Corrosion Behaviour of T92 Steel in NaCl Solution

In the paper, the effects of NaCl on the corrosion behaviour of T92 steel at room temperature were studied by neutral salt spray test, electrochemical technology and scanning electron microscope. The results show that the corrosion rate of T92 steel continuously increase with the NaCl concentration during the neutral salt spray tests. NaCl promotes the anodic process rather than the cathodic process of the T92 steel in solution. In NaCl solutions with low concentrations, T92 steel undergoes uniform corrosion, wheres its corrosion behaviour will develop into pitting as the concentration of NaCl increase. The formation and development mechanism for the corrosion pitting are also discussed in the paper.

Study of Constant Current-Constant Voltage Output Wireless Charging System Based on Compound Topologies

Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology has the advantages of intelligence and facilitation. This paper designs a WPT system applied to battery charging and provides a strategy which switches from the constant current (CC) charging mode to constant voltage (CV) charging mode. The LCL-LCL topology is used to realize the CC output, while the LCL-S (series compensation) topology is used to realize the CV output. The main factor affecting the output characteristics is extracted by analyzing the two topologies above. Based on the main factor, this paper puts forward a modified way to design the system. In addition, on-line monitors for the battery and switches are placed at receiving side, which avoids the need for introducing an information interaction module into the system. Therefore, the complexity of the controlling system is reduced. Finally, simulation and experimental analyses are carried out to verify the correctness of the compound topologies.

Evolutions of guide vane moment of a pump-turbine during runaway transient process after pump trip

The collision of guide vanes with runner of a pump-turbine during transient processes is rarely seen in pumped-storage power stations, but the consequence is serous when happens. To investigate the reason of a case of such an accident, we analyse the evolution rules of guide vane moment during the runaway transient process after a pump trip of a prototype pumped-storage system by using 1D-3D method. First the histories of macro parameters such as flow rate, rotational speed and runner moment and trajectory of working condition point are given. Secondly, the difference of guide vane moment under different working conditions is analysed, and the fluctuation components are decomposed by frequency domain analysis. Finally, the main factors affecting the fluctuation of guide vane moment are obtained by comparing pulsation and flow patterns. The results show that, due to different flow structures in different working conditions, there is a significant difference in the characteristics of guide vane moment, which affects the closing and opening trend of guide vanes in different positions. In contrast, the pulsation amplitudes of guide vane moment in no-load mode are the largest, followed by the pump braking mode, and those in the turbine and pump mode are smallest. The maximum guide vane moment is smaller than the design moment of guide vane fastening device during the transient, but it reaches 85.7% of the design value.

Microstructural properties have been examined to investigate the effect of mineral admixtures on the sulfate resistance of concrete. Concrete and cement paste specimens made with ordinary Portland cement (OPC) or ordinary Portland cement incorporating 20% fly ash (FA) or 30% ground blast furnace slag (GBFS), were made and exposed to 250 cycles of the cyclic sulfate environment. Microstructural and Microanalytical study was conducted by means of x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP). Results indicate that the pore structure of concrete after sulfate exposure possesses the fractal feature. The OPC concrete presents more complex pore internal surface, higher porosity and less micro-pores than the concrete incorporating fly ash and GBFS. Portlandite in OPC concrete and OPC-FA concrete is mainly converted to gypsum;while for OPC-GBFS concrete, both gypsum and ettringite are formed. In the cyclic sulfate environment, repeated hydration and dehydration of sulfates produce the expansive stress in pores, aggravating the demolishment of concrete structure.

Northeast China has rich wind resources, while in the area where residential heating supply is mainly provided by combined heat and power (CHP) units, the curtailment of wind power is a serious problem in winter since the peak regulation capacity of CHP units is restricted by the demand for heat. The urban district heating (DH) system and residential buildings have huge heat storage capacities. To take full advantage of their heat storage capacity to improve the operational flexibility of CHP units, this paper explored the thermal dynamic of residential buildings. Basing on that, it explored the feasibility of regulating CHP units to increase the wind power integration. A first principle dynamic model of residential building was built in sub-station level of DH system, and then field test data of two districts in Changchun city were used to verify this model. The results showed that the model could simulate the dynamic of indoor temperature of buildings quite well when the heat supply and outdoor temperature changed. The influence of various heating supply scheduling modes on indoor temperature was finally compared basing on this model under typical outdoor temperature of winter. The results demonstrate the feasibility of future optimal scheduling of CHP units basing on thermal characteristics of residential buildings. Copyright © 2017, AIDIC Servizi S.r.l.

Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM) is a typical inspection method in the semiconductor IC manufacturing industry. Because the die thickness is a key parameter for SIM card, a new method to measure the internal die thickness of SIM card is proposed with SAM's reflective scanning mode. Using this method the internal die thickness of SIM card can be accurately measured without introducing any damages to SIM card. The thickness model and methodology based on the SAM signals have been established. The model was properly verified and calibrated by two real test cases.

Metering technology is one of the core technologies of the smart power grid. The overall metering solution and related products have a wide market space in the whole process of power production, which bring new opportunities for power distribution development from automation to intelligentialize, and provide technical supports for the power metering system platform. Because of the importance of metering products and their market demand, this paper focuses on the design of a simple power metering chip with low-cost, low-precision and non-invasive, so as to lay the foundation for the development and practical technology accumulation of power metering products. The design achieves low cost by reducing the acquisition accuracy, simplifying the collection and sampling methods. This paper studies the chip accuracy, sampling methods, collection methods, and the inference of the chip characteristics requirements.
