10kV cable joints often cause cable failures during operation due to cable breakage, limitations of traditional connection methods, quality problems at construction site, *** often lead to potential safety hazards, power outages for users, threats to the stable operation of the power grid, serious economic losses and other negative effects. This paper presents a design scheme of plug-in intermediate joint. The prefabricated intermediate joint designed in this scheme is simple in structure, convenient to carry, easy to operate and relatively easy to install, which reduces the operating difficulty of the construction personnel, and can improve the reliability of the intermediate joint to a certain extent. In this paper, a new type of 10kV prefabricated intermediate joint is designed. Two cables are inserted into the intermediate joint part and the plug-in part of the device respectively. The two cables are connected and connected through the copper tube guide inside the intermediate joint part, and then the intermediate joint part and the plug-in part are fixed. This scheme accelerates the recovery speed, saves manpower, shortens the operation time, greatly improves the work efficiency, greatly reduces the failure rate, and creates good conditions for the safe and stable operation of the medium and low voltage power grid. © 2023 SPIE. This paper proposes an advanced control strategy consisting of current stress optimization based on triple-phase-shifting (TPS) modulation for front-end DAB converter and 33% PWM method for back-end three-phase full bridge inverter. Compared with the traditional phase shift control, the control strategy proposed for the front-end DAB converter achieves linear control and significantly reduces current stress. In addition, it reduces the DC-Link capacitance, which improves the safety of the equipment. The 33% modulation method adopted by the full bridge inverter at the back-end reduces the switching loss of semiconductor devices. The principle, derivation and realization of the proposed control strategy are described in detail. Simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. © 2021 IEEE

In this article, we propose a data-driven solution to the output containment control problem of multiagent systems characterized by heterogeneous and unknown dynamics. The proposed data-driven scheme is hierarchical, which includes a network layer and a physical layer, bypassing the traditional modeling exercise and eliminating the need for explicit state-space models. In the network layer, a fully distributed observer without knowing the dynamics of leaders is designed to generate a containment trajectory. A data-driven approach based on data sampled from an auxiliary system is developed to overcome the dependence on the explicit state-space models for design of control gains. This paves the way for deriving a datadriven solution to the regulator equation, which is derived by employing the data informativity condition and relevant data in the physical layer. The results demonstrate that the closedloop system is asymptotically stable, and the regulated output containment converges to zero. Compared to generic modelbased hierarchical schemes, the assumptions that the system matrices are completely known and homogeneous on system dynamics can be relaxed. © 2024 IEEE.

The breakdown which caused by icing of transmission lines has been one of the serious disasters of power system. Superhydrophobic surfaces (SHS) which can delay icing process and has extremely low ice adhesion strength had a promising application in anti-icing field. In this work, superhydrophobic anti-icing surfaces were prepared on aluminum alloy by a method combination of chemical etching and anodization. The morphology, chemical composition and wettability of the SHS were investigated by using corresponding methods. The anti-icing behavior in glaze were investigated. The robustness of SHS was evaluated by cyclic icing/deicing tests. The as-prepared SHS exhibited outstanding superhydrophobicity and anti-icing property. The freezing of water droplet was delayed effectively. In addition, the fabricated anti-icing surface retained mechanical robustness after a number of icing/deicing cycles. After 30 cycles of icing/deicing, the ice adhesion strength kept below 70 kPa and the contact angle still kept above 150°. This work provides some useful advises for the design and fabrication of anti-icing surface. © 2021 IEEE.

With the swiftly development of polymer-based films capacitors, the energy loss or efficiency have fascinated much more focus on practical application. Lower energy storage efficiency means a large amount loss of electrical energy. In this study, the inorganic functional layer AIN is deposited on both sides of the linear dielectric PEN using magnetron sputtering. The results show that the growth of AIN inorganic layer with good insulating properties can lower the energy loss to a certain extent. The AIN/PEN/AIN multilayer composite films obtained energy storage performance at corresponding breakdown strength. The existence of the inorganic layer on the surface can inhibit the introduction of electrode charges, thereby reducing the energy loss. © 2022 IEEE.

The zinc oxide surge arrester is an important barrier to protect the power system from lightning, and maintaining its good thermal stability is of great significance for its safe operation. In this paper, the model of lightning arrester is established by finite element, the simulation calculation of the electrical-thermal characteristics under the impact of lightning current and large current is studied, the heating and heat dissipation characteristics of the arrester under different conditions are obtained, and the arrester is found in different environments Maximum operating temperature at temperature. And through the joint pressurization test, the temperature of the resistor sheet when the arrester thermally collapses under actual conditions is found, and the test results are in agreement with the simulation results. The research results show that if the zinc oxide resistor has a large amount of heat, poor heat dissipation from the resistor, and uneven electric field distribution, the arrester will reach the limit operating temperature. When the limit temperature is exceeded, the arrester will soon fall into thermal collapse and thermal fusion will occur. Wear, crack, and explode. Therefore, effective measures must be taken to improve the thermal stability of zinc oxide surge arresters. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper provides an adaptive Super-Twisting sliding mode control (STSMC) scheme based on a multi-feedback feature selection fuzzy neural network (MFFSFNN), aiming at tracking compensation current quickly and precisely and solving the harmonic current problem in the electrical grid. Because of its designed feedback loops and feature selection layer, it has the characteristics of signal filtering and feedback. Signal filtering helps MFFSFNN deal with external disturbances and model uncertainties with the capability of choosing valuable signals. Signal feedback plays an important role in expanding the learning dimension with the associative memory ability, thus raising approximation accuracy of the target system. Simulation study and comprehensive comparisons are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of performance using the proposed controller.

Energy storage (ES) has been recognized as one of the most promising technologies to cope with the increasing peakshaving challenge in high-penetration renewable power systems. With the restriction on the curtailment ratio of renewable power, how to find the minimal requirement of ES in the power systems is of great importance for secure and economic system operations. State-of-the-art stochastic and robust optimization methods are not well-behaved when coming to massive historical/prediction data. In this regard, we propose a simulation-based optimization algorithm with an iterative paradigm to analyze the minimal requirement of ES. First, the initial requirement to the energy capacity and rated power is obtained by solving a stochastic programming problem. Second, hourly chronological operational simulations on each historical/prediction scenario is conducted, thereby the expectation of the curtailment ratio is estimated. Third, the required size of ES is corrected according to the expected curtailment ratio. Repeat the chronological operational simulations and ES size corrections until the targeted curtailment ratio is satisfied. Numerical experiments using real data of a provincial power grid in China validate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm. © 2021 IEEE.

Pakistan faces severe air pollution and high dependency on imported fossil fuels for transportation, urgently needing solutions. Electrification of transportation could address these issues, but Pakistan lacks a clear roadmap for adopting electric vehicles. This paper examines the electrification of transportation in Pakistan, focusing on policies, technical aspects, and standards. It looks at best practices from developed countries and discusses incentives offered by the Pakistani government to boost electric vehicle adoption. The study also explores challenges and opportunities in adopting electric vehicles within existing power systems. A SWOT analysis is included, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to electric vehicle policies and market integration in Pakistan. By reviewing these factors, the paper provides insights into the obstacles and potential benefits of electric vehicle adoption. It also suggests ways for developing nations like Pakistan to encourage widespread use of electric vehicles, aiming to reduce fossil fuel dependency and meet environmental goals. © 2024

Steady-State Multi-Physics Coupling Analysis of Heat Pipe Cooled Reactor Core

Due to the advantages of mobility, safety and universality, the heat pipe reactors have great competitiveness in many applications such as strategic defense locations, remote communities, and emergency locations. In addition, most of the heat pipe reactors are designed as solid-state reactors, which avoid the two-phase flow problem caused by the coolant transformation and make it possible to analyze the reactor with multiple physical field coupling. In this work, a typical heat pipe reactor has been carried out a 3-D neutronic-thermal-mechanical analysis, and steady state analysis is performed by OpenMC coupled with COMSOL. Coupling calculation results show that under normal operation, the maximum temperature and thermal expansion of core is 1338.94 K and 2.53 mm. In the steady-state coupling process, the influence of temperature parameters on physical calculation is mainly reflected in k eff and its power level, the maximum temperature drops from 1347.26 K to 1338.94 K, but it has little influence on power distribution. By coupling calculations, the maximum stress of the reactor is reduced by 5.78 MPa. The research results will support the subsequent development of multi-physics coupled transient analysis code for heat pipe reactors. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
