In order to meet the requirements of the navigation system for antennas with wide 3-dB AR beam-width, this paper proposes an axial-ratio beam-width enhancement of antenna based on electromagnetic bandgap (EBG). The effect of surface wave on the circular polarization of the antenna is suppressed by loading two layers of mushroom-like EBG unit cells around the patch. The loading of the EBG increases the 3-dB AR beam-width of the antenna by 78% in the xoz plane and the by 84% in the yoz plane, the simulation and test results demonstrate the effectiveness of this method.

The goal of semantic dependency parsing is to build dependency structure and lab.l semantic relation between a head and its modifier. To attain this goal, we concentrate on obtaining better dependency structure to predict better semantic relations, and propose a method to combine the results of three state-of-the-art dependency parsers. Unfortunately, we made a mistake when we generate the final output that results in a lower score of 56.31% in term of lab.led Attachment Score (LAS), reported by organizers. After giving golden testing set, we fix the bug and rerun the evaluation script, this time we obtain the score of 62.8% which is consistent with the results on developing set. We will report detailed experimental results with correct program as a comparison standard for further research.

In this paper, we present our system description for the CoNLL-2012 coreference resolution task on English, Chinese and Arabic. We investigate a projection-based model in which we first translate Chinese and Arabic into English, run a publicly availab.e coreference system, and then use a new projection algorithm to map the coreferring entities back from English into mention candidates detected in the Chinese and Arabic source. We compare to a baseline that just runs the English coreference system on the supplied parses for Chinese and Arabic. Because our method does not beat the baseline system on the development set, we submit outputs generated by the baseline system as our final submission.

In this paper, we present our system description in task of Cross-lingual Textual Entailment. The goal of this task is to detect entailment relations between two sentences written in different languages. To accomplish this goal, we first translate sentences written in foreign languages into English. Then, we use EDITS, an open source package, to recognize entailment relations. Since EDITS only draws monodirectional relations while the task requires bidirectional prediction, thus we exchange the hypothesis and test to detect entailment in another direction. Experimental results show that our method achieves promising results but not perfect results compared to other participants.

RGB and thermal source data suffer from both shared and specific challenges, and how to explore and exploit them plays a critical role to represent the target appearance in RGBT tracking. In this paper, we propose a novel challenge-aware neural network to handle the modality-shared challenges (e.g., fast motion, scale variation and occlusion) and the modality-specific ones (e.g., illumination variation and thermal crossover) for RGBT tracking. In particular, we design several parameter-shared branches in each layer to model the target appearance under the modality-shared challenges, and several parameter-independent branches under the modality-specific ones. Based on the observation that the modality-specific cues of different modalities usually contains the complementary advantages, we propose a guidance module to transfer discriminative features from one modality to another one, which could enhance the discriminative ability of some weak modality. Moreover, all branches are aggregated together in an adaptive manner and parallel embedded in the backbone network to efficiently form more discriminative target representations. These challenge-aware branches are able to model the target appearance under certain challenges so that the target representations can be learnt by a few parameters even in the situation of insufficient training data. From the experimental results we will show that our method operates at a real-time speed while performing well against the state-of-the-art methods on three benchmark datasets. This paper proposes a dual-band antenna based on the electromagnetic band gap structure suitable for WLAN communication systems. The proposed antenna is designed to work at 2.45/5.8 GHz WLAN band. By loading the EBG structure directly below a dual-frequency monopole antenna, the in-phase superposition of electromagnetic waves at the center frequency of the antenna is achieved. The antenna exhibits high gains of near 8.0 and 12.0 dB at the low and high working frequencies while maintaining the low profile characteristics.

A low-profile circularly polarized Metasurfaces antenna based on compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed was proposed. The Metasurfaces consists of 16 periodic square-cut metal patches. An hourglass coupled slot was adopted to achieve broadband impedance matching. The antenna has a simple structure and a low cross section, and it can be implemented by a layer of a printed circuit substrate. A circular polarized wave is generated by changing the size of the cut angle of the Metasurfaces, and at the same time, the impedance bandwidth can be widened. To verify the simulation results, a 1λ 0 ×1λ 0 ×0.05λ 0 (at 10 GHz) model antenna was fabricated and measured. The simulation and measurement results show good consistency. The test results show that the -10dB return loss bandwidth reaches 45.3 %, and the circular polarization axis ratio(AR) is less than 3dB with a bandwidth of 18.5%.

A hybrid twelve-antenna array operating in the 3.3-3.6 GHz and 4.8-5.0 GHz band for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) applications in 5G smartphones is proposed. The proposed hybrid antenna array elements are symmetrically placed along the long edges of the smartphone, and they are composed of two inverted-F antennas (IFA) with different structural parameters. Simulated antenna isolation is better than -14.5 dB without any decoupling structures. Moreover, simulated radiation patterns, antenna efficiencies, and envelop correlation coefficients are also given in the paper.

Due to the limitation of hardware resources, the traditional people flow monitoring system based on computer vision in public places can't meet different crowd-scale scenarios. Therefore, a people flow monitoring system based on MD-MCNN algorithm is designed, which is an application system combining the improved SSD object detection algorithm MNSSD and MCNN density map regression algorithm. In the initial stage, the system uses MNSSD for accurate detection and counting. If the people flow gradually reaches a certain threshold, the system automatically uses MCNN to estimate people flow until the people flow falls below the threshold. Through the experimental verification, the system can realize the people flow statistics of low-density and high-density people in different scenarios, and can be applied on the existing embedded platform. This scheme can be extended to smart cities, smart scenic spots, smart transportation and other fields. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper presents a novel filtration criterion to restrict the rule extraction for the hierarchical phrase-based translation model, where a bilingual but relaxed wellformed dependency restriction is used to filter out bad rules. Furthermore, a new feature which describes the regularity that the source/target dependency edge triggers the target/source word is also proposed. Experimental results show that, the new criteria weeds out about 40% rules while with translation performance improvement, and the new feature brings another improvement to the baseline system, especially on larger corpus. © 2010 Association for Computational Linguistics.
