Renewable energy sources exhibit significant variability and uncertainty, showing numerous distinct scenarios. In the context of generation planning, it's imperative to employ scenario reduction techniques to select representative scenarios that capture the characteristics of renewable energy outputs. However, traditional scenario reduction methods often fail to adequately preserve the extreme output scenarios of these renewables. This paper improves the simultaneous backward reduction method (SBR), enhancing its capability to effectively capture the extreme output scenarios of renewable sources. As a result, the generation planning becomes more economically viable and more reliable. The efficacy of the improved SBR method is demonstrated using data from the Qinhuangdao region in China.

Data collection and analysis of traditional power systems will be a huge challenge. In order to meet the actual needs of multi-scenario, multi-service, and changeable measurement and control objects of intelligent distribution network, this paper firstly studies the design of general terminal open architecture for distribution network multi-measurement and control scenarios, proposes a data service architecture based on open architecture, and establishes a self-description-based open architecture design. Along with the power fluctuation and other problems caused by large-scale grid connection of renewable energy, electrochemical energy storage has been widely concerned by researchers. Firstly, the technical characteristics and application scenarios of important electrochemical energy storage are summarized in this paper. Then the analysis focus on the evaluation indexes of the economic and social benefits of electrochemical energy storage on the generation side, grid side and user side. Finally, in order to adapt to the landing of carbon peaking and carbon neutral targets, and combined with the implementation of time-sharing tariffs, energy storage planning problems that need further in-depth research are proposed in view of the shortcomings in existing energy storage planning studies, which are of great significance for improving the adaptability of subsequent energy storage planning studies.
