Traditional machine learning follows a close-set assumption that the training and test set share the same lab.l space. While in many practical scenarios, it is inevitable that some test samples belong to unknown classes (open-set). To fix this issue, Open-Set Recognition (OSR), whose goal is to make correct predictions on both close-set samples and open-set samples, has attracted rising attention. In this direction, the vast majority of literature focuses on the pattern of open-set samples. However, how to evaluate model performance in this challenging task is still unsolved. In this paper, a systematic analysis reveals that most existing metrics are essentially inconsistent with the aforementioned goal of OSR: (1) For metrics extended from close-set classification, such as Open-set F-score, Youden’s index, and Normalized Accuracy, a poor open-set prediction can escape from a low performance score with a superior close-set prediction. (2) Novelty detection AUC, which measures the ranking performance between close-set and open-set samples, ignores the close-set performance. To fix these issues, we propose a novel metric named OpenAUC. Compared with existing metrics, OpenAUC enjoys a concise pairwise formulation that evaluates open-set performance and close-set performance in a coupling manner. Further analysis shows that OpenAUC is free from the aforementioned inconsistency properties. Finally, an end-to-end learning method is proposed to minimize the OpenAUC risk, and the experimental results on popular benchmark datasets speak to its effectiveness. Existing Lexical Punctuation Prediction methods are mainly trained on the standard clean data while losing the generalization in practical automatic speech recognition (ASR) system with ubiquitous transcription errors. To bridge the gap between clean training data and noisy testing data, we propose three random (3R) data augmentation strategies: random word deletion (RWD), random word substitution (RWS), and random phoneme edition (RPE) in both word and phoneme levels on the training dataset. Specifically, we contribute an acoustically similar vocabulary with phoneme level editions for acoustically similar word substitution. In addition, we first introduce the RoBERTa-large model into a punctuation prediction task to capture the semantics and the long-distance dependencies in language. Extensive experiments on the English dataset IWSLT2011 yield to a new state-of-the-art comparing to the prevalent punctuation prediction methods.

Separable reversible data hiding based on MSB prediction for encrypted 3D mesh models?

Reversible data hiding in encrypted domain (RDH-ED) has received tremendous attention from the research community because data can be embedded into cover media without exposing it to the third party data hider and the cover media can be losslessly recovered after the extraction of the embedded data. Although, in recent years, exten- sive studies have been carried out about images based RDH-ED, little attention is paid to RDH-ED in 3D mesh models due to its complex data structure and irregular geometry. We propose a separable RDH-ED method for 3D mesh models based on MSB (most significant bit) predic- tion. Firstly, we divide all the vertices of the mesh into the "embedded" set and "reference" set according to topological information between ver- tices, and calculate the MSB prediction errors for the vertices of the "em- bedded" set. Then, bit-stream encryption is used to encrypt the mesh. Finally, data is embedded by replacing the MSB of the encrypted vertex coordinates of the "embedded" set by the additional data bits. Recipient with data hiding key can correctly extract the additional data from the marked encrypted mesh. Recipient with encryption key can recover the mesh perfectly by using MSB prediction. Experimental results show that the proposed method has higher embedding capacity and higher quality of the recovered meshes compared to the existing RDH-ED method for 3D meshes based on symmetric encryption. In this paper, a novel wideband dual-band magneto-electric dipole antenna with modified feed structure is proposed. Double-layer patches are utilized to design a pair of folding metal. The double-layer patches dipole can generate two resonant frequencies, which are employed to form a dual-band magneto-electric dipole antenna. A stair-shaped feeding strip with a hexagonal structure is designed to modify the impedance matching. It is found from simulated results that two operation bands with bandwidths of 60% from 1.61 to 2.99 GHz and 31.9% from 4.99 to 6.89 GHz under the return loss level of 10 dB were achieved. The gain of the antenna ranged from 7.56 to 10.56 dBi. Furthermore, low cross-polarization level and low back-radiation are also obtained with the proposed antenna. © 2018 IEEE.

A wideband dual-polarized magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna is proposed for 2G/3G/LTE/WiMAX applications. It also applies to 5G (3.3-3.6 GHz). The proposed antenna has Γ-shaped feeding strips to impart a wide impedance bandwidth for it special structure, and a rectangular box-shaped reflector to enhance its stability in radiation patterns and high gain over the operating frequencies. The simulated results show a common impedance bandwidth is 81.2% with standing-wave ratio (SWR) ≤ 1.5 from 1.58 to 3.74 GHz, port-to-port isolation is large than 25dB within the bandwidth. The simulated antenna gains vary from 8 to 10.7 dBi and from 8.2 to 10.6 dBi for port 1 and port 2, respectively. The antenna has nearly symmetrical radiation patterns with low back lobe radiation both in horizontal and vertical planes, and broadside radiation patterns with narrow beam can be also obtained. © 2018 IEEE.

Multiple reconstruction compression framework based on PNG image

It is shown that neural networks (NNs) achieve excellent performances in image compression and reconstruction. However, there are still many shortcomings in the practical application, which eventually lead to the loss of neural network image processing ability. Based on this, this paper proposes a joint framework based on neural network and zoom compression. The framework first encodes the incoming PNG or JPEG image information, and then the image is converted into binary input decoder to reconstruct the intermediate state image, next we import the intermediate state image into the zooming compressor and re-pressurize it, and reconstruct the final image. From the experimental results, this method can better process the digital image and suppress the reverse expansion problem, and the compression effect can be improved by 4 to 10 times as much as that of using RNN alone, showing better ability in application. In this paper, the method is transmitted over a digital image, the effect is far better than the existing compression method alone, the Human visual system can not feel the change of the effect. Vehicle Re-identification(Re-ID) refers to the task of matching a specific vehicle across multiple non-overlapping cameras. Precise vehicle Re-ID suffers from two main challenges: (1) different vehicle identities with a similar appearance of the same type have a subtle inter-instance discrepancy, (2) one vehicle usually has large intra-instance differences due to viewpoint and illumination variations. To address these challenges, in this paper, we proposed an Attention-based Framework for Vehicle Re-ID named AFVR, which combines the benefits of both the cross-entropy loss function and the triplet loss function. Experimental results on two popular vehicle Re-ID benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method, compared with the state of the arts. © 2019 IEEE.

New Framework for Code-Mapping-based Reversible Data Hiding in JPEG Images

Code mapping (CM) is an efficient technique for reversible data hiding (RDH) in JPEG images, which embeds data by constructing a mapping relationship between the used and unused codes in the JPEG bitstream. This study presents a new framework for designing a CM-based RDH method. First, a new code mapping strategy is proposed to suppress file size expansion and improve applicability. Based on our proposed strategy, the mapped codes are redefined by creating a new Huffman table rather than selecting them from the unused codes in the original Huffman table. The critical issue of designing the CM-based RDH method, that is, constructing code mapping, is converted into a combinatorial optimization problem. This study proposes a novel CM-based RDH method that utilizes a genetic algorithm (GA). The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a high embedding capacity with no signal distortion while suppressing file size expansion. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Sentence alignment, as one of the most active and fundamental tasks in the field of natural language processing (NLP), is usually realized in two categories of methods. One is traditional methods which are firstly proposed, the other, which are adopted later, is based on the Neural Network method. Presently, under the limitation that the existing mainstream data corpora are mostly in the form of 1-to-1, the alignment models with relatively good performance mainly apply to the cases of 1-to-1 sentence alignment. However, under the circumstance that a sentence contains too much information, 1-to-N sentence alignment can actually have a better effect on sentence translation tasks, compared with the 1-to-1 form, since it is more flexible and can reduce the complexity of the original sentence. As a result, we attempt to exploit neural networks with relatively good performance in the cases of 1-to-1 to fit in the cases of 1-to-N. In this paper, a novel 1-N Bilingual word Embedding with Sentence Combination CNN Improved Framework (1-NBESCC) is proposed in order to align 1-to-N sentences more precisely. Experiments show that our proposed model performs as good as the traditional methods such as BLEUALIGN in 1-to-1 situation, but much better in 1-to-N situation.

Design of Filtering Power Divider with Wide Stopband Based on QMSIW

A miniaturized filtering power divider with wide stopband based on quarter-mode substrate integrated waveguide (QMSIW) is proposed. The physical size of the QMSIW is reduced by 3/4 comparing with the traditional SIW structure, which can achieve miniaturization, and its electromagnetic field distribution has little effect. Using the metal interference column and the etched U-shaped groove to adjust the resonance frequency, so that the main mode and the first higher mode form a passband, meanwhile, suppressing the second higher mode. The simulation results show that the center frequency is 4.42 GHz with insertion loss of 0.45 dB, the 3-dB bandwidth is 4.12-4.63 GHz with a fractional bandwidths of 9.7%, and there is a great stopband up to 11 GHz with 15 dB rejection level. Besides, the return loss of passband is better than 17.5 dB. To verify the validity of this design, a prototype is fabricated and measured. The measured results demonstrate that it has a good agreement with the design simulations.
