In order to meet the requirements of UHV transmission and ultra-large capacity, Safety and reliability, developing a new type of high voltage and low cost insulation material has been the key problem in the development of UHV transmission equipment. In this paper, the dielectric properties of a new polymer cement concrete insulation material have been studied. The component and the manufacture process of PCC insulations have been optimized and the samples have been made. Breakdown test, volume resistivity, dielectric spectroscopy and space charge measurement have been used to study its dielectric properties. As shown in the test results, the breakdown strength of the PCC insulations can reach up to 11 kV/mm, its volume resistivity is around 10(12)***. Its permittivity decreases with the frequency and the dielectric loss can reach a peak value upon 1 Hz and then starts to decrease. As seen from the space charge measurement results, homocharge can be found in the vicinity of the electrode and heterocharge accumulates in the middle region and the total amount of the accumulated charge increases with time.

Phase equilibria of the Ni-Sb-Zn system at 600 °C

The phase equilibria of the Ni-Sb-Zn ternary system at 600 degrees C have been experimentally investigated using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy/wavelength dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Four ternary compounds, NiSbZn (tau(1)), Ni2SbZn2 (tau(2)), Ni3Sb2Zn (tau(3)) and Ni4.6SbZn (tau(4)), were identified and thirteen three-phase regions were confirmed in the present work. Moreover, the maximum solubilities of Zn in NiSb and NiSb2 were determined to be 2.0 and 1.0 at.% at 600 degrees C, respectively;and those of Sb in beta(1) and gamma were measured up to 11.8 and 5.3 at.%, respectively.

A novel cantilever array sensor was microfabricated for precise bio-marker detection. The device was fabricated on a SOl wafer with CMOS compatible processes. In order to reducing the effect of k variation due to adsorption, a local biochemical reaction cavity was designed in the free end of the cantilever, the antibody-immobilization was performed in this local area by micro printing technology. This approach can be applied to enhance the performance of all the cantilever-based sensors. The PDMS package is designed to be used for the cantilever sensor which is greatly promoting the practicality of the sensor.

The aim of software safety assessment is to evaluate whether the software meets the safety requirements, and this measurement is very important to ensure and confirm the software safety. This paper presents a new software safety assessment method that is based on the combination of frequency analysis and Analytic Hierarchy Process. First, use frequency analysis method to select some appropriate assessment indicators; then use the Analytic Hierarchy Process to construct the assessment system and assign suitable weight values to indicators at all layers of system; finally rate the software safety. Through the example analysis, it is proved that this method can evaluate software safety very well.

Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM) is a typical inspection method in the semiconductor IC manufacturing industry. Because the die thickness is a key parameter for SIM card, a new method to measure the internal die thickness of SIM card is proposed with SAM's reflective scanning mode. Using this method the internal die thickness of SIM card can be accurately measured without introducing any damages to SIM card. The thickness model and methodology based on the SAM signals have been established. The model was properly verified and calibrated by two real test cases.

Highly sensitive and selective polyaniline thin-film sensors for detecting SF6 decomposition products at room temperature

Gas sensors for detecting SF6 decomposition products under partial discharge have been considered as an effective and low-cost apparatus for electrical insulation diagnosis of gas-insulated switchgear. A new gas sensor was developed using polyaniline (PANI) conducting polymers. HCl-doped PANI was successfully synthesized via in situ chemical oxidation polymerization. The formation, structure, and morphology of PANI were analyzed with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and field emission scanning electron microscopy, respectively. PANI thin films were deposited onto the substrates by drop coating. Their gas-sensing properties to H2S, SO2, SOF2, and SO2F2 were measured. The PANI sensors showed excellent sensitivity of -58% to a low concentration (10 ppm) of H2S. The plausible response and recovery mechanism of PANI thin-film sensors were also discussed. Experimental study of the phase relationships in the Al-rich corner of the Al-Si-Fe-Cr quaternary system at 700°C

The phase equilibria of the 700 degrees C isothermal section of the Al-Si-Fe-Cr quaternary system with Al fixed at 90 at.%, and the related Al-rich ternary systems, have been determined experimentally with scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometry. Eight four-phase regions and a new quaternary compound named zeta are found in the 700 degrees C isothermal section of Al-Si-Fe-Cr quaternary system. The zeta phase is found to be in equilibrium with all phases in the section including the FeAl3, tau(5), tau(6), (Si), tau(1), Al4Cr, Al45Cr7 and H phases, as well as the liquid phase.

A Comparison of SF₆ Decomposition Characteristics under Corona with Point-to-plane Electrode Defect and Spark with Floating Potential Defect

Corona and spark are two typical discharge types in gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). Studies on the SF6 decomposition characteristics under corona and spark are significant for the safe operation of the GIS. In this paper, the discharge energy/charge and SF6 decomposition products under ac corona with point-to-plane electrode defect and spark with floating potential defect were investigated under different electrode dimensions, applied voltages, SF6 gas pressures, adsorbents and moisture contents. The upper limit of the formation rates, feature extraction, and the amount of wear of the GIS were also discussed. The results show that the influences of gas pressure and moisture content on the discharge energy and SF6 decomposition products under two different defects are distinguishable. In addition, the concentration ratios of (SOF2+SO2)/(SO2F2) under corona and spark lie in the ranges, 0-1, and 1-5, respectively. The formation rates of SF6 decomposition products calculated from experimental results under corona discharge lie in the range, 0.1-5 mu moles/J. However, the formation rates under spark are usually in the range, 0.02-0.04 mu moles/J, which are far lower than that under corona. Theoretically the upper limit of the formation rates under corona and spark are estimated to be in the ranges, 67-540 mu moles/J, and 188-376 nmoles/J respectively. Besides, the concentration ratios and formation rates can be used to distinguish the discharge types and the amount of wear of the GIS can be estimated.

Due to the absence of the effective identification and coping approaches of the sympathetic inrush current, the mal-operation of differential protection may be occasionally caused by sympathetic inrush current. In order to address this issue, the features of the sympathetic inrush current and the influence of the sympathetic inrush current on the differential protection are analyzed in detail in this paper. It is discovered that the second harmonic phase angle difference between the inrush current and the sympathetic inrush current are nearly 180 degrees. Based on this, an identification and coping approaches for the sympathetic inrush current utilizing the information sharing between the smart substations is proposed in this paper. The effectiveness of this method is validated by the digital simulation and dynamic model experiment.
