Remarkable average thermoelectric performance of the highly oriented Bi(Te,Se)-based thin films and devices

Bi(Te,Se)-based compounds have attracted lots of attention for nearly two centuries as one of the most successful commercial thermoelectric(TE)materials due to their high performance at near room *** with 3D bulks,2D thin films are more compatible with modern semiconductor technology and have unique advantages in the construction of micro-and *** device applications,high average TE performance over the entire operating temperature range is ***,highly c-axis-oriented N-type Bi(Te,Se)epitaxial thin films have been successfully prepared using the pulsed laser deposition technology by adjusting the deposition *** film deposited at~260℃demonstrate a remarkable average power factor(PFave)of~24.4 mW·cm^(-1)·K^(-2)over the tem-perature range of 305e470 K,higher than most of the state-of-the-art Bi(Te,Se)-based ***,the estimated average zT value of the film is as high as~*** then constructed thin-film TE devices by using the above oriented Bi(Te,Se)films,and the maximum output power density of the device can reach up to~30.1 W/m^(2)under the temperature difference of 40 ***,the outstanding average TE performance of the highly oriented Bi(Te,Se)thin films will have an excellent panorama of applications in semiconductor cooling and power generation.

The infinite derivative theory of gravity is a generalization of Einstein gravity with many interesting properties,but the black hole solutions in this theory are still not fully *** the paper,we concentrate on studying the charged black holes in such a *** the electromagnetic field part to the effective action,we show how the black hole solutions around the Reissner-Nordstrom metric can be solved perturbatively and *** further calculate the corresponding temperature,entropy and electrostatic potential of the black holes and verify the first law of thermodynamics.

Decay properties of D^(*)_(s0)(2317)^(+) as a conventional cs meson

Taking D^(*)_(s0)(2317)^(+)as a conventional cs meson,we calculate its dominant strong and electromagnetic decays in the framework of the Bethe-Salpeter *** results areΓ(D^(∗+)_(s0)→D^(+)_(s)π^(0))=7.83^(+1.97)_(-1.55)keV andΓ(D^(∗+)_(s0)→D^(∗+)_(s)γ)=2.55^(+0.37)_(-0.45)*** contributions of the different partial waves from the initial and final state wave functions to the decay width are also calculated,and we find that the relativistic corrections in both decay processes are very large.

Enhanced thermoelectric properties of Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)-based materials by synergistic modulation of carrier concentration and phonon scattering

Cu_(3)SbSe_(4),a copper-based sulfide free of rare earth elements,has received extensive attention in ther-moelectric ***,its low carrier concentration restricts its widespread *** this study,a microwave-assisted solution synthesis method was used to produce samples of Cu_(3)SbSe_(4),which enabled the formation of CuSe in situ and increased the *** the use of first-principles cal-culations,structural analysis,and performance evaluation,it was found that CuSe can enhance the carrier concentration and that induced nano-defects have a positive effect on reducing the lattice thermal ***,doping with Sn decreases the band gap of the system and moves the Fermi level into the valence band,increasing the carrier concentration to 1.15×10^(-20)cm^(-3).Finally,the zT value of the Cu_(3)Sb_(0.98)Sn_(0.02)Se_(4)sample was achieved at 1.05 at 623 K when the theoretical yield of a single synthesis was 10 mmol.

Energy storage performance and phase transition under high electric field in Na/Ta co-doped AgNbO_(3)ceramics

Lead-free antiferroelectric ceramics with high energy storage performance show great potential in pulsed power ***,poor breakdown strength and antiferroelectric stability are the two main drawbacks that limit the energy storage performance of antiferroelectric ***,highquality(Ag_(1-x)Na_(x))(Nb_(1-x)Ta_(x))O_(3)ceramics were prepared by the tape casting *** breakdown strength was greatly improved as a result of the high density and fine grains,while the antiferroelectric stability was enhanced owning to the M2 *** from the synergistic improvement in breakdown strength and antiferroelectric stability,(Ag_(0.80)Na_(0.20))(Nb_(0.80)Ta_(0.20))O_(3)ceramic reveals a benign energy storage performance of W_(rec)=5.8 J/cm^(3)and h=61.7%with good temperature stability,frequency stability and cycling *** is also found that the high applied electric field can promote the M2-M3 phase transition,which may provide ideas to improve the thermal stability of the energy storage performance in AgNbO_(3)-based ceramics.

Improving electrical and thermal properties synchronously via introducing CsPbBr_(3)QDs into higher manganese silicides

higher manganese silicide(HMS)is a P-type medium temperature thermoelectric(TE)material,which has attracted widespread attention over the past few decades due to its remarkable mechanical properties,excellent chemical and thermal stability,as well as the non-toxicity,abundance and competitive *** peak power factor(PF)of HMS is as high as~1.50×10^(-3)W m^(-1)K^(-2)because of its intrinsic high electrical conductivity and Seebeck ***,the thermal conductivity of HMS is also high,resulting in relatively low z T *** nano-dispersion in the matrix is one of the most effective methods to enhance the TE properties via reducing the lattice thermal conductivity significantly without drastic changes on the other *** this study,Cs Pb BrQDs with uniform size were synthesized and introduced into HMS *** PF(at 823 K)was enhanced to 1.71×10^(-3)W m^(-1)K^(-2),which is improved 14.0%approximately compared with that of pure HMS owing to the combined effect of element doping and energy *** lattice thermal conductivity(at 823 K)decreased from 2.56W mKto 1.99 W mKsynchronously(~22.0%)due to the intensive phonon scattering caused by Cs doping,and the embedding of Pb riched CsPbBr_(3)QDs and Pb QDs.A maximum z T value of 0.57(823 K)is achieved in Cs Pb BrQDs/HMS composites,which is 36.0%higher than that of pure ***,for other TE materials,it is also feasible to improve the TE properties via introducing metastable quantum dots.

W boson mass in NP models with an extra U(1)gauge group

The precise measurement of the W boson mass is closely related to the contributions of new physics(NP),which can significantly constrain the parameter space of NP models,particularly those with an additional U(1)local gauge *** inclusion of a new Z'gauge boson and gauge couplings in these models can contribute to the oblique parameters S,T,and U and the W boson mass at tree *** the effects of kinetic mixing,in this study,we calculate and analyze the oblique parameters S,T,and U and the W boson mass in such NP *** find that the kinetic mixing effects can make significant contributions to the W boson mass,and these contributions can be eliminated by redefining the gauge boson fields by removing neutral currents with charged leptons if the leptonic Yukawa couplings are invariant under the extra U(1)local gauge group,even with nonzero kinetic mixing effects.

The minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model(MSSM)is extended to the U(1)XSSM,whose local gauge group is SU(3)C×SU(2)L×U(1)Y×U(1)*** obtain the U(1)XSSM,we add new superfields to the MSSM,namely,three Higgs singletsηη,S and right-handed neutrinosν*** charge conjugate and parity(CP)violating effects are considered to study the lepton electric dipole moment(EDM)in the U(1)*** are more CP violating phases in the U(1)XSSM than in the standard model(SM).In this model,several new parameters(θS,θBB′,θBL)are considered as CP violating phases;hence,there are new contributions to lepton *** is conducive to exploring the source of CP violation and probing new physics beyond the SM.

Lepton flavor violating decays of vector mesons in the MRSSM

In this study,we analyze the rare decays of the neutral vector mesons J/ψ and Υ(nS)in the scenario of the minimal R-symmetric supersymmetric standard model using the effective Lagrangian *** predicted branching ratios are dominated by the mass insertion parameters δ^(ij),i.e.,the off-diagonal inputs,and the contributions of different parts are *** into account the experimental constraints on the mass insertion parameters,the predicted branching ratios for the most promising processes Υ(nS)→lτ are ten orders of magnitude smaller than the present experimental bounds.

Lepton-flavor violation in the left-right supersymmetric standard model

In the standard model, the charged lepton-flavor violation (CLFV) processes are forbidden, so the observation of CLFV represents a clear signal of new physics that goes beyond the standard model. In this work, we focus on the CLFV processes lj−→li−γ and lj−→li−li−li+ in the left-right supersymmetric standard model (LRSSM). Considering the constraints of the updated experimental data, the numerical results show that the new contributions of SU(2)R gauge interaction and a large number of other new particles, such as the Z′ boson and double-charged Higgs bosons in LRSSM can make significant contributions to the CLFV processes lj−→li−γ and lj−→li−li−li+, which is much different from the ones predicted in other supersymmetry models. This work provides a theoretical base for finding the lepton-flavor violation phenomena in new physics.
