Partial wave effects in the heavy quarkonium radiative electromagnetic decays

In a previous paper [1], it was pointed out that the wave functions of all particles are not pure waves, besides the main partial waves, they all contain other partial waves. It is very interesting to know what role these different partial waves play in particle transitions. Therefore, by using the Bethe-Salpeter equation method, we study the radiative electromagnetic decays ψ→γχcJ and ϒ→γχbJ (J=0, 1, 2). We find that for the S and P wave dominated states, like the ψ(2S), ϒ(2S), χcJ(1P), and χbJ(1P) etc., the dominant S and P waves provide main and nonrelativistic contrition to the decays; other partial waves mainly contribute to the relativistic correction. For the states like the ψ(1D), ϒ(2D), χc2(1F), and χb2(1F) etc., they are the S−P−D mixing state dominated by D wave or the P−D−F mixing state dominated by F wave. Large decay widths are found in the transitions ψ(2D)→χc2(1F), ϒ(1D)→χbJ(1P), and ϒ(2D)→χbJ(2P) etc., which may be helpful to study the missing states χc2(1F), ϒ(1D), and ϒ(2D).

We studied the DD¯^⁎/D¯D^⁎, D^⁎D¯^⁎, D¯_sD^⁎/D¯_s^⁎D, BB¯^⁎/B¯B^⁎ and B^⁎B¯^⁎ di-hadron interactions in chiral effective field theory (χEFT) up to the next-to-leading (NLO) order. The above-threshold tetraquark states Z_c(3900), Z_c(4020), Z_cs(3985), Z_b(10610), Z_b(10650) can be explained as the corresponding di-hadron resonances, respectively. We also studied the Σ_c^(⁎)D¯^(⁎) interactions to investigate the three hidden-charm pentaquarks P_c(4312), P_c(4440) and P_c(4457). We further used the parameters fixed from the P_c states to predict the possible molecular states in Ξ_cD¯^(⁎), Ξ_c^′D¯^(⁎) and Ξ_c^⁎D¯^(⁎) systems. Our predictions of the Ξ_cD¯^(⁎) bound states are very consistent with two new near-threshold structures recently observed by the LHCb Collab.ration. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

AgNbO_(3) is an antiferroelectric (AFE) material with double hysteresis loop. Both the antiferroelectricityand ferroelectricity can be enhanced by doping. Herein, the ferroelectricity of AgNbO_(3) ceramics wasenhanced via K-doping and the phase diagram of the (Ag_(1-x)K_(x))NbO_(3) ceramics was upgraded. In details,(Ag_(1-x)K_(x))NbO_(3) ceramics are ferrielectric (FIE) M1 phase as x=5.00-5.50 mol% and ferroelectric (FE) Ophase as x=5.75-6.00 mol% before poling, and FE O phase as x=5.00-6.00 mol% after poling at roomtemperature. With increasing temperature, (Ag_(1-x)K_(x))NbO_(3) ceramics show the phase evolutions from FIEM1, AFE M2 to paraelectric (PE) T phase at x=5.00-5.50 mol% and from FE O, FE T to PE T phase at x=5.75-6.00 mol% before poling, and from FE O, FE T to PE T phase at x=5.00-6.00 mol% after *** d33 values of 180 pC/N and 285 pC/N are obtained at the FE O-FE T and FE T-PE T phase *** work sheds light on a novel and promising lead-free piezoelectric system.

Phase diagrams of neutron-proton superfluid in asymmetric nuclear matter

The finite-temperature phase structures for neutron-proton superfluidity in asymmetric nuclear matter are investigated, with a particular focus on the angular dependence of the pairing gap induced by the SD13 nucleon-nucleon interaction. This angular dependence of the pairing gap results in the Cooper pair momentum in the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state exhibiting exactly two distinct stable orientations: one orthogonal (FFLO-ADG-O) and the other parallel (FFLO-ADG-P) to the symmetry axis of the pairing gap. The FFLO-ADG-O state dominates at low asymmetries, while the FFLO-ADG-P state prevails at high asymmetries. Additionally, this analysis of normal-superfluid phase separation reveals that the angular dependence of the pairing gap eliminates phase separation in the low-asymmetry regime, whereas the Cooper pair momentum effectively suppresses phase separation at high asymmetries. These two mechanisms act in concert to significantly prevent the occurrence of normal-superfluid phase separation across the entire phase diagram, ensuring the stability of the homogeneous superfluid state over a broad range of asymmetries. These results provide new insights into the interplay between the angular dependence of the pairing gap and the stability of superfluidity in asymmetric nuclear matter.

The origin of the 95 GeV excess in the flavor-dependent model

This study investigates the excesses observed in the CMS diphoton and ditau data around $$95~{\textrm{GeV}}$$ within the framework of the flavor-dependent $$U(1)_X$$ model. The model introduces a singlet scalar to explain the nonzero neutrino masses. This newly introduced Higgs interacts directly with the quark sector, motivated by the aim to explain the flavor numbers of the fermion sector. Additionally, it undergoes mixing with the SM-like Higgs boson. The study suggests that designating this singlet Higgs state in this model as the lightest Higgs boson holds great potential for explaining the excesses around $$95~{\textrm{GeV}}.$$ In the calculations, we maintained the masses of the lightest and next-to-lightest Higgs bosons at around $$95~{\textrm{GeV}}$$ and $$125~{\textrm{GeV}}$$ respectively. It was found that the theoretical predictions on the signal strengthes $$\mu (h_{95})_{\gamma \gamma },$$ $$\mu (h_{95})_{\tau \tau }$$ in the flavor-dependent $$U(1)_X$$ model can be fitted well to the excesses observed at CMS.

Elemental topological ferroelectrics and polar metals of few-layer materials

Ferroelectricity can exist in elemental phases as a result of charge transfers between atoms occupying inequivalent Wyckoff positions. We investigate the emergence of ferroelectricity in two-dimensional elemental materials with buckled honeycomb lattices. Various multi-bilayer structures hosting ferroelectricity are designed by stacking-engineering. Ferroelectric materials candidates formed by group IV and V elements are predicted theoretically. Ultrathin Bi films show layer-stacking-dependent physical properties of ferroelectricity, topology, and metallicity. The two-bilayer Bi film with a polar stacking sequence is found to be an elemental topological ferroelectric material. Three and four bilayers Bi films with polar structures are ferroelectric-like elemental polar metals with topological nontrivial edge states. For Ge and Sn, trivial elemental polar metals are predicted. Higgs boson decays and in the SSM

We present a detailed analysis of the Higgs boson decays $$h\rightarrow Z \gamma $$ and $$h\rightarrow m_V Z$$ in the $$U(1)_X$$ SSM, with $$m_V$$ denoting one of the mesons ( $$\omega ,\rho ,\phi ,J/{\psi },\Upsilon $$ ). Using the effective Lagrangian method, we calculate the effective constants $$C_{\gamma Z}$$ (CP-even) and $${\tilde{C}}_{\gamma Z}$$ (CP-odd) for the vertex $$h \gamma Z$$ , which are corrected by the new particle loop diagrams. Numerically, the ratio $${\Gamma }_{U(1)_X}(h\rightarrow Z \gamma )/{\Gamma }_{SM}(h\rightarrow Z \gamma )$$ is between 1.02 and 1.35. For the vector mesons $$\omega ,\rho ,\phi $$ and $$J/{\psi }$$ , the ratios $${\Gamma }_{U(1)_X}(h\rightarrow m_V Z )/{\Gamma }_{SM}(h\rightarrow m_V Z)$$ are mainly distributed in the range of (1.01–1.45). When $$m_V$$ represents $$\Upsilon $$ , the ratio $${\Gamma }_{U(1)_X}(h\rightarrow \Upsilon Z )/{\Gamma }_{SM}(h\rightarrow \Upsilon Z)$$ is mostly located in the range of (1.002–1.30). The aim of this work is to provide a reference for probing the $$U(1)_X$$ SSM model via the Higgs decays $$h\rightarrow Z \gamma $$ and $$h\rightarrow m_V Z$$ .

Strong first-order electroweak phase transition in the U(1)X-extended MSSM

In the U(1)X extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, there are three Higgs singlets and the corresponding trilinear terms in the Higgs effective potential. These new terms can allow a strongly first-order electroweak phase transition (EWPT) for a wide parameter space. We use codes cosmotransitions to analyze the thermal evolution of the Higgs effective potential and calculate nucleation temperature. To find reasonable parameter spaces for strongly first-order EWPT, we randomly scan many parameters, which is numerically expensive. The diagrams are shown, that can lead to the 125 GeV Higgs mass and satisfy the first-order EWPT. This work benefits the phenomenology of U(1)X SSM and exploring new physics beyond the SM.

On the first order corrections to the black hole thermodynamics in higher curvature theories of gravity

In modified theories of gravity, higher curvature terms may be added to the Einstein-Hilbert action. Conventionally, the effects of the higher curvature terms on the black hole thermodynamics are rather difficult to obtain. In this paper, we show that, at least at the first order level, the corrections to the thermodynamics of the Schwarzschild black hole can be easily obtained, without solving the modified black hole metric. We examine some specific examples, which produces the known results in the literature, as well as those previously unknown. Furthermore, we find some nonperturbative exact results by generalizing the first-order analysis. In particular, a novel relation between the Euclidean integrals of the Einstein–Hilbert term and the higher curvature terms is found and proved. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Taking Ds∗0(2317)+ as a conventional cs¯ meson, we calculate its dominant strong and electromagnetic decays in the framework of the Bethe-Salpeter method. Our results are (formula presented) and (formula presented). The contributions of the different partial waves from the initial and final state wave functions to the decay width are also calculated, and we find that the relativistic corrections in both decay processes are very large.
