Effective moduli of fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composites filled with nano-particle considering the effect of linear change of interphase are presented in this paper. The three-phase inclusion problem for matrix-interface-particle is equivalent to the Eshelby two-phase inclusion problem. According to the result of the Eshelby inclusion problem, the effective modulus tensor of unit cell of equivalent particle is derived. The effective moduli of equivalent matrix are given based on Mori-Tanaka method. Using two fundamental equation of micromechanic theory, the three-dimensional bridged formulation of unidirectional composites is derived. The quantitative relationship between the macroscopic elastic parameters and the structural parameters of the fiber-reinforced polymer composites filled with nano-particles is investigated. Effects of the thickness of interfacial layer, the particle size and the volume fraction of nanoparticles on the effective elastic moduli of the composites are also discussed.

This paper investigates the mechanical properties and the fire resistance of steel-polypropylene hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete. The type of the polypropylene fibers are polypropylene monofilament fiber, polypropylene fibrillated fiber, and macro polypropylene fiber, and the type of the steel fibers is hooked steel fiber. The experimental results show that the compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and flexural properties of steel-macro polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced concrete are better than any others. And the fire resistance of steel-monofilament polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced concrete is the best.

As a challenging task in the structural health monitoring (SHM) field, structural damage detection, one of most important issues of the SHM system, is mathematically converted into a constrained optimization problem, which is then hopefully solved by a swarm intelligence (SI) based algorithm proposed in this paper. The performance of the proposed algorithm is experimentally evaluated by the measured data of four damage patterns of a building model of 3-storey steel frame structure made in lab.ratory. Some illustrated results show that the proposed method is very suitable for the structural multi-damage identification, which also show that the SI-based algorithm for structural damage detection can provide an effective and robust tool in the SHM field. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Woven textile sandwich composite (WTSC) is a light-weight structural material. The manufacturing method of WTSC was introduced in the paper. To reveal the quasi-static and the dynamic crushing behavior of WTSC, out-of-plane compression tests were carried out. Low-velocity impact experiments were carried out to investigate the anti-crush ability of WTSC. The results of the quasi-static and dynamic compression tests show that the woven textile sandwich material has good energy absorption ability. From the difference of the peak loads, it is concluded that the woven textiles have strain rate sensitivity. The intact woven textile sandwich panel and the destroyed one have different anti-crush abilities. Different methods are used to enhance the anti-penetrating of the intact woven textile sandwich panels, for example, increasing the content of the glass fibers, enlarging the diameter of the glass fibers and enlarging the height of front faces and the whole panel. From the experiments, it is concluded that WTSC has light weight, great specific strength and good energy absorption ability. WTSC is a promising light-weight structural material for vehicle bodies. © 2012 IEEE.

Gas Station safety is non-linear systems that refer to many factors and multilayer. There are much flammable and explosive compressed natural gas in gas station, and it is considered as a kind of major hazard source. Therefore, the safety assessment of gas station has their special important and realistic significance. Based on the types of accident and risk factors, a new index system of safety assessment was set up. The weight of the evaluation index would be analyzed by analytic hierarchy process, and then the matrix of evaluating results could be calculated through fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. At last, the grade of safety for gas station could be obtained. This Safety Assessment Model can be applied for every gas station. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

By using observation method, the dissociation process of methane hydrate at normal temperature and pressure is studied, and it is discovered which the dissociation of methane hydrate isn't occurred synchronously at whole surface, but heterogeneous characteristic of dissociation is emerged. The dissociation rate of hydrate is slow at normal temperature and pressure, and average dissociation rate is 2.15x10-4m3·h-1. The dissociation kinetic equation of methane hydrate is proposed. It is revealed that the dissociation of methane hydrate at normal pressure is a pseudo first-order reaction. The dissociation rate coefficient of methane hydrate in different time is calculated, and the result shows that the rate coefficient is relative to reaction time, namely the dissociation kinetics of methane hydrate does not tally with the typical kinetics law, and the dissociation reaction kinetics of methane hydrate is fractal-like. Lastly, the environment effent of hydrate dissociation is also analyzed. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

Carbonate reservoirs have a significant proportion of the known petroleum reserves, with its characteristics of pores and fractures development. A series of lab.ratory testing have been performed. Using high pressure water jet cutting the artificial crack (different angles and different lengths for dolostone & limestone), in order to simulate the natural fractures. We have measured P-wave velocity and S-wave velocity on carbonate rock for original specimens and artificial crack specimens. Results from lab.ratory research are as follows: 1) as the fractures exist, P-wave velocity and S-wave velocity decreased, the fracture has more influence on S-wave velocity than P-wave velocity;2) under uniaxial compression, the curves of axial strain and the compression velocity can be divided into three stages: 3) the fracture has an important influence on mechanical parameters of carbonate rock. Increasing fracture angle and length will result in decreasing the strength parameters under uniaxial compression;4) under condition of confining pressure, P-wave velocity increases with the increasing of confining pressure. The growth rate of dolostone's P-wave velocity is larger than limestone. The research results can be used for better analysis the mechanical and acoustic wave characteristics of carbonate rock in deep drilling engineering and provide technology parameters for exploration in carbonate reservoirs. A new shift-invariant non-aliasing Ridgelet transform was presented to avoid aliasing and shift-variant in old Ridgelet transform. Firstly, image size was expanded twice via interpolating zero values,so that the sampling rate in Radon transform domain was improved and the aliasing was reduced;Secondly, the one-dimensional discrete wavelet transform in the old Ridgelet transform was replaced by one-dimensional dual-tree Complex wavelet transform(DCWT) which had both shift-invariant and double directional analysis ability. On this basis, a new image enhancement method for linear features was proposed by using zero-mean Gaussian mode in the shift-invariant non-aliasing Ridgelet transform domain. Experimental result shows that the presented Ridgelet transform can avoid effectively the 'scratch around'phenomenon in reconstructed image and the visual effects of the image enhancement is improved obviously. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Dynamic analysis of non-uniform continuous girder bridge under moving vehicle

For non-uniform continuous bridge in actual projects, the theoretical analysis and field testing of the dynamic response under moving vehicle are carried out. Firstly, Euler-Lagrange equation is applied to derive the vibration equation of three-axle vehicle. Then one obtains the dynamic analysis model by using the finite element method and the vehicle-bridge interaction equation based on the displacement coordination relationship of the contact between wheels and bridge. Lastly, numerical solutions are presented according to the dynamic response of the bridge, compared with the real values. The results show that: the roadway roughness and vehicle speed strongly influence the impact factor. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications.
