TiFe alloy was prepared directly by electrolytic reduction from the mixture of TiO2 and Fe2O3 in molten CaCl2 at 1173 K and 3.1 V. The reduced product was TiFe with an oxygen content of 0.43% in mass fraction after electrolyzing for 10 h. The whole electrolysis process, roughly, includes two periods: The reduction of Fe element and the forming of TiFe. In the initial stage of electrolysis, Fe element is reduced first prior to titanium and CaTiO3 is formed. Then the external cathode is reduced to TiFe. Meanwhile, the cathode is layered: The external loose layer mainly contains TiFe and the inner layer, which is much harder and more compact, chiefly consists of Fe and CaTiO3. Electrochemical behavior test shows that the discharge capacity of TiFe alloy produced by electrolysis without activation is about 33 mAhg-1 and TiFe alloy by this performance is better than those prepared by other methods.

In this paper the Morphological Quotient Image (MQI) based on close and open operation are compared, and the more effective operation is chosen. Furthermore, the influence of template size to recognition rate is studied. For different size of face images, the optimal template is obtained by experiment using Yale face database B. The optimal template is tested using CMU-PIE database and the experimental result is encouraging.

This paper considers cycle slipping of discrete phase-controlled system with periodic nonlinearity. The number of slipped cycles is an important characteristic of such nonlinear system. Based on Yakubovich-Kalman Lemma which establishes the equivalence between frequency domain inequalities(FDIs) and linear matrix inequalities(LMIs), the conditions of estimating the number of slipped cycles are derived. Then dynamic output feedback controller is designed to guarantee the nonexistence of cycle slipping. As a result, the transient performance of discrete phase-controlled system is improved. A concrete application to impulse phase-locked loop (PLL) shows the applicability and validity of the proposed approach.

As embedded systems geting increasingly complex, preemption overheads become a serious load problem for many microchip-based application specific systems, and sometimes may even jeopardize the system schedulab.lity. This paper presents a dynamic preemption threshold scheduling (DPT) that integrates preemption threshold scheduling into the earliest deadline first The DPT scheduling can effectively reduce context switching by threads assignment and changing task dynamic preemption threshold at runtime. Meanwhile, because the algorithm is based on dynamic scheduling, it can achieve higher processor utilization with relatively low costs in preemption switching and memory requirements. The DPT scheduling can also perfectly schedule a mixed task set with preemptive and non-preemptive tasks, and subsumes both as special cases.
