Low complexity power allocation for hybrid amplify-and-forward opportunistic relay ordering cooperation

In this paper, to enhance the robustness against link imbalance, a hybrid cooperative protocol is proposed for amplify-and-forward （AF） opportunistic cooperation, where opportunistic relaying and multi-hop cooperation with relay ordering （RO） are dynamically selected to maximize the end to end signal-noise ratio （SNR）, and the power allocation coefficient is optimized under total power constraint accordingly. Furthermore, a suboptimum allocation scheme with low complexity is proposed by employing the upper bound of harmonic mean. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms conventional AF opportunistic cooperation in variety of line type topology. Moreover, the efficiency of the proposed suboptimum allocation is also validated in large SNR region.

Interference aware routing for mobile ad hoc networks based on node's sending and receiving capabilities

How to efficiently build routes among nodes is increasing important for mobile ad hoc networks （MANETs）. This paper puts forward an interference aware routing protocol called Interference aware cross layer routing protocol （IA-CLR） for MANETs based on the IEEE 802.11 medium access layer （MAC）. By defining the node＇s sending and receiving capabilities, IA-CLR can indicate the interference strength of the link in a real and comprehensive way. Further more, in order to choose the route with minimum bottleneck link interference, a new routing metric is proposed by combining the MAC layer and the network layer for cross layer design. Simulation results show that IA-CLR can significantly improve the performances of network such as the average end-to-end delay, the packets loss ratio and the throughput.

The Lorentzian hard thresholding pursuit algorithm is proposed in this paper to achieve efficient reconstruction for compressed sensing in the presence of impulsive noise. In the Lorentzian hard thresholding pursuit algorithm, the minimum LL2 norm problem is solved with respect to a support which is obtained through the hard thresholding operator. The convergence and reconstruction performance of the Lorentzian hard thresholding pursuit algorithm is proved in theory in this paper. Experimental results show that the reconstruction performance of the Lorentizian hard thresholding pursuit algorithm is superior to the Lorentzian iterative hard thresholding algorithm which is also an effective algorithm for sparse reconstruction of compressed sensing in the impulsive noise environment. © 2014 IEEE.

Spectrum sensing in a wideband regime for cognitive radio network (CRN) faces considerably technical challenge due to the constraints on ADCs, especially in the presence of primary user emulation attack (PUEA) where some malicious users try to impersonate the primary user (PU) to prevent other secondary users (SUs) from accessing the idle spectrum. To address this issue, an eigenvalue-based compressive wideband spectrum sensing (ECWSS) scheme is proposed in this paper. ECWSS directly utilizes the compressive measurements based on compressive sampling (CS) theory to perform wideband spectrum sensing without requiring signal recovery. In ECWSS, the sensors around a SU carry out compressive sampling at the sub- Nyquist rate instead of the SU. Furthermore, the exact probability density function of extreme eigenvalues is used to set the threshold. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that compared to the traditional sensing scheme, ECWSS has better detection performance and is more robust in the existence of PUEA.

This paper studies an interference coordination method by means of spectrum allocation in Long-Term Evolution (LTE) multi-cell scenario that comprises of macrocells and femtocells. The purpose is to maximize the total throughput of femtocells while ensuring the Signal-to-Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) of the edge macro mobile stations (mMSs) and the edge femtocell Mobile Stations (fMSs). A new spectrum allocation algorithm based on graph theory is proposed to reduce the interference. Firstly, the ratio of Resource Blocks (RBs) that mMSs occupy is obtained by genetic algorithm. Then, after considering the impact of the macro Base Stations (mBSs) and small scale fading to the fMS on different RBs, multi-interference graphs are established and the spectrum is allocated dynamically. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can meet the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of the mMSs. It can strike a balance between the edge fMSs' throughput and the whole fMSs' throughput.

Device-to-Device (D2D) communication has been proposed to be a promising data offloading solution in the coming big data age, with multimedia dominating the digital contents. As quality of experience (QoE) is the major determining factor in the success of new multimedia applications, we novelly propose a QoE-driven cooperative content dissemination (QeCS) scheme in the paper. Specifically, all the users predict the QoE of the potential connections characterized by mean opinion score (MOS) and send the results to the content provider (CP). Then CP formulates a weighted oriented graph based on the network topology and MOS of each potential connection. By factorizing the graph, the content dissemination fashion is established through seeking 1-factor with the maximum weight thus achieving maximum total user MOS.

An improved outdoor camera calibration method based on Extended Kalman Filter(EKF) is proposed in this paper. GPS coordinate system is introduced to establish world coordinate system in the calibration procedure. According to the characteristics of GPS coordinate converted to plane coordinate and the camera calibration model, we establish the mapping relations of reference points between image plane coordinate and the world coordinate. Further, we consider the world coordinate error, set the world coordinates as the measure quantities, use the method of EKF to get the optimal estimation of intrinsic and extrinsic camera parameters, in EKF the camera's intrinsic and extrinsic parameters are set as state variables, the transformation equations of image coordinate to the world coordinate are set as the measurement equations, and we let the observed feature points' image coordinates and corresponding world coordinates as the input of the filter. Experimental results confirmed that the proposed method with high precision.

Cross-layer design of routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) has become a hot research topic in recent years. By integrating physical layer, MAC layer and network layer together for cross-layer design, a cross-layer routing protocol called MIR is proposed in this paper. Via predicting the duration of the interference imposed by the neighbors at every hop along the route, a new routing metric is presented which guarantees that the established routes will not break frequently while having the minimum interference. Simulation results show that MIR can significantly improve the network performance. © 2013 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

In this paper, a new fast encoding scheme using CU depth information for quality scalable HEVC was proposed. The proposed scheme based on the correlation between the base layer and enhancement layer, as well as the correlation between current frame and reference frame, which obtained by experiment. The main idea of the algorithm is that when each LCU is encoded in enhancement layer, it's corresponding encoded LCU's best coding depth in base layer is used as the new maximum encoding depth in enhancement layer, thereby, it can reduce the unnecessary CU division process then reduce the computational complexity. On the other hand, for base layer, when each LCU encoding in current frame, the corresponding LCU's depth in already coded reference frame is utilized to skip parts process of mode selection before reach this reference depth, so that the computational complexity can be reduced again. Experimental results show that compared with the original SHM5.1, our proposed method saves about 59.45% and 67.71% encoding time in whole encoding layers and enhancement layer respectively, with a negligible decrease in PSNR of 0.014 dB and bitrate increase of 0.46% in EL, as well as PSNR of 0.05 dB and bitrate increase of 1.15% in BL averagely.
