This paper proposes a novel synchronization algorithm for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the Maximum Time Synchronization (MTS), which is based on maximum value consensus approach. The main idea is to maximize the local information to achieve a global synchronization. Compared with the existing consensus-based synchronization protocols, the main advantages of our protocol include: i) a faster convergence speed such that the synchronization can be completed in a finite time;ii) simultaneous compensation for both the skew and the offset. We provide a rigorous proof of convergence to global synchronization and also give the upper bound of the convergence time. Moreover, the protocol is completely distributed, asynchronous, and robust against packet losses, nodes failure and the addition of new nodes. Some numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of our protocol.

Hammerstein models are popular in describing nonlinear chemical processes. The general control strategy for Hammerstein models is the nonlinearity inversion method, which is unfortunately inapplicable to Hammerstein systems with input multiplicity. To overcome this difficulty, a Multi-PID control approach is proposed. Thus, a complex control problem is solved by a conventional and easy control strategy. Abstract In this paper, a discontinuous projection-based output feedback adaptive robust learning control (OARLC) scheme is constructed for a class of nonlinear systems in a semi-strict feedback form by incorporating an observer and a dynamic normalization signal. Since only output signal is availab.e for measurement, an observer is firstly designed to provide exponentially convergent estimates of the unmeasurable states. Using certain known basis functions to capture the characteristics of unknown general periodic disturbances, the discontinuous projection type adaptation law can then be used to tune the amplitudes of those basis functions on-line to recover the unknown general periodic disturbances asymptotically. The estimation errors due to the unknown initial states, uncompensated disturbances, and the uncertain nonlinearities are also effectively dealt with via certain robust feedback at each step of the proposed OARLC backstepping design. The resulting controller achieves a guaranteed transient and a prescribed final tracking accuracy for output tracking performance. In addition, when the general periodic disturbances fall within the approximation ranges of the periodic basis functions, asymptotic output tracking performance is achieved as well.

Abstract A new framework to design immersion and invariance adaptive controllers for nonlinearly parameterized, nonlinear systems was recently proposed by the authors. The key step is the construction of a monotone mapping, via a suitable selection of a controller tuning function, which has to satisfy some integrability conditions—this translates into the need to solve a partial differential equation (PDE). In this paper this result is extended providing some answers to the questions of characterization of “monotonizable” systems and solvability of the PDE. First, adding to the design a nonlinear dynamic scaling, we obviate the need to solve the PDE. Second, for the case of factorizable nonlinearities , the following results are established. (i) It is shown that the monotonicity condition is satisfied if a linear matrix inequality is feasible. (ii) Directly verifiable involutivity conditions that ensure the solution of the PDE are presented. (iii) An explicit formula for the required tuning function is given, provided the regressor matrix satisfies some rank conditions. Hence, adding a dynamic scaling, this yields a constructive solution to the problem.

A distinctive new LMS algorithm is proposed in his paper. Both fast convergence rate and small steady state rror can be obtained through non-linear weighting N errors of the current moment and past moments in this algorithm. The algorithm analyzed that the ideal step size is achieved by increasing the error information, building new nonlinear relations between step size factor and error function and eliminating the effect of correlated noise sequences. Then the new algorithm is applied to the fixed satellite communications system in which the channel is affected by multipath effect and weather conditions attenuation. Simulation results show that the new algorithm converges faster than usual algorithms under approximate steady state performance. The signal BER performance is greatly improved with the new adaptive algorithm equalizer in the fixed satellite communications system.

In this paper, we propose an object-oriented attack model to represent a protocol attack in WSN detailedly. The model describes multiple attributes of an attack, including its principle, impact, interdependent relationships with other attacks, etc. Then, on the basis of the attack model and the FSM description method, we present a security testing approach for WSN protocols, in order to evaluate the security of the tested protocols. Finally, we take the TinyPK protocol and Sybil attack for example to implement our design, and the Protocol Security Testing Report shows as expected that the TinyPK cannot resist the Sybil attack. Thus, the security testing approach proposed is feasible.

The problem of robust H∞ guaranteed cost fault-tolerant control for a class of networked control system(NCS) with time-varying delay and packet dropout is investigated. A new model is employed to represent the linear controlled plant in the NCS, a sufficient condition for a robust H∞ guaranteed cost integrity design with failures of actuator or sensor is given in terms of a delay-dependent approach. And the design method of the optimal robust H∞ guaranteed cost fault-tolerant controllers is given with LMIs constraints. Moreover, a less conservative method is obtained due to the lower bound of the time-delay introduced in the model and appropriate free-weighting matrices introduced during the proof. A numerical example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.
