We revisit the DD* interactions in chiral effective field theory up to the third order for the first time. We deal with the pion-exchanged interactions via local momentum-space regularization, in which we focus on their long-range behaviors through demanding their contributions vanish at the origin in the coordinate space. The short-range contact interactions and subleading pion-charmed meson couplings are estimated with the phenomenological resonance saturation model. The subleading pion-charmed meson couplings are much weaker than those in the pion-nucleon system, thus the DD* binding mechanism is very different with that of the NN system. We also obtain the analytic structure of the two-pion exchange interactions in the coordinate space, and we find that its asymptotic behavior at long distance is similar to but slightly different than the NN interactions. We get the same asymptotic behavior of the two-pion exchange interaction with that from the HAL QCD method, but appearing in the longer distance rather than 1

We present a new parameterized Hubble function and employ observational data from Hubble, Pantheon, and Baryon Acoustic Oscillations to constrain model parameters. The proposed method is thoroughly validated against these datasets, demonstrating a robust fit to the observational data. The obtained best-fit values are H0 = 67.5+1−1.36 km s−1Mpc−1, Ωm0 = 0.2764 ± 0.0094, and α = 0.33 ± 0.22, consistent with the Planck 2018 results, highlighting the existence of Hubble tension. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

We probe deeply into the characteristics of thin accretion disk surrounding black hole within the brane world paradigm. We investigate how model parameters affect the physical properties of the disk. Our findings indicate that as the tidal charge parameter inherited from the higher dimension increases, the energy flux, the radiation temperature, the spectral cutoff frequency, the spectral luminosity, and the conversion efficiency of the disk all increase, but the radius of the innermost stable circular orbit decreases. Compared to cases of the Kerr and Schwarzschild black holes, the disk is hotter and more luminous for positive tidal charge parameter, while it is cooler and less luminous for negative tidal charge parameter, which suggests the potential for probing possible signatures of higher dimension. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

The precise measurement of the W boson mass is closely related to the contributions of new physics (NP), which can significantly constrain the parameter space of NP models, particularly those with an additional U(1) local gauge group. The inclusion of a new Z' gauge boson and gauge couplings in these models can contribute to the oblique parameters S, T, U and the W boson mass at tree level. Taking into account the effects of kinetic mixing, in this study we calculate and analyze the oblique parameters S, T, U and the W boson mass in such NP models. It is found that the kinetic mixing effects can make significant contributions to the W boson mass, and these contributions can be eliminated by redefining the gauge boson fields through eliminating the neutral currents involving charged leptons, if the leptonic Yukawa couplings are invariant under the extra U(1) local gauge group, even with nonzero kinetic mixing effects. © 2023, CC BY.

We study the interactions of the ΣcΣc system in the framework of chiral effective theory. We consider the contact, one-pion and two-pion exchange interactions and bridge the low energy constants of the ΣcΣc system to those of the Σc(∗)D¯ (∗) systems through the quark-level ansatz for the contact interaction. We explore the influence of intermediate channels in the two-pion exchange diagrams of the ΣcΣc system. We obtain a deep bound state [ΣcΣc]IJ=0=0 and a shallow bound state [ΣcΣc]IJ=1=1. As a byproduct, we further investigate the interactions of the ΛcΛc and ΛcΣc systems. © 2022, CC BY.

The holographic state of matter exists in the quantum gravitational regime, with black holes as the example. In this essay, we provide a microscopic derivation to the holographic thermodynamics and further discuss its implications for quantum gravity. Especially, we establish the link between holographic entropy and dimensional reduction. It seems that the fundamental physics behind black holes and the very early universe is 1 + 1 dimensional. Recently several new bounds of the lepton flavor violating decays of the neutral vector mesons J/φ and ϒ(nS) are reported from the experiments. In the work, we analyze these processes in the scenario of the minimal R-symmetric supersymmetric standard model by means of the effective Lagrangian method. The predicted branching ratios are affected by the mass insertion parameters δijand the contributions from different parts are comparable. Taking account of the constraints on the mass insertion parameters from the experiments, the branching ratios for the most promising processes ϒ(nS) → lτ are predicted to be ten orders of magnitude smaller than the present experimental bounds. Very recently, the LHCb Collab.ration reported the first observation of the hidden-charm pentaquark with strangeness, PψsΛ(4338)0. Considering this state is very close to the Ξc0D¯0 and Ξc+D− thresholds, we explore the possible bias of the Breit-Wigner parametrization, with emphasis on the effect of its coupling to the double thresholds Ξc0D¯0 and Ξc+D−. We first use a qualitative picture based on the “uniformization” of the Riemann surface of the two-channel system to understand the positions of the enhancement. Then we use the Lippmann-Schwinger equation formalism (equivalent to the K-matrix parametrization) with two models, the zero-range model and the Flatté model to investigate the J/ψΛ line shapes. Our results show that the nominal peak of the PψsΛ(4338)0 could arise either from the pole well above the Ξc+D− threshold on the (−,+) sheet or from the pole well below the Ξc0D¯0 threshold on the (−,−) sheet in the two-channel system. Using the Breit-Wigner distribution to depict the above two line shapes could be misleading. We also find a novel type of line shapes with the enhancement constrained by the threshold difference. We urge the LHCb Collab.ration to perform the refined experimental analysis considering the unitarity and analyticity, e.g., using the K-matrix parametrization. As a by-product, we obtain that the ratio of the isospin violating decay ΓPψsΛ→J/ψΣ/ΓPψsΛ→J/ψΛ could be up to 10%.

We propose a type of k-inflation under the Hamilton-Jacobi approach. We calculate various observables such as the scalar power spectrum, the tensor-to-scalar ratio, the scalar spectra index for the case where the Hubble parameter is a power-law function of k-field. The model’s parameters are constrained with Planck data and the concrete form of the potential is presented. Logarithmic correction to black hole entropy from the nonlocality of quantum gravity

It has been known for many years that the leading correction to the black hole entropy is a logarithmic term, which is universal and closely related to conformal anomaly. A fully consistent analysis of this issue has to take quantum backreactions to the black hole geometry into account. However, it was always unclear how to naturally derive the modified black hole metric, especially from an effective action, because the problem refers to the elusive nonlocality of quantum gravity. In this paper, we show that this problem can be resolved within an effective field theory (EFT) framework of quantum gravity. Our work suggests that the EFT approach provides a powerful and self-consistent tool for studying the quantum gravitational corrections to black hole geometries and thermodynamics.
