A quantum digital signature (QDS) is utilized to authenticate classical messages and offers information theoretical security guaranteed by the laws of quantum mechanics. Focusing on signing a one-bit message, previous continuous-variable quantum digital signature (CV-QDS) protocols that shared secret keys are generated by quantum key distribution, and it is only mentioned to suitably iterate the one-bit protocol for a multibit message. Although the CV-QDS protocol is unconditionally secure while sending single-bit messages, iterating the one-bit protocol in a naive way will allow some forgery attacks. In this paper, for signing one-bit and multibit messages, a CV-QDS protocol is proposed, on the condition that nonrepudiation and no forging are guaranteed. For one-bit and multibit schemes, we compare the difference in the distribution stage and messaging stage, analyzing the security as well as summarizing some formulas for calculation. We hope the protocol with continuous variables could further improve the performance of QDS.

The question for understanding the correlation between genetic expression and diagnosis of schizophrenia patients has always been challenging. The DNA methylation can provide an effective approach to solve the problem. However, limited by the size of datasets and the high dimensionality, conventional feature selection and pattern recognition methods cause a severe overfitting phenomenon. In this paper, the DNA methylation data are analyzed to filter out the most important gene points for classification. To alleviate the negative overfitting impacts the optimization-based meta-learning i.e., the MAML algorithm, is developed to solve the multi-classification and feature selection problems. The proposed method combining MAML with attention-based mechanism is capable of conducting feature selection with fast generalization and quick adaptation for small samples. The major work lies in that the proposed model is pretrained with TCGA which can be tailored to our circumstance with priori information. To test the efficiency of the proposed algorithm, the DNA methylation data are used including homicidal schizophrenics and violent schizophrenics from some authoritative institute. Our method achieves a recognition accuracy of 91.89% (homicidal schizophrenics, schizophrenics without violent behaviors, and normal people) and 67.96% (schizophrenics with violent behaviors, schizophrenics without violent behaviors, and normal people}) respectively, which is a great improvement compared to the best-known results based on the traditional method with 82.52% and 63.76%. Furthermore, 1000 significant feature gene points are selected from more than 400 thousand feature points.

Sparse code multiple access (SCMA) is one of the most promising methods among all the non-orthogonal multiple access techniques in the future 5G communication. Compared with some other non-orthogonal multiple access techniques such as low density signature (LDS), SCMA can achieve better performance due to the shaping gain of the SCMA codewords. However, despite of the sparsity of the codewords, the decoding complexity of the current message passing algorithm (MPA) utilized by SCMA is still prohibitively high. In this paper, by exploring the lattice structure of SCMA codewords, we propose a low complexity decoding algorithm based on list sphere decoding (LSD). The LSD avoids the exhaustive search for all possible hypotheses and only considers signal within a hypersphere. As LSD can be viewed a depth-first tree search algorithm, we further propose several methods to prune the redundancy visited nodes in order to reduce the size of the search tree. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the decoding complexity substantially while the performance loss compared with the existing algorithm is negligible. TextSLAM: Visual SLAM with planar text features

— We propose to integrate text objects in man-made scenes tightly into the visual SLAM pipeline. The key idea of our novel text-based visual SLAM is to treat each detected text as a planar feature which is rich of textures and semantic meanings. The text feature is compactly represented by three parameters and integrated into visual SLAM by adopting the illumination-invariant photometric error. We also describe important details involved in implementing a full pipeline of text-based visual SLAM. To our best knowledge, this is the first visual SLAM method tightly coupled with the text features. We tested our method in both indoor and outdoor environments. The results show that with text features, the visual SLAM system becomes more robust and produces much more accurate 3D text maps that could be useful for navigation and scene understanding in robotic or augmented reality applications. Robust optical frequency transfer in a noisy urban fiber network

Optical fibers have been recognized as one of the most promising host material for high phase coherence optical frequency transfer over thousands of kilometers. In the pioneering work, the active phase noise cancellation (ANC) technique has been widely used for suppressing the fiber phase noise introduced by the environmental perturbations, in which an ideal phase detector with high resolution and unlimited detection range is needed to extract the fiber phase noise, in particular for noisy fiber links. We demonstrate the passive phase noise cancellation (PNC) technique without the need of phase detector could be preferable for noisy fiber links. To avoid the effect of the radio frequency (RF) from the time base at the local site in the conventional active or passive phase noise cancellation techniques, here we introduce a fiber-pigtailed acousto-optic modulator (AOM) with two diffraction order outputs (0 and +1 order) with properly allocating the AOM-driving frequencies allowing to cancel the time base effect. Using this technique, we demonstrate transfer of coherent light through a 260 km noisy urban fiber link. The results show the effect of the RF reference can be successfully removed. After being passively compensated, we demonstrate a fractional frequency instability of 4.9 × 10−14 at the integration time of 1 s and scales down to 10−20 level at 10,000 s in terms of modified Allan deviation over the 260 km noisy urban fiber link. The frequency uncertainty of the retrieved light after transferring through this noise-compensated fiber link relative to that of the input light achieves (0.41 ± 4.7) × 10−18. The proposed technique opens a way to a broad distribution of an ultrastable frequency reference with high coherence without any effects coming from the RF reference and enables a wide range of applications beyond metrology over fiber networks. © 2021, CC BY.

The doubly selective (DS) channel estimation in the large-scale multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems is a challenging problem due to the large number of the channel coefficients to be estimated, which requires unaffordable and prohibitive pilot overhead. In this paper, firstly we conduct the analysis about the common sparsity of the basis expansion model (BEM) coefficients among all the BEM orders and all the transmit-receive antenna pairs. Then a novel pilot pattern is proposed, which inserts the guard pilots to deal with the inter carrier interference (ICI) under the superimposed pilot pattern. Moreover, by exploiting the common sparsity of the BEM coefficients among different BEM orders and different antennas, we propose a block distributed compressive sensing (BDCS) based DS channel estimator for the large-scale MIMO systems. Its structured sparsity leads to the reduction of the pilot overhead under the premise of guaranteeing the accuracy of the estimation. Furthermore, taking consideration of the block structure, a pilot design algorithm referred to as block discrete stochastic optimization (BDSO) is proposed. It optimizes the pilot positions by reducing the coherence among different blocks of the measurement matrix. Besides, a linear smoothing method is extended to large-scale MIMO systems to improve the accuracy of the estimation. Gaussian-modulated coherent state quantum key distribution is gradually moving towards practical application. Generally, the involved scheme is based on the binary random basis choice. To improve the performance and security, we present a scheme based on a continuous random basis choice. The results show that our scheme obviously improves the performance, such as the secure communication distance. Our scheme avoids comparing the measurement basis and discarding the key bits, and it can be easily implemented with current technology. Moreover, the imperfection of the basis choice can be well removed by the known phase compensation algorithm.

Motivated by the promising benefits of dynamic Time Division Duplex (TDD), in this paper, we use a unified framework to investigate both the technical issues of applying dynamic TDD in homogeneous small cell networks (HomSCNs), and the feasibility of introducing dynamic TDD into heterogeneous networks (HetNets). First, HomSCNs are analyzed, and a small cell BS scheduler that dynamically and independently schedules DL and UL subframes is presented, such that load balancing between the DL and the UL traffic can be achieved. Moreover, the effectiveness of various inter-link interference mitigation (ILIM) schemes as well as their combinations, is systematically investigated and compared. Besides, the interesting possibility of partial interference cancellation (IC) is also explored. Second, based on the proposed schemes, the joint operation of dynamic TDD together with cell range expansion (CRE) and almost blank subframe (ABS) in HetNets is studied. In this regard, scheduling polices in small cells and an algorithm to derive the appropriate macrocell traffic off-load and ABS duty cycle under dynamic TDD operation are proposed. Moreover, the full IC and the partial IC schemes are investigated for dynamic TDD in HetNets. The well-known multi-dimensional reconciliation is an effective method used in the continuous-variable quantum key distribution in the long-distance and the low signal-to-noise-ratio *** virtual channel employed to exchange data is generally established by using a finite-dimensional rotation in the reconciliation *** this paper,we found that the finite dimension of the multi-dimensional reconciliation inevitably leads to the mismatch of the signal-to-noise-ratio between the quantum channel and the virtual channel,which may be called the finite-dimension *** an effect results in an overestimation on the secret key rate,and subsequently induces vital practical security loopholes.
