Learning-based multi-view stereo (MVS) method heavily relies on feature matching, which requires distinctive and descriptive representations. An effective solution is to apply non-local feature aggregation, e.g., Transformer. Albeit useful, these techniques introduce heavy computation overheads for MVS. Each pixel densely attends to the whole image. In contrast, we propose to constrain nonlocal feature augmentation within a pair of lines: each point only attends the corresponding pair of epipolar lines. Our idea takes inspiration from the classic epipolar geometry, which shows that one point with different depth hypotheses will be projected to the epipolar line on the other view. This constraint reduces the 2D search space into the epipolar line in stereo matching. Similarly, this suggests that the matching of MVS is to distinguish a series of points lying on the same line. Inspired by this point-toline search, we devise a line-to-point non-local augmentation strategy. We first devise an optimized searching algorithm to split the 2D feature maps into epipolar line pairs. Then, an Epipolar Transformer (ET) performs non-local feature augmentation among epipolar line pairs. We incorporate the ET into a learning-based MVS baseline, named ET-MVSNet. ET-MVSNet achieves state-of-the-art reconstruction performance on both the DTU and Tanks-and-Temples benchmark with high efficiency. Code is availab.e at https://***/TQTQliu/ET-MVSNet.

The integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid has led to new challenges in maintaining the stability of the system frequency. This paper proposes a novel approach to address the Optimal Demand Side Frequency control (ODFC) problem using Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MADDPG) method. The proposed method models the ODFC problem as a Markov game, with centralized training based on multi-agent cooperative self-learning and associative storage service. In the decentralized execution stage, each agent independently outputs control actions to the controlled plant using local observations. Numerical simulations show that the proposed method effectively addresses the ODFC problem with superior performance compared to traditional methods.

Continual learning aims to learn on a sequence of new tasks while maintaining the performance on previous tasks. Source-free domain adaptation (SFDA), which adapts a pretrained source model to a target domain, is useful in protecting the source domain data privacy. Generalized SFDA (G-SFDA) combines continual learning and SFDA to achieve outstanding performance on both the source and the target domains. This paper proposes semi-supervised G-SFDA (SSG-SFDA) for domain incremental learning, where a pre-trained source model (instead of the source data), few lab.led target data, and plenty of unlab.led target data, are availab.e. The goal is to achieve good performance on all domains. To cope with domain-ID agnostic, SSG-SFDA trains a conditional variational auto-encoder (CVAE) for each domain to learn its feature distribution, and a domain discriminator using virtual shallow features generated by CVAE to estimate the domain ID. To cope with catastrophic forgetting, SSG-SFDA uses soft domain attention to improve the sparse domain attention in G-SFDA. To cope with insufficient lab.led target data, SSG-SFDA uses MixMatch to augment the unlab.led target data and better exploit the few lab.led target data. Experiments on three datasets demonstrated the effectiveness of SSG-SFDA.

Bokeh effect transformation is a novel task in computer vision and computational photography. It aims to convert bokeh effects from one camera lens to another. To this end, we introduce a new concept of blur ratio, which represents the ratio of the blur amount of a target image to that of a source image, and propose a novel framework SBTNet based on this concept. For cat-eye simulation and lens type transformation, a two-channel coordinate map and a two-channel one-hot map are added as extra inputs. The core of the framework is a sequence of parallel FeaNets, along with a feature selection and integration strategy, which aims to transform the blur amount with arbitrary blur ratio. The effectiveness of the proposed framework is demonstrated through extensive experiments, and our solution has achieved the top LPIPS metric in NTIRE 2023 Bokeh Effect Transformation Challenge.

Dynamic Neural Radiance Field From Defocused Monocular Video

Dynamic Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) from monocular videos has recently been explored for space-time novel view synthesis and achieved excellent results. However, defocus blur caused by depth variation often occurs in video capture, compromising the quality of dynamic reconstruction because the lack of sharp details interferes with modeling temporal consistency between input views. To tackle this issue, we propose D2RF, the first dynamic NeRF method designed to restore sharp novel views from defocused monocular videos. We introduce layered Depth-of-Field (DoF) volume rendering to model the defocus blur and reconstruct a sharp NeRF supervised by defocused views. The blur model is inspired by the connection between DoF rendering and volume rendering. The opacity in volume rendering aligns with the layer visibility in DoF rendering. To execute the blurring, we modify the layered blur kernel to the ray-based kernel and employ an optimized sparse kernel to gather the input rays efficiently and render the optimized rays with our layered DoF volume rendering. We synthesize a dataset with defocused dynamic scenes for our task, and extensive experiments on our dataset show that our method outperforms existing approaches in synthesizing all-in-focus novel views from defocus blur while maintaining spatial-temporal consistency in the scene. Microgrids possess the ability to use renewable energy efficiently and play an increasingly significant role in environmental protection and sustainable development. Meanwhile, reversible solid oxide fuel cell(rSOC) is currently a new type of energy conversion and storage. Combining with microgrid systems is a great way to benefit from its high capacity, high efficiency, and cleanliness. However, r SOC's complex system of coupled heat, electricity, and gas presents a significant challenge in finding energy management strategies for microgrid applications containing rSOC. In this study, for a microgrid system combining rSOC, battery energy storage system(BESS), solar photovoltaic(PV), and wind turbine generator(WTG), we propose a model-based energy management strategy that simultaneously takes into account the economy of the microgrid system and the stability of the rSOC system. First of all, the microgrid is modeled with great detail, including the wind turbine, solar panels, battery storage system, and rSOC. In addition, the microgrid energy management problem is framed as a mathematical programming problem, with the attention focusing on the costs of BESS aging and operational energy loss of rSOC. In particular,this study also proposes a penalty strategy to reduce the power fluctuation amplitude of the rSOC system and reduce the mode switching frequency of the rSOC system. Using the solver, solving for each device's target power in a microgrid. The actual power operating curve is output by tracking the target power under slope constraints using the Simulink model. We then conduct a case study using data from Wuhan, China. Our research shows that compared with the control strategy based on rule control,the control strategy proposed in this study can reduce the power variation amplitude of the rSOC system by 79%, reduce the mode switching frequency by 85%, reduce the system operating cost by 4.5% and increase the energy self-sufficiency rate by9%.

Deep learning-based methods have shown their wide application prospects in the field of solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC)***,the irrationality of the prediction object and the lack of prediction accuracy have hindered the progress of the prediction methods for SOFC ***,two algorithms are proposed in this study,a feature selection algorithm based on maximum information coefficient and Bayesian information criterion for identifying key variables that are sensitive to changes in the SOFC system,and a prediction model based on a genetic algorithm optimized for sequence to sequence *** M/BIC algorithm reduces the number of features by 62.5%(from 40 to 15),which contributes to the acceleration of the algorithm training and the subsequent sensor layout *** prediction model incorporates a two-dimensional convolutional neural network and a multi-head attention mechanism to capture more information in the input sequence,an encoder-decoder architecture and a Gated recurrent unit to better predict performance *** with real experimental data show significant changes in feature dimensionality reduction and prediction accuracy.
