulation results show that with measurement error, our constrained opt.mization method infers link delay more precisely than non-constrained ones do.

A new scheduling algorithm, which aims to provide proportional and controllable QoS (Quality of Service) in terms of burst loss probability for OBS (opt.cal Burst Switching) networks, is proposed on the ba- sis of a survey of QoS schemes in current OBS networks. With simulations, performance analysis and com- parisons are carried out in detail. The results show that, in the proposed scheme, burst loss probabilities are proportional to the given factors and the control of QoS performance can be achieved with better performance. This scheme will be beneficial to the OBS network management and the tariff policy making.

Recent years have witnessed an increasing interest in using wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in many applications, including health monitoring, military and national security, environmental monitoring, and many other fields. In these applications, tiny sensors with limited energy resource are deployed and left unattended to continuously report parameters such as temperature, pressure, humidity, light, and chemical activity. Once deployed, the tiny sensor nodes are usually inaccessible to the users. Therefore, energy efficiency is an important design issue that needs to be enhanced in order to prolong the effective lifetime of a network with a limited energy supply. Clustering technique has been proven to be an effective approach for organizing wireless sensor network into a connected hierarchy. Nodes that are clustered together can easily be able to commun.cate with each other. In this paper, we describe a novel cluster formation algorithm for wireless sensor networks according to considering the energy as an opt.mization parameter while clustering is imperative. We illustrate the algorithm for clustering the sensor nodes such that each cluster (which has a cluster head) is balanced and the total energy consumption between sensor nodes and cluster heads is minimized. Balancing the clusters is needed for evenly distributed the load on an all cluster heads. This problem is modeled and then gives the solution and simulation result to it.

This paper presents an efficient algorithm, named Relative Quadrant-Based (RQ), to implement multiple multicast commun.cations in wormhole-switched mesh/torus networks. Based on concept of relative quadrants, RQ can achieve high degree of parallelism by dividing the network into several blocks and sending message copies concurrently in each block. We also studied how to decrease the increasing contentions caused by improving parallel operations. By applying adaptive unicast algorithm, RQ can decrease the delay of channel contention. By organizing the multicast trees carefully, RQ algorithm with NR (Nearest-node Rooted) strategy can decrease the delay of node contention. Simulation results indicated that RQ-NR can achieve low average delay.

A microwave patch antenna is studied with reduced patch size operating at 900MHz. The new antenna is featured with a metamaterial substrate that is made from periodic metal strips. One antenna is numerically demonstrated with a patch size of 54mm×60mm. It resonates at 898MHz with a relative bandwidth of 3.8%. The electrical patch size is only 0.16×0.18, much beyond the 0.5 limitation for a conventional patch antenna. The metamaterial antenna is shown with a very high efficiency 95.8%, even for such a small prototype. © 2021 IEEE.

Analysis of ASE noise in opt.cal fiber Raman amplifiers

In this paper, ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) noise induced by parametric gain and spontaneous Raman scattering in opt.cal fiber Raman amplifier is analyzed. Expressions regarding the generation and amplification of such kind of noise are present. Simulations are carried out on a forward WDM pumping fiber Raman amplifier and a long haul trans.ission system with multi-stage fiber Raman amplifiers. Results show that parametric gain induced ASE noise is the main part of ASE noise. Its spectrum is wider and its power is higher than those of spontaneous Raman scattering induced ASE noise. © by Fachverlag Schiele & Schön 2005.
