Medical X-Ray Image Enhancement Based on Kramer's PDE Model

The purpose of this study is to present an application of a novel enhancement technique for enhancing medical images generated from X-rays. The method presented in this study is based on a nonlinear partial differential equation (PDE) model, Kramer’s PDE model. The usefulness of this method is investigated by experimental results. We apply this method to a medical X-ray image. For comparison, the X-ray image is also processed using classic Perona-Malik PDE model and Catte PDE model. Although the Perona-Malik model and Catte PDE model could also enhance the image, the quality of the enhanced images is considerably inferior compared with the enhanced image using Kramer’s PDE model. The study suggests that the Kramer’s PDE model is capable of enhancing medical X-ray images, which will make the X-ray images more reliable.

In this paper, we describe a new reranking strategy named word lattice reranking, for the task of joint Chinese word segmentation and part-of-speech (POS) tagging. As a derivation of the forest reranking for parsing (Huang, 2008), this strategy reranks on the pruned word lattice, which potentially contains much more candidates while using less storage, compared with the traditional n-best list reranking. With a perceptron classifier trained with local features as the baseline, word lattice reranking performs reranking with non-local features that can't be easily incorporated into the perceptron baseline. Experimental results show that, this strategy achieves improvement on both segmentation and POS tagging, above the perceptron baseline and the n-best list reranking. © 2008. Licensed to the Coling.

The PMCHWT equation of the double negative media (DNG) is obtained based on its constitutive relationship. And the surface currents and radar cross section (RCS) at a single frequency point is computed by Method of moments (MOM). The asymptotic waveform evaluation (AWE) technique for dispersive dielectric medium is deduced and apllied to electromagnetic scattering analysis of double-negative medium within a given frequency band.

Two-way relaying can considerably improve spectral efficiency in relay-assisted bidirectional ***,most existing works focus on physical layer to exploit its resource *** benefits and flexible structures of two-way relaying on datalink layer are much less *** in this paper,the cross-layer optimization for amplify-and-forward(AF)two-way relaying system is studied and an optimal power allocation scheme is *** goal is to find the optimal power allocation factors to maximize the weighted sum effective capacity of two sources in the physical layer while guaranteeing the statistical delay quality-of-service(QoS)requirement for each source in the datalink *** statistical delay Qo S requirement is characterized by the QoS exponentq,which is the only requested information exchanged between the physical layer and the datalink layer in our cross-layer design based *** integrating the concept of effective capacity,the cross-layer optimization problem is equivalent to a weighted sum effective capacity maximization *** problem is formulated into a convex optimization problem,and an algorithm is presented to solve this *** results show that proposed optimal power allocation scheme can achieve better weighted sum effective capacity than equal power allocation scheme and direct transmission scheme,and the relay transmission combined with direct links can get the max weighted sum effective capacity.

In this paper,we propose a cross-layer power allocation scheme over wireless relay networks for quality-of-service(Qo S)*** formulate our original throughput maximization problem into effective capacity maximization problem by applying information theory and the concept of the effective *** our scheme,we focus on full duplex mode and amplify-and-forward(AF)*** particular,our proposed scheme derives closed-form expressions and analyzes the impacts of the SNR of the interference channel on the performance of full duplex relaying *** comparison purpose,we also give the analysis of half duplex relaying *** results show that our proposed power allocation scheme can support diverse Qo S guarantees and achieve better effective capacity than equal power allocation scheme and direct transmission *** analysis also indicate that the perfect full duplex mode can achieve twice optimal effective capacity of the half duplex mode.

This paper designs a CPW-fed single-fed single- layer dual-frequency antenna for 5G applications. The overall size of the antenna is only 23×30.5×0.254mm 3 . The antenna consists of an improved folded rectangular slot, a Y-shaped monopole radiator fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) with cross-notched slots, and a curved sub-ring slot for isolating frequency bands. The dual frequency characteristics are realized by deformed folded rectangular grooves and Y-shaped monopoles with split ring grooves and cross grooves. By adjusting the position and size of these structures separately, two working frequency bands can be realized. Reduce the size of the antenna by folding the rectangular ground slot to increase the surface current (6.92 λ 0 × 9.17 λ 0 × 0.08 λ 0 ). The simulation results show that the working bandwidth of the antenna is 2.82- 3.84Ghz (31.58%) and 4.48-5.53Ghz (25.68%) respectively. It not only covers 5G bands 3.4-3.8Ghz and 4.8-5.0Ghz, but also covers up to part of the working frequency band of WLAN and WiMAX. The antenna has a good omnidirectional radiation pattern. The antenna is small in size, easy to integrate, and is well-suited to 5G wireless communication equipment.

In this paper, a novel and comprehensive signal denoising method is proposed by combining Symplectic Geometric Modal Decomposition (SGMD) and Block Thresholding denoising. The proposed approach involves a three-step process: first, the signal is decomposed into a set of Symplectic Geometric Components (SGCs) using SGMD. Subsequently, each SGC is subjected to Block-Thresholding denoising. Finally, the denoised SGCs are recombined to obtain the denoised linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal. The experimental verification demonstrates the effectiveness of the SGMD-BT method in denoising LFM signals. This novel approach offers a fresh solution for the processing and analysis of LFM signals, holding significant application potential and research importance.

The paper proposes a noise reduction algorithm based on symplectic Geometric Mode Decomposition (SGMD) and Savitzky-Golay (SG)filtering to address the issue of noise interference during signal transmission. Firstly, the noisy signal is decomposed using symplectic geometric mode decomposition to obtain several symplectic geometric components. The component with less noise is then selected and superimposed based on its energy entropy. Finally, the reconstructed signal undergoes denoising through SG filtering. The proposed method is applied to conduct comparison experiments on noise reduction for linear frequency modulation signals and multicomponent periodic signals. The results demonstrate a significant noise reduction effect of the proposed method, which holds great significance for signal analysis and research on noise reduction.

This paper studies the broadband circularly polarized antenna used in micro base stations. The antenna consists of a pair of rectangular loops. The ring patch is used to form circular polarization, and a pair of open resonant ring parasitic elements are loaded between the two rectangular rings to increase the bandwidth. By introducing balun feed to increase bandwidth, good impedance matching can be obtained. Add a metal reflector at the bottom of the antenna to form directional radiation. The antenna was printed on the Rogers RO4003 substrate, and the results showed that the -10dB return loss bandwidth was 43.4% (1.86-2.89GHz), and the -3dB axial ratio bandwidth was 41% (1.9-3GHz). The gain of the antenna in the frequency band is greater than 9dBi.
