This article shows a sensitivity-enhanced fiber grating voltage sensor based on giant magnetostrictive material using the edge demodulation system of multiple coarse wavelength division multiplexers (CWDMs). We firstly verified any number of CWDMs in series within 19 can enhance the sensitivity of this proposed sensor in theory. And the experimental result of voltage detection indicates this sensitivity of the sensor by using two CWDMs randomly as the demodulation system is 1.54 times that of this sensor by using a CWDM as the demodulation system, namely, the sensitivity of the proposed sensor can indeed be enhanced by using any two CWDMs as the demodulation system. This work opens a door for the practical usage of this proposed sensor in high-voltage detection of power grids. © 2020 IEEE.

The dielectric and charge properties of XLPE insulation with different service periods are important to estimate the aging state of high voltage cables. The accelerated aging experiment was carried out to obtain the aged XLPE samples with the needle-plate electrodes using power frequency AC source. The surface composition and dielectric parameters of XLPE samples were measured and analyzed with the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and impedance analyzer. The surface potential and trap distribution of XLPE samples were measured by the isothermal surface potential decay (ISPD) method. The tested objects include the new XLPE sample, the samples with different electrical tree lengths, and the one with electrical tree breakdown. The results show that the aging of the electrical tree changes the dielectric parameters and trap distribution of XLPE samples. The dielectric constant increases with the length of electrical tree. The deeper and shallower traps appear simultaneously in the surface layer of XLPE insulation after electrical tree aging, and the trap density increases with the length of electrical tree. The trap energy level is the lowest and the trap density is the largest in the sample with electrical tree breakdown. The FTIR result shows that the absorption peaks of XLPE backbone structure decline obviously after electrical tree aging. The fracture of molecular chain and formation of low density area in XLPE sample are the main reasons for the change of dielectric and trap after electrical tree aging. © 2021 IEEE.

SiO2 addition effect on electrical behaviour against current impulse in the ZnO varistors was investigated. SiO2 acts as a controller in ZnO grain growth, decreasing the grain size of ZnO from 8.87 to 5.86 µm, which in turn results in an increase in breakdown voltage E1mA from 192.77 to 252.57 V/mm. SiO2 has a significant influence on the current energy withstand capability and impulse aging characteristics. The results indicated that the SiO2 content was optimized at 1.5 mol%, exhibiting the best energy withstand capability of 332.03J/cm3 and clamping ratio of 1.71. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Part error will cause the assembly contact state between parts to deviate from the nominal state, resulting in error accumulation and propagation. Therefore, reasonable tolerance has to be applied to control the corresponding errors. Currently there are a number of tolerance analysis methods, however, most of them typically only consider dimensional and geometrical tolerances in the design phase. Analysis results without considering part deformation which was commonly observed in the realistic working conditions could lead to possible assembly failures. In this paper, both manufacturing and deformation errors are taken into account to establish a more comprehensive deviation calculation model based on Polytope-Skin Model Shape method. The total assembly error can be determined by calculating the Minkowski sum. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified in a case study about an assembly of one-joint manipulator in which the external force is the cause of the change on part shape and size. © 2020 The Authors. A hyperspectral inversion modeling method is proposed to predict the fat and protein content in milk by integrating SG, CR and XGBoost to address the drawbacks of traditional chemical methods for detecting fat and protein in milk, which require damage to the emulsion itself, complicated operation and environmental pollution. The method first combines Savitzky-Golay (SG) and Continuum-Removal (CR) to pre-process the hyperspectral data, and then uses Correlation-Analysis (CA) to screen the feature bands. Finally, the screened 10 feature bands are used as inputs to build partial least squares regression (PLSR) and XGBoost models, and the model prediction results are compared. The results show that the SG_CR algorithm is an effective hyperspectral preprocessing method to improve modeling accuracy, and the screening of feature bands can greatly reduce model complexity and improve model efficiency while ensuring model accuracy. Compared with the linear model PLSR, the machine learning integration algorithm XGBoost performed optimally. Its fat and protein models have training set coefficients of determination (R2) of 0.9449 and 0.9980, training set root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.2395 (g/100g) and 0.0409 (g/100g), training set relative analysis error (RPD) of 3.8188 and 22.2079, test set R2 of 0.8653 and 0.9273, test set RMSE were 0.4672 (g/100g), 0.2116 (g/100g), and test set RPD were 2.4625, 3.5998. © 2021 IEEE.

Research on Multi-objective Optimization of Capacity Allocation for marine Hybrid Energy Storage System

The hybrid energy storage system's allocation problem is a multi-target and multi-direction optimization problem. Single-objective allocation for the marine Hybrid Energy Storage System (MHESS) cannot help the hybrid energy storage system unit give play to its optimal effect. A diesel-electric hybrid ship is used as the object. In this paper, a mathematical model of a hybrid energy storage device is established, and multi-objective optimization allocation is performed on the model based on the NSGA-II. Finally, the optimized model is applied to a ship, and eleven kinds of batteries and six supercapacitors are selected for simulation. The simulation results show the relationship between the objective functions.

Experimental and numerical study was conducted to investigate the behavior of fuel elements and substitute material under severe fuel damage (SFD) accident conditions. The Fuel Rod Melt Progression Apparatus (FROMA) in XJTU make it possible to visualize many key phenomena during severe accident, such as eutectic melting, mass and temperature distribution of fuel rod, migration and relocation of molten material. In this paper, the melting behavior mechanism of fuel rod was studied using the new developed moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) method, which is called as MPS-CV. CV is the abbreviation of Control Volume method, and MPS-CV is a particle-grid hybrid method based on MPS method and Finite Volume Method (FVM). In this method, the momentum conservation equation was solved by MPS method and the energy conservation equation was solved by FVM. Therefore, MPS-CV solves the convective heat transfer problems exactly. MPS-CV method has been validated with the experimental data from FORMA. Results show that the melting behavior of nuclear reactor fuel rod at high temperature can be easily simulated using the MPS-CV method. The research reveals the mechanism of fuel rod behavior under severe accidents and reduces the uncertainty of existing accident analysis codes. © 2019 American Nuclear Society. All rights reserved.

Particulate matter (PM) collected from electrostatic precipitator (ESP) and wet electrostatic precipitator (WESP) of a demonstration ultra-low emission coal-fired power plant in China were systematically collected and well characterized. The results indicated that alumina-silicates were the dominate phase mineral compositions in the fly ashes from ESP, and all the particles present as isolated fine particles without any agglomeration. The amount of fine particles from WESP were extremely small. The physicochemical characteristics were distinct from that in ESP. Some alkali metal contained minerals were found in the particles from WESP besides alumina silicate. Meanwhile, Ca and S content obviously decrease in comparison to that in the fly ash from ESP. Further, most particles were in size of 50nm -500nm, which was obviously smaller than that in ESP. However, a large fraction of the particles agglomerated together. The phenomena of agglomeration not only existed between the large particles and fine particles, but also existed between fine particles and fine particles. The obvious agglomeration phenomena indicated that ultra-fine particles would get together and grow up to larger particles, which would be much easier to be removed by the WESP. Co, Cu, Zn, Ga, Mo, Cd, Sb, Ba, W, Re, Tl, Pb, Bi and U were both enriched in fly ash and slag. However, those elements were more likely to be enriched in fly ash than that in slag. Some of the elements including Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Th, U, Nb, Ta, Zr, and Hf were neither enriched nor depleted in the fly ash and the slag. Arsenic was obviously enriched in PM wherever it is collected. The RE of As in the PM2.5 from SCR outlet was as high as 40, and that in PM1 was about 25. When the flue gas passed through the ESP, the EF of As decreased a lot. While EF of arsenic increased again when the flue gas passed through the WESP, and the EF of As in PM2.5 and PM1 exceeded 60. We demonstrate a typical Mott-Schottky electrocatalyst by ingeniously encasing Co/Co3O4 hetero-nanoparticles within the inner tips of N-doped carbon nanotubes (abbreviated as Co/Co3O4@N-CNTs hereafter) through a facile and scalab.e hydrogel-bridged pyrolysis strategy. Experimental and theoretical findings collectively manifest that the spontaneous charge redistribution at the Co/Co3O4 heterointerfaces is essential to promote the charge transfer capability, lower down the reaction barriers for oxygen electrocatalysis, and ultimately boost the intrinsic activities. Accordingly, the well-designed Co/Co3O4@N-CNTs exhibit admirable ORR and OER activities and long-term robustness in KOH medium, exceeding the commercial Pt/C and RuO2 benchmarks, respectively. Furthermore, the Co/Co3O4@N-CNTs-assembled flexible all-solid-state zinc-air battery displays a high power density, remarkable rate capability, excellent rechargeablity and outstanding mechanical flexibility even under severe deformations, predicting the great potentials in diverse next-generation wearable electronic devices. The rationale of the construction of Mott-Schottky heterojunctions may provide an innovative and instructive avenue to design diversified energy nanomaterials. © 2022, The Authors. Photocatalysis is considered an economical, environmentally friendly, and effective technology for removing pollutants. The construction of Z-Scheme heterojunctions has been identified as one of the feasible solutions capable of enhancing the photocatalytic activity. Herein, a series of visible light responsive photocatalysts (NiIn 2 S 4 /Uio-66 composites) with excellent activity and stability were prepared by using a solvothermal process. It is found that 20 mg L -1 of tetracycline (TC) could be completely degraded under visible light irradiation within 1 h, when the mass ratio of NiIn 2 S 4 to Uio-66 is 0.5:1 (NISU-0.5) and the solution pH=11. In addition, after six cycles, the degradation rate of tetracycline photocatalyzed by NISU-0.5 still reach up to 90%. Ultraviolet photoelectron spectra (UPS), X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) and electron spin resonance measurements (ESR) confirm the formation of the Z-Scheme heterostructure between NiIn 2 S 4 and Uio-66. The synergistic effect between built-in electric field, energy band bending and coulomb interactions in interface of Z-Scheme heterojunction is conducive to restrain the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes, which greatly improve the photocatalytic activity. In conclusion, this study offers a new thought for design and synthesis of Z-Scheme heterojunctions and provides a cost-effective strategy for solving environmental pollution and energy problems in the future. © 2022, The Authors.
