This paper studies the robust reliable tracking controller design problem against actuator faults for linear parameter varying (LPV) systems. First, model of actuator faults is presented. Then a reliable robust tracking controller design method is developed. This method is based on a newly proposed stability condition for LPV systems, which is a more general condition than the existed results. An important contribution of this method is that it could handle the actuator outage faults case without performance degradation due to the extra freedom degree introduced by a new slack variable in the stability condition. An example for autopilot design of a bank-to-turn (BTT) missile is given to show the effectiveness and superiority of our method.

This paper is concerned with the problem of smooth switching state feedback controller design for aircraft dynamic systems with multiple operating points. Based on the theory of robust control, a single state feedback controller which considers the pole placement requirements and smooth switching is constructed. With the constant controller, the closed-loop system can track a given reference signal with desired performance during the whole operating range. Furthermore, an important superiority of this presented method compared to traditional method is that the output chattering can be considerably reduced by the designed constant controller in the switching process when the flight condition changes. An example for autopilot design of a BTT missile is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Component-based synthesis is an important research field in program synthesis. API-based synthesis is a subfield of component-based synthesis, the component library of which are Java APIs. Unlike existing work in API-based synthesis that can only generate loop-free programs constituted by APIs, state-of-The-Art work FrAngel can generate programs with control structures. However, for the generation of control structures, it samples different types of control structures all at random. Given the information about the desired method (such as method name and input/output types), experienced programmers can have an initial thought about the possible control structures that could be used in implementing the desired method. The knowledge about control structures in the method can be learned from high-quality projects. In this paper, we propose a novel approach of recommending control structures for API-based synthesis based on deep learning. A neural network that can jointly embed the natural language description, method name, and input/output types into high-dimensional vectors to predict the possible control structures of the desired method is proposed. We integrate the prediction model into the synthesizer to improve the efficiency of synthesis. We train our model on a codebase of high-quality Java projects from GitHub. The prediction results of the neural network are fed to the API-based synthesizer to guide the sampling process of control structures. The experimental results on 40 programming tasks show that our approach can effectively improve the efficiency of synthesis. © 2020 ACM.

This paper considers the stabilization of a class of uncertain chaotic systems. A robust adaptive sliding-mode controller is proposed to suppress the chaotic systems with uncertain systematic parameter vectors and unknown bound on external disturbances. The obtained systems have the desired sliding-mode dynamics, which prescribes the asymptotic stability and robustness against uncertainties. The adaption laws, designed for identification of unknown parameters, are convergent with the Lyapunov stability theory. Finally numerical simulation of Genesio-Tesi system and Lorenz system verifies the effectiveness of this proposed control scheme.

systems development needs to reconcile views from many roles, such as domain experts and engineers. A particular challenge is the multitude of models for requirements and quality, which can get time consuming and error prone to trace, change, and verify. In this paper we introduce an ontology-supported component-based systems engineering approach for the production automation domain that describes explicitly stakeholder quality requirements and traces design decisions to generate new system and software versions that implement these requirements. The ontology approach is expected to allow continuous modeling and extracting model views for all roles involved to a) improve the quality assurance of system requirements;b) support more explicit feedback on the quality of intermediate models during systems development;and c) provide better auditing capabilities of the systems development process. Based on an industry case study, we describe the ontology concept of the system, the development process, and how software quality can be measured and improved. Copyright 2008 ACM.

Buildings are important contributors to energy consumption accounting for around one-third of energy consumed in cities, where large public buildings are the dominant energy consumers and energy consumption might be significantly decreased through Building Energy Management systems (BEMS). A supervisory and management system for energy conservation in large public buildings is presented in this paper, with a PC or a embedded computer system running a BEMS software designed to connected to distributed energy metering system, wireless sensor networks, even conventional building automation (BA) systems. The supervisory and management software consists of information inquiry, energy consumption metering, energy efficiency analysis and decision support subsystems. The system framework is introduced with development and application of the software described in detail. © 2010 IEEE.

Requirements engineering is essentially a social collab.rative activity in which involved stakeholders have to closely work together to communicate, elicit, negotiate, define, confirm, and finally come up with the requirements for the system to be implemented or upgraded. In the development of large and complex systems, with a huge number of uncertain stakeholders, the requirements engineering process becomes a challenging task due to overwhelming and dynamic social interactions, tradeoffs, and collective decisions made by above stakeholders. Traditional approaches and techniques are deficient in supporting this kind of social interactions in requirements-related activities, and managing the evolving requirements and their traceability caused by the social interactions. This paper proposes to address the challenges in the pre-requirements analysis of large and complex systems by employing the techniques from collective intelligence based on Web 2.0 tools and technologies, which is composed of three steps: first, obtain collective requirements knowledge through collab.rative tagging by stakeholders;second, transform collab.rative requirement tags into requirement ontologies;third, support collective requirement decision-making (i.e., collective intelligence) based on the requirement ontologies through requirements reasoning. © 2010 ACM.

In this article, we study the formation problem for a group of mobile agents in a plane, in which the agents are required to maintain a distribution pattern, as well as to rotate around or remain static relative to a static/moving target. The prescribed distribution pattern is a class of general formations where the distances between neighboring agents or the distances between each agent and the target do not need to be equal. Each agent is modeled as a double integrator and can merely perceive the relative information of the target and its neighbors, and the acceleration of the target. In order to solve the formation problem, a limit-cycle-based controller design is delivered. We divide the overall control objective into two subobjectives, where the first is target circling that each agent keeps its own desired distance to the static/moving target as well as rotating around or remaining static relative to the target as expected, and the second is distribution adjustment that each agent maintains the desired distance to its neighbors. Then, we propose a controller comprised of two parts, where a limit cycle oscillator named a converging part is designed to deal with the first subobjective, while a layout part is introduced to address the second subobjective. One key merit of the controller is that it can be implemented by each agent in its local frame so that only local information is utilized without knowing global information. Theoretical analysis of the convergence to the desired formation, of which the agents are required to be evenly distributed on a circle around the target, is provided for the multiagent system under the proposed controller. Numerical simulations are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for the cases of general formations, and to show that no collision between agents ever takes place throughout the system's evolution. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

A new tuning method for designing fractional order PID controllers based on radial basis function (RBF) neural networks is presented in this paper. Though fractional order PID controllers can provide better control for dynamical systems, the difficulties of designing them increase. This paper deals with the design of fractional order PID controllers by first using an existed tuning method, and then taking advantage of good approximation ability of RBF neural networks to establish a mapping relationship between plant parameters and the parameters of fractional order PID controller. The greatest advantage of this method is that the controller could be easily obtained from plant parameters with good performance of closed-loop system. Simulation results for both integer-order plant and fractional-order plant show the proposed method is highly effective. © 2010 IEEE.

Federated learning is a privacy-preserving machine learning paradigm where a global model is trained collab.ratively across resource-limited devices such as mobile phones, wearable devices, and sensors while the training data remains on these devices. Recently proposed asynchronous federated learning framework FedAsync has addressed the problems occurred in synchronous federated learning such as wasting time waiting for all nodes to finish uploading or losing parts of the contribution of nodes due to some unexpected reasons. However, on the server-side, it is not suitable for concurrency due to the data race on the global model. We proposed a method named FedCrowd, where the server's concurrency is improved by elab.rately coordinating the working threads to relieve the data race on the global model. Several experiments are performed to show that our method could effectively increase concurrency of the server and reduce the training time. © 2022 IEEE.
