Frequency synthesizer plays an important role in frequency hopping communication system. In this paper, we derivate the conditions for a system to become the chaotic based on the phase model of phase-locked synthesizer. We found that the system parameter changing during the frequency switching is able to make the system to be chaotic. Based on the Cao's method [5], we find that the fractal dimension of the transient signals should be equal to or less than 4, which also provides the maximal positive Lyapunov exponent. In addition, the unique double-ring attractor of them is also reproduced through the phase reconstruction, which also implies that the frequency switching will result in a chaotic for Frequency-Hopping Communication system. © 2014 IEEE.

A Learning Evasive Email-Based P2P-Like Botnet

Nowadays, machine learning is widely used in malware detection system as a core component. The machine learning algorithm is designed under the assumption that all datasets follow the same underlying data distribution. But the real-world malware data distribution is not stable and changes with time. By exploiting the knowledge of the machine learning algorithm and malware data concept drift problem, we show a novel learning evasive botnet architecture and a stealthy and secure C&C mechanism. Based on the email communication channel, we construct a stealthy email-based P2 P-like botnet that exploit the excellent reputation of email servers and a huge amount of benign email communication in the same channel. The experiment results show horizontal correlation learning algorithm is difficult to separate malicious email traffic from normal email traffic based on the volume features and time-related features with enough confidence. We discuss the malware data concept drift and possible defense strategies.

Addressing the extremely high reliability is a critical problem of wireless control system in actual industrial applications. In this paper fully considering the characteristics of the wireless network transmission and industrial automation application, a grouping TDMA access approach based on multiple access points is proposed. The main idea is that: redundant multiple access points are applied in communication to improve the system reliability, multiple time synchronizations are made because of beacon frames of multiple access points to improve the accuracy, and ACK is replied by reliable access point to reduce retransmission and improve resource utilization. Finally, a corresponding access device is designed and implemented. Experiments show that it can meet the harsh requirements for the communication in control loops and demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Least squares support vector machines(LSSVM) has a good performance in small data samples, but can't solve the large-scale sample problems. In this paper, large data set sparse least squares support vector machines model based on stochastic entropy is proposed, and it can be applied to large-scale data samples. Firstly, the large-scale data set is divided into several subsets. Then the entropy method is used to the sparse samples in each subset. Finally, we use sparse samples sets as training samples, and use least squares support vector machine algorithm to train. The results show that the sparse least squares support vector machine model based on entropy can effectively solve the problem of large-scale data.

Reliability evaluation combines the concept of severity of the accident consequence and the likelihood of it occurring. The severity of the accident consequence caused by transmission lines malfunction has rarely been considered in the existing contingency screening technique. This paper proposed a fast contingency filtering technique for transmission system reliability evaluation based on vulnerability analysis. The influence of faulty transmission lines on the severity of accident consequence is described by functional factors based on the vulnerability analysis. The sequence of transmission lines is ordered by the severity coefficients determined by state probabilities or functional factors of the faulty lines or both of them. Contingency states are searched and ranked based on the sequence of transmission lines. Three severity coefficients for a line are defined and examined based on reliability and functional factors. The merits of the proposed techniques and severity coefficients are validated by evaluating the IEEE-RTS79 test system. © 2016 IEEE.

Cascading failure is an intrinsic threat of power grid to cause enormous cost of society, and it is very challenging to be analyzed. The risk of cascading failure depends both on its probability and the severity of consequence. It is impossible to analyze all of the intrinsic attacks, only the critical and high probability initial events should be found to estimate the risk of cascading failure efficiently. To recognize the critical and high probability events, a cascading failure analysis model for power transmission grid is established based on complex network theory (CNT) in this paper. The risk coefficient of transmission line considering the betweenness, load rate and changeable outage probability is proposed to determine the initial events of power grid. The development tendency of cascading failure is determined by the network topology, the power flow and boundary conditions. The indicators of expected percentage of load loss and line cut are used to estimate the risk of cascading failure caused by the given initial malfunction of power grid. Simulation results from the IEEE RTS-79 test system show that the risk of cascading failure has close relations with the risk coefficient of transmission lines. The value of risk coefficient could be useful to make vulnerability assessment and to design specific action to reduce the topological weakness and the risk of cascading failure of power grid. © 2016 IEEE.

Recently biosensors based on silicon nanowire field-effect transistors (SiNW-FETs) have drawn huge amounts of attention, due to their ultrasensitivity, selectivity, lab.l-free and real-time detection abilities. As people know more and more knowledge of the structure and function of nucleic acid molecules, DNA detection has gained importance increasingly. Here, we briefly summarize major fabrication methods in synthesising SiNW-FETs and selectively describe some applications of SiNW-FET biosensors in DNA detection over the past few years. Some key results from each article are summarized, involving the concept and mechanism behind each sensor, with the aim of stimulating more efforts in developing SiNW-FET biosensors for detecting DNA. © 2012 Crown Copyright.

This paper investigates problem of circulating current between the output terminals of parallel converters in DC microgrid system. The dynamic regulation droop control proposes a drooping coefficient with real-time variation to minimize the circulating current. By monitoring the voltage deviation of the converter output port, the dynamic droop coefficient is accurately corrected so that the circulating current in the parallel converter system can be stably and well controlled. Matlab.simulation results analysis, compared with the traditional control method, the circulating current problem has been improved. © 2019 IEEE.

Extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm can be used as a model-based approach to estimate the state of charge (SOC) of batteries, and the accuracy of SOC estimation can be affected by the error of battery model. Moreover, a large current or current change leads to a large model error. A fuzzy dual Kalman filter (Fuzzy-DKF) algorithm was proposed to estimate SOC in this paper. Specifically, Thevenin equivalent circuit model was established, and was transformed to autoregressive exogenous (ARX) model, the parameters of ARX model were identified by Kalman filter (KF) algorithm;current and current change were monitored in real time and a fuzzy control system was built to reduce the impact of model error by modifying Kalman gain;EKF algorithm was adopted to estimate SOC. The results indicate that the accuracy of SOC estimation based on Fuzzy-DKF algorithm is better than the accuracy of SOC estimation based on EKF algorithm or dual Kalman filter (DKF) algorithm. © 2019 IEEE.

At present, most feature-based SLAM methods are based on feature points. But in indoor environments where texture is scarce and light varies greatly, these methods will reduce the accuracy of pose estimation or even lead to pose tracking failure. To tackle the above problem, we propose an improved RGB-D SLAM method which employs point-line-plane feature extraction and matching as well as Manhattan Frames-based rotation estimation. Finally, the proposed method is proven to have good reliability and robustness in open datasets and real indoor scenes. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
