In this paper, an extended Kendall model for the priority scheduling input-line group output with multi-channel in Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) exchange system is proposed and then the mean method is used to model mathematically the non-typical non-anticipative PRiority service (PR) model. Compared with the typical and non-anticipative PR model, it expresses the characteristics of the priority scheduling input-line group output with multi-channel in ATM exchange system. The simulation experiment shows that this model can improve the HOL block and the performance of input-queued ATM switch network dramatically. This model has a better developing prospect in ATM exchange system.

Wood widely existed in municipal solid waste (MSW) was pyrolyzed and gasified in fluidized beds to research its reactive characteristics and mechanism. Products from pyrolysis and gasification was analyzed at different excessive air ratio (0-0.8) or temperature (400∼700°C) in fluidized beds. Optimal tar product from fluidized bed pyrolysis furnace with the yield about 38% of feedstock was obtained as temperature of 500°C. Wood gasification in fluidized beds is most suitable at temperature of 600°C and excess air ratio of 0.4. Under this condition, the efficiency of gasification is about 73%, LHV of syngas is about 5800 kJ/Nm3 and its yield is about 2.01 Nm3/kg. Then mechanisms of pyrolysis and gasification are proposed. It is expected to provide some basic data and reference for MSW/wood gasification.

Signalling layout design is one of the keys to railway operations with fixed-block signalling system and it also carries direct effect on overall train efficiency and safety. Based on an analysis to system objectives, this paper presents an optimisation model with two objectives in order to devise an efficient signalling layout scheme. Taking into account the present railway line design practices in China, the paper describes steps of the computer-based signalling layout optimisation with real-coded genetic algorithms. A computer-aided system, based on train movement simulator, has also been employed to assist the optimisation process. A case study on a practical railway line has been conducted to make comparisons between the proposed GA-based approach and the current practices. The results illustrate the improved performance of the proposed approach in reducing signal block joints and shortening minimum train service headway.

The aim of this work was to produce a nanoscale fluoridated and potassium containing hydroxyapatite via sol-gel method and to observe the effect of occlusion of the dentin tubule under scanning electron microscopy. HF was selected as fluorine-containing rengent which was added into mixed Ca ( NO3 )2-P2O5 ethanol solutions to obtain dipping sols. All of the resulting samples showed apatite structure in their X- ray diffraction pattern. The lattice parameter a and the crystallite size were calculated to demonstrate the crystalline structure of fluoridated and potassium containing HA. Extracted paired premolars were chosen to obtain a fiat surface with opened tubules. It was observed that the tubules were covered by a 10 μm layer of fluoridated and potassium containing HA under the SEM. As the experimental results show the nanoscale fluoridated and potassium containing hydroxyapatite occludes the dentin tubules.
