This paper presents an ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with a small size of 41×41×1.6mm 3 . Double notched bands are obtained by introducing C-shaped slot and L-shaped slot. The proposed antenna exhibits good UWB performance, it achieves impedance bandwidth from 3.1GHz to 10.8GHz, and better than -15dB of isolation over the entire operating band, with adaptable double band rejection to avoid interference caused by two narrow frequency bands WLAN (5.15-5.85 GHz) and X-band satellite communication systems (7.25-7.75 GHz).

In this paper, a novel broadband Coplanar Waveguide(CPW)-fed slot antenna working at Ka-band is presented. A wideband performance is realized by slot coupling between the rectangular stub and the surrounding ground plane for millimeter wave applications. Meanwhile, an asymmetric CPW structure is introduced to improve the antenna bandwidth, by adjusting the width of the rectangular stub, two different resonance frequencies of the narrow slots around the stub are generated close to the center frequency to achieve a wider band-width. The designed CPW slot antenna exhibits a wide impedance bandwidth over 42.4% and an average gain of 3 dBi.

Traditional machine learning follows a close-set assumption that the training and test set share the same lab.l space. While in many practical scenarios, it is inevitable that some test samples belong to unknown classes (open-set). To fix this issue, Open-Set Recognition (OSR), whose goal is to make correct predictions on both close-set samples and open-set samples, has attracted rising attention. In this direction, the vast majority of literature focuses on the pattern of open-set samples. However, how to evaluate model performance in this challenging task is still unsolved. In this paper, a systematic analysis reveals that most existing metrics are essentially inconsistent with the aforementioned goal of OSR: (1) For metrics extended from close-set classification, such as Open-set F-score, Youden's index, and Normalized Accuracy, a poor open-set prediction can escape from a low performance score with a superior close-set prediction. (2) Novelty detection AUC, which measures the ranking performance between close-set and open-set samples, ignores the close-set performance. To fix these issues, we propose a novel metric named OpenAUC. Compared with existing metrics, OpenAUC enjoys a concise pairwise formulation that evaluates open-set performance and close-set performance in a coupling manner. Further analysis shows that OpenAUC is free from the aforementioned inconsistency properties. Finally, an end-to-end learning method is proposed to minimize the OpenAUC risk, and the experimental results on popular benchmark datasets speak to its effectiveness.

Multi-modal knowledge graph embeddings (KGE) have caught more and more attention in learning representations of entities and relations for link prediction tasks. Different from previous uni-modal KGE approaches, multi-modal KGE can leverage expressive knowledge from a wealth of modalities (image, text, etc.), leading to more comprehensive representations of real-world entities. However, the critical challenge along this course lies in that the multi-modal embedding spaces are usually heterogeneous. In this sense, direct fusion will destroy the inherent spatial structure of different modal embeddings. To overcome this challenge, we revisit multi-modal KGE from a distributional alignment perspective and propose optimal transport knowledge graph embeddings (OTKGE). Specifically, we model the multi-modal fusion procedure as a transport plan moving different modal embeddings to a unified space by minimizing the Wasserstein distance between multi-modal distributions. Theoretically, we show that by minimizing the Wasserstein distance between the individual modalities and the unified embedding space, the final results are guaranteed to maintain consistency and comprehensiveness. Moreover, experimental results on well-established multi-modal knowledge graph completion benchmarks show that our OTKGE achieves state-of-the-art performance.

A novel compact compensation inductance structure optimized by genetic algorithm (GA) for right-angle bended transmission line is proposed to mitigate differential-to-common mode conversion noise in this paper. In comparison with the previous suppression method, high suppression level and large bandwidth are obtained with the proposed structure. Simultaneously, the differential return loss and insertion loss have been minimized by GA, leading to an overall improved signal integrity (SI). Furthermore, the proposed structure places inside the transmission line and does not occupy extra wiring space. Finally, the differential-to-common mode conversion can be prohibited from DC to 11 GHz with a suppression level of-23.13 dB. The measured results agree well with the simulated ones. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper, a compact multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with two notches for wireless UWB applications is presented. The size of the proposed antenna is small, only 20 × 20 mm2. The radiating element of the antenna is a rectangular patch with a chamfered corner, and the inverted U-shaped slit on the patch is used to create the notches at wireless local area network and the downlink X-band of satellite communication. The isolation of more than 15 dB is achieved over the entire working frequency band (3.04-12.36 GHz). © 2019 IEEE.

License plate recognition plays a critical role in many practical applications, but license plates of large vehicles are difficult to be recognized due to the factors of low resolution, contamination, low illumination, and occlusion, to name a few. To overcome the above factors, the transportation management department generally introduces the enlarged license plate behind the rear of a vehicle. However, enlarged license plates have high diversity as they are non-standard in position, size, and style. Furthermore, the background regions contain a variety of noisy information which greatly disturbs the recognition of license plate characters. Existing works have not studied this challenging problem. In this work, we first address the enlarged license plate recognition problem and contribute a dataset containing 9342 images, which cover most of the challenges of real scenes. However, the created data are still insufficient to train deep methods of enlarged license plate recognition, and building large-scale training data is very time-consuming and high lab.r cost. To handle this problem, we propose a novel task-level disentanglement generation framework based on the Disentangled Generation Network (DGNet), which disentangles the generation into the text generation and background generation in an end-to-end manner to effectively ensure diversity and integrity, for robust enlarged license plate recognition. Extensive experiments on the created dataset are conducted, and we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in three representative text recognition frameworks. © 2022, CC BY.

Gaussian-Hermite Moment Invariants of General Multi-Channel Functions

With the development of data acquisition technology, large amounts of multi-channel data are collected and widely used in many fields. Most of them, such as RGB images and vector fields, can be expressed as different types of multi-channel functions. Feature extraction of multi-channel data for identifying interest patterns is a critical but challenging task. This paper focuses on constructing moment-based features of general multi-channel functions. Specifically, we define two transform models, rotation-affine transform and total rotation transform, to describe real deformations of multi-channel data. Then, we design a structural framework to generate Gaussian-Hermite moment invariants for these two transform models systematically. It is the first time that a unified framework has been proposed in the literature to construct orthogonal moment invariants of general multi-channel functions. Given a specific type of multi-channel data, we demonstrate how to utilize the new method to derive all possible invariants and eliminate dependences among them. We obtain independent sets of invariants with low orders and low degrees for RGB images, 2D vector fields and color volume data. Based on synthetic and real multi-channel data, we conduct extensive experiments to evaluate the stability and discriminability of these invariants and their robustness to noise. The results show that new moment invariants significantly outperform previous moment invariants of multi-channel data in RGB image classification and vortex detection in 2D vector fields. This paper designs a CPW-fed single-fed single- layer dual-frequency antenna for 5G applications. The overall size of the antenna is only 23×30.5×0.254mm 3 . The antenna consists of an improved folded rectangular slot, a Y-shaped monopole radiator fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) with cross-notched slots, and a curved sub-ring slot for isolating frequency bands. The dual frequency characteristics are realized by deformed folded rectangular grooves and Y-shaped monopoles with split ring grooves and cross grooves. By adjusting the position and size of these structures separately, two working frequency bands can be realized. Reduce the size of the antenna by folding the rectangular ground slot to increase the surface current (6.92 λ 0 × 9.17 λ 0 × 0.08 λ 0 ). The simulation results show that the working bandwidth of the antenna is 2.82- 3.84Ghz (31.58%) and 4.48-5.53Ghz (25.68%) respectively. It not only covers 5G bands 3.4-3.8Ghz and 4.8-5.0Ghz, but also covers up to part of the working frequency band of WLAN and WiMAX. The antenna has a good omnidirectional radiation pattern. The antenna is small in size, easy to integrate, and is well-suited to 5G wireless communication equipment.

This paper studies the broadband circularly polarized antenna used in micro base stations. The antenna consists of a pair of rectangular loops. The ring patch is used to form circular polarization, and a pair of open resonant ring parasitic elements are loaded between the two rectangular rings to increase the bandwidth. By introducing balun feed to increase bandwidth, good impedance matching can be obtained. Add a metal reflector at the bottom of the antenna to form directional radiation. The antenna was printed on the Rogers RO4003 substrate, and the results showed that the -10dB return loss bandwidth was 43.4% (1.86-2.89GHz), and the -3dB axial ratio bandwidth was 41% (1.9-3GHz). The gain of the antenna in the frequency band is greater than 9dBi.
