Hydrogen energy, a type of green secondary energy, has attracted much attention in recent years. The production of hydrogen by water electrolysis is less harmful to the environment and makes it possible to obtain hydrogen with a high degree of purity. But it requires a lot of electricity and is expensive. Installed capacity and the share of electricity generation from new energy sources have increased recently. The "double high" trend in the power system is becoming apparent. The combination of new energy power generation and hydrogen production by water electrolysis can not only promote the absorption of new energy power generation, but also reduce the cost of hydrogen production. The conventional thyristor power supply system for hydrogen production has low power factor and poor harmonic performance, which cannot meet the requirements of the new power system. Hydrogen production power supply based on fully controlled devices is gradually becoming mainstream. In this paper, the low voltage ride through capability and the reactive power support function for the power grid of hydrogen production power supply based on fully controlled devices are verified by simulation. For both symmetrical and asymmetrical faults, the hydrogen production power supply can ride through the fault.

The battery differences not only affect the reliability and security of battery packs but also accelerate the decline of the packs' life. Although battery management systems (BMS) and equalization circuit can be used to balance the differences, only the whole battery pack can be protected with high-cost and complex circuits. Dynamic reconfigurable battery management system (DRBMS) based on networked control has a simple principle and can shield the differences of battery cells. This paper designs experiments for the dynamic reconfigurable battery network technology and makes a contrast with the traditional BMS. Through the analysis of voltage, SOC difference and dynamic resistance during charging and discharging, the results show that DRBMS has better voltage and capacity equalization effect than BMS. The cells of paralleled battery packs can be fully charged/released in DRBMS. It is also verified that DRBMS is applicable on decommissioned bus battery packs which are of larger differences and the ladder utilization. © 2019 IEEE.

In order to improve the safety of UAS flight, an autonomous flight UAS geofence algorithm is proposed. Firstly, by scaling the original geofence, a geofence pre-control-layer generation algorithm is proposed. Then, the buffer is added on the basis of traditional ray method to solve the problem of misjudgement of intersection points. The improved ray casting algorithm is used to detect the violation of geofence, and a re-planning method of the violating waypoints is proposed for the UAS with violating danger. The corresponding control law of boundary maintaining autonomous controls is designed. simulation results both show that the UAS can modify the original flight path as little as possible on the basis of avoiding the violation of the geofence, and the proposed geofence algorithm is effective and can ensure the flight safety of autonomous UAS in geo-fence. © 2019 IEEE.

The integrated Energy system (IES) becomes very important nowadays, however, the coupling between multiple energy systems will bring new challenges to the security control of the IES, such as combined heat and power (CHP) system. The corrective control means that the operations can be adjusted after contingency happens to eliminate the constraints violation in the contingency state such as the transmission outage or generator outage. This paper proposes a corrective control approach for CHP system integrated with the energy storage system based on security constrained economic dispatch (SCED) model. Case studies based on the IEEE 9-bus CHP system are presented to verify the method. The case result shows that the energy storage device can solve the ramping of the unit's output adjustment well. The corrective control method is more scientific and economical. © 2019 IEEE.

Vulnerability assessment is the key to the security and stability analysis of power system. During the operation of power grid, the fault risk of electrical equipment is not fixed because of the influence of system operating conditions, operating environment and equipment itself, so the vulnerability of power system will also be changeable. Based on the existing research results of complex network theory, a vulnerability assessment method considering operational reliability is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the basic idea of reliability weighted vulnerability assessment is introduced. Then HITS algorithm and PageRank algorithm will be used to analyze the basic vulnerability of power grid topology. Moreover, the vulnerability index of power grid considering reliability weighted is calculated. Finally, numerical analysis focusing on the difference between basic and improved assessment method is tested in IEEE RTS-79 system, and the preventive planning suggestions will be given based on the vulnerability assessment results.

Reliability assessment is the key to ensure the security of power system, however, the rapid development of "source-network-load-storage" cause enormous obstacle to the traditional reliability method. A improved method for reliability assessment of generation and transmission systems is proposed in this paper which lays importance on the coordinate operation and uncertainty of "source-network-load-storage". Firstly, the reliability and operation model of "source-network-load- storage" is proposed to handle certain novel elements. Then the reliability assessment with operation simulation is proposed to make balance between generation and load under uncertainty. Finally, numerical analysis focusing on the different form and proportion of "source-network-load-storage" is tested in IEEE RTS-79 system so as to demonstrate the practicality and effectiveness of the improved method. © 2019 IEEE.

The traditional non-communication protection for distribution system is only applicable to fault feeders in neutral effectively grounded distribution system or the phase-to-phase fault feeders in neutral non-effectively grounded distribution system. For single-phase-to-ground fault feeders in the latter system, the protection will fail to operate because the magnitude of the current flow in the fault-to-ground connection is too small. To solve this problem, this paper presents a new non-communication protection compatible with the fault detection principle based on comparing the polarities of the initial voltage and current traveling waves. In this technique, when a single-phase-to-ground fault occurs, the relays which detect the fault is in the forward direction will operate based on the conventional time grading coordination at first, after one relay makes tripping decision which has the fastest time setting, the relay on the opposite side will detect the sound phase current changes in a time window to accelerate the operation. Extensive Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP) simulation studies with respect to a typical double end feeder system whose neutral is non-effectively grounded show that the proposed technique is able to fast and accurately remove a single-phase-to-ground fault line section from both ends.
