In this paper, Eu0.5Tb0.5 (TTA)3 Bipy was synthesized and Eu0.5Tb0.5 (TTA)3 Bipy/PMMA was prepared by in-situ polymerization. The structure of Eu0.5Tb0.5 (TTA)3 Bipy/PMMA was characterized by FT-IR spectra. Microscopic morphology and photoluminescent properties were investigated by SEM photographs and fluorescence spectra. The results indicated that Eu0.5Tb0.5 (TTA)3 Bipy/PMMA could emit mostly characteristic fluorescence of europium ion and intense red fluorescence with peak wavelength at 612 nm and bandwidth of 10.4 nm (purity: 0.9908) under UV excitation at 365 nm. It was demonstrated that Eu0.5Tb0.5 (TTA)3 Bipy/PMMA was an excellent red photoluminescent rare-earth polymer material.

Monolithic AlN, Si3N4films and AlN/Si3N4multilayers with different modulation periods and modulation ratio of 1 were prepared by reactively magnetic sputtering. The films were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray reflectivity, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and nano-indentation test. The results show that AlN is crystalline and Si3N4is amorphous. The interface in the multilayers is very sharp. Monolithic and multilayers grow in a way of island. The surface roughness of the AlN/Si3N4multilayers is between that of monolithic AlN and Si3N4, and decreases as increase of modulation period. The hardness of AlN/Si3N4multilayers is about 3.5GPa higher than that calculated from the rule of mixtures. The superhardness effect was not observed.

Making use of the features of volumetric heating, good heating uniformity, fast heating speed and heating in selectivity etc., the microwave heating technique was used to 95-join Al2O3 to Al2O3 using the nanometer Si powders as the interlayer. The effects of the microwave power, sintering time and the microwave joining assembly on the joining interface were studied. The phase transformation in the interlayer was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the morphology near the interface was observed using the environment scanning electron microscopy (ESEM).

Based on forming technique of slurry casting, ZrO2 and Al2O3 ceramics were joined on the green state by microwave heating with ZrO2/Al2O3 interlayer. Microstructure analysis showed that particle sizes in interlayer were smaller than those in matrix and the structure of the joint was more homogeneous than that of the matrix materials and had no obvious cracks, pores and other defects. Fracture positions were at alumina matrix near alumina/interlayer interface, but not at interlayer or inlayer/matrix interface.

The different ceramics joining of 95-Al2O3 to Y-ZrO2 by microwave heating was successfully realized using SiC as the interlayer, providing another technique for joining different ceramics together. The microstructure of the interface was tested by scanning electron microscope. The phenomenon of elements diffusion were detected by electron dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) line scan across the joining interface and the joining mechanism was also analyzed.
