Nowadays, micro-video sharing platforms have become popular tools for people creating and viewing micro-videos in daily life. Micro-video recommendation task has attracted significant attention from researchers, recently. The key to a high-quality micro-video recommendation system is learning meaningful user and micro-video representations. Recently, many graph neural networks (GNNs) are proposed to learn node representations in graphs, which could be useful for recommendation tasks. However, we argue that directly utilizing existing GNNs in micro-video recommendations is ill-posed. The reasons are: (1) most previous GNNs fail to capture the heterogeneity of heterogeneous graphs since they are designed for homogeneous graphs;(2) they overemphasize node proximity and could hurt the robustness of node embeddings. In contrast to previous work, we propose a meta-path-based graph contrastive learning network (MPGCL) that learns more meaningful user and video embeddings for recommendation. Specifically, we yield homogeneous graphs for user type and video type to better capture heterogeneity based on a well-designed meta-path-based random walk strategy. Furthermore, to learn more robust node embeddings that are less sensitive to noise, we propose a graph contrastive learning network on different types of homogeneous graphs, which maximizes the consistency between graph representations with different views. We do extensive experiments on three real-world datasets and the results show that our model can learn more meaningful embeddings for user and micro-videos and outperforms the strong baselines. © 2022, The Authors. In this article, we propose a data-driven solution to the output containment control problem of multiagent systems characterized by heterogeneous and unknown dynamics. The proposed data-driven scheme is hierarchical, which includes a network layer and a physical layer, bypassing the traditional modeling exercise and eliminating the need for explicit state-space models. In the network layer, a fully distributed observer without knowing the dynamics of leaders is designed to generate a containment trajectory. A data-driven approach based on data sampled from an auxiliary system is developed to overcome the dependence on the explicit state-space models for design of control gains. This paves the way for deriving a datadriven solution to the regulator equation, which is derived by employing the data informativity condition and relevant data in the physical layer. The results demonstrate that the closedloop system is asymptotically stable, and the regulated output containment converges to zero. Compared to generic modelbased hierarchical schemes, the assumptions that the system matrices are completely known and homogeneous on system dynamics can be relaxed. © 2024 IEEE.

Video super-resolution (VSR) on mobile devices aims to restore high-resolution frames from their low-resolution counterparts, satisfying the requirements of performance, FLOPs and latency. On one hand, partial feature processing, as a classic and acknowledged strategy, is developed in current studies to reach an appropriate trade-off between FLOPs and accuracy. However, the splitting of partial feature processing strategy are usually performed in a blind manner, thereby reducing the computational efficiency and performance gains. On the other hand, current methods for mobile platforms primarily treat VSR as an extension of single-image super-resolution to reduce model calculation and inference latency. However, lacking inter-frame information interaction in current methods results in a suboptimal latency and accuracy trade-off. To this end, we propose a novel architecture, termed Feature Aggregating Network with Inter-frame Interaction (FANI), a lightweight yet considering frame-wise correlation VSR network, which could achieve real-time inference while maintaining superior performance. Our FANI accepts adjacent multi-frame low-resolution images as input and generally consists of several fully-connection-embedded modules, i.e., Multi-stage Partial Feature Distillation (MPFD) for capturing multi-level feature representations. Moreover, considering the importance of inter-frame alignment, we further employ a tiny Attention-based Frame Alignment (AFA) module to promote inter-frame information flow and aggregation efficiently. Extensive experiments on the well-known dataset and real-world mobile device demonstrate the superiority of our proposed FANI, which means that our FANI could be well adapted to mobile devices and produce visually pleasing results.

Dynamic objects diversify the distribution of point cloud in the map, degrading the performance of the robotic downstream tasks. To address this problem, we present a novel real-time dynamic instance-aware static mapping framework called DynaInsRemover, which exploits the geometric discrepancies between instances to efficiently remove dynamic objects and preserve more details of static map. It contains the Instance Occupancy Check module for initial dynamic instance proposal and the Instance Belief Update module for reverting false positives. We quantitatively evaluate our approach performance on the SemanticKITTI dataset and validate it in a real-world environment. Experimental evaluations show that our method achieves very promising results in dynamic environments. The implementation of our method is availab.e as open source at: https://***/Zhaohuanfeng/***.

Deep learning methods have shown significant performance in medical image analysis tasks. However, they generally act like ”black box” without explanations in both feature extraction and decision processes, leading to lack of clinical insights and high risk assessments. To aid deep learning in envisioning diseases with visual clues, we propose Representation Group-Disentangling Network (RGD-Net), which can completely disentangle feature space of input X-ray images into several independent feature groups, each corresponding to a specific disease. Taking several semantically related and lab.led X-ray images as input, RGD-Net firstly extracts completely group-disentangled representations of diseases through Group-Disentangle Module, which applies group-swap and linking operations to construct latent space by enforcing semantic consistency of attributes. To prevent learning degenerate representations defined as shortcut problem, we further introduce adversarial constricts on mapping from features to diseases, thus avoiding model collapse with former free-form disentanglement. Experiments on chestxray-14 and ChestXpert datasets demonstrate that RGD-Net are effective in predicting diseases with remarkable advantages, which leverage potential factors contributing to different diseases, thus enhancing interpretability in working patterns of deep learning methods.

Bilingual lexicon induction (BLI) can transfer knowledgefrom well- to under- resourced language, and has been widelyapplied to various NLP tasks. Recent work on BLI is projection-based that learns a mapping to connect source and target embedding spaces, with the isomorphism assumption. Unfortunately, the isomorphism assumption doesn't hold gener-ally, especially in typologically distant language pairs. Moreover, without supervised signals guiding, the training will further com-plicates BLI, making the performance of unsupervised methods unsatisfactory. To broke the restrict of isomorphism, we propose a semi-supervised method for distant BLI tasks, named A Semi-supervised Bilingual Lexicon Induction method in Latent Space based on Bidirectional Adversarial Model. First, two latent spaces are learned by two autoencoders for source and target domain independently to weaken the constraint of isomorphism in the embedding spaces. Then we add a few pairs of dictionary to learn the initial mapping to connect the Latent Space. Last, based on initial mapping, Cycle-Consistency is combined with Distance constraint constraint to maintain the geometry structure of both embedding spaces stable in the learning of bi-direction mapping based on adversarial model. By conducting extensive experiments, our method gets state-of-the-art results on most language pairs, especially with significant improvements on distant language pairs.

Beam tracking is crucial for maintaining stable data transmission in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications. However, a communication link can be disrupted by frequent switching of narrow beams between a base station and a UAV at certain moments. In this study, we propose a position prediction-based beam tracking algorithm with adaptive beam reconstruction (PPBT-AR) for high-speed UAV. Specifically, long short-term memory (LSTM) recurrent neural networks are utilized to predict the nonlinear flight trajectory during high-speed flight. Moreover, we employ the generative diffusion model (GDM) to jointly optimize the beam width and signal strength, thereby reducing the number of beam switches. In addition, we design an adaptive beam reconstruction (ABR) mechanism to mitigate communication interruptions caused by prediction errors. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed PPBT-AR reduces the number of beam switches by 66.6% and 76.9% in low-speed and high-speed scenarios compared to the traditional phased array beam tracking algorithm, respectively. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) shows significant values in both brain research and therapeutic applications in the treatment of various psychiatric and neurological disorders. Animal studies of TMS plays an important role in understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying TMS induced effects in the brain. This work investigated TMS in rat brain by employing conventional round coil with varied coil positions. Three dimensional distributions of induced electric field in realistic rat model were calculated by 3-D impedance method. Simulations results indicated that the conventional round coil can be applied to rat TMS with improved focality while also keeping high stimulation intensities in deep brain regions. © 2021 URSI.

Cross-modal retrieval is crucial in understanding latent correspondences across modalities. However, existing methods implicitly assume well-matched training data, which is impractical as real-world data inevitably involves imperfect alignments, i.e., noisy correspondences. Although some works explore similarity-based strategies to address such noise, they suffer from sub-optimal similarity predictions influenced by modality-exclusive information (MEI), e.g., background noise in images and abstract definitions in texts. This issue arises as MEI is not shared across modalities, thus aligning it in training can markedly mislead similarity predictions. Moreover, although intuitive, directly applying previous cross-modal disentanglement methods suffers from limited noise tolerance and disentanglement efficacy. Inspired by the robustness of information bottlenecks against noise, we introduce DisNCL, a novel information-theoretic framework for feature Disentanglement in Noisy Correspondence Learning, to adaptively balance the extraction of MII and MEI with certifiable optimal cross-modal disentanglement efficacy. DisNCL then enhances similarity predictions in modality-invariant subspace, thereby greatly boosting similarity-based alleviation strategy for noisy correspondences. Furthermore, DisNCL introduces soft matching targets to model noisy many-to-many relationships inherent in multi-modal input for noise-robust and accurate cross-modal alignment. Extensive experiments confirm DisNCL's efficacy by 2% average recall improvement. Mutual information estimation and visualization results show that DisNCL learns meaningful MII/MEI subspaces, validating our theoretical analyses. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Monitoring the extra-high-voltage transmission line corridor(EHVTLC)in mountains is critical for safe smart-grid ***,the transmission lines are so narrow that they are difficult to recognize using multispectral satellite images with a spatial resolution of 10 *** this study,we developed a new method using the red band–shadow-eliminated vegetation index(SEVI)–blue band(RSB)composite image to enhance the EHVTLC in green mountains(named RSB-enhancement method).Using this method,the EHVTLC becomes evident in the false-color synthesis of the RSB composite of the Sentinel-2 ***,we recognized and extracted approximately 342.45 km of the EHVTLC in a mountainous region of Fuzhou City,China,including a 46.73 km three-parallel-lane segment of 1000 kV and a 295.72 km two-parallel-lane segment of 500 *** analysis shows that the SEVI mean difference between the EHVTLC and the buffer zone reaches approximately 10%,and three landslides and 2.66 km^(2) soil erosion reside in the buffer zone which area is approximately 73.67 km^(2).Finally,the RSB-enhancement method can be used in other satellite images with spatial resolutions of greater than 10 m for enhancement and recognition the transmission line corridors in green mountains.
