The problem of extending description logics with uncertainty has received significant attention in recent years. In this paper, we investigate a probabilistic extension of DL-Lite, a family of tractable description logics. We first present a new probabilistic semantics for terminological knowledge bases based on the notion of types. The semantics proposed is not capable of handling assertional knowledge. In order to reason with both terminological and assertional probabilistic knowledge, we propose a probabilistic semantics based on a finite semantics for DL-Lite called features. This approach enables us to infer new information from the existing knowledge base by drawing on the inherent relation between a probabilistic TBox and a probabilistic ABox. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

According to the standard for the GSM for railway(GSM-R) wireless systems in China train control system level 3(CTCS-3),the control data transfer delay should be no larger than 500 ms with greater than99% *** of both non-redundant networks and intercross redundant networks and cases of single Mobile terminals(MTs) and redundant MTs on one train are considered,and the corresponding vehicle-ground communication models,delay models,and fault models are *** simulation results confirm that the transfer delay can meet the standard requirements under all *** particular,the probability is greater than 99.996% for redundant MTs and networks,and the standard of transfer delay in CTCS-3 will be improved inevitably.

An increasing number of applications in physical and social sciences require the analysis of large graphs. The efficiency of these programs strongly depends on their memory usage especially the locality of graph data access. Intuitively, the locality in computation should reflect the locality in graph topology. Existing locality models, however, operate either at program level for regular loops and arrays or at trace level for arbitrary access streams. They are not sufficient to characterize the relation between locality and connectivity. This paper presents a new metrics called the vertex distance and uses it to model the locality in breadth-first graph traversal (BFS). It shows three models that use the average node degree and the edge distribution to predict the number of BFS levels and the reuse distance distribution of BFS. Finally, it evaluates the new models using random and non-random graphs. © 2012 IEEE.

software developers can search, share and learn development experience, solutions, bug fixes and open source projects in software information sites such as StackOverflow and Freecode. Many software information sites rely on tags to classify their contents, i.e. software objects, in order to improve the performance and accuracy of various operations on the sites. The quality of tags thus has a significant impact on the usefulness of these sites. High quality tags are expected to be concise and can describe the most important features of the software objects. © 2017 IEEE.

We introduce a novel intelligent system which can generate new Chinese calligraphic artwork that meets certain aesthetic requirements automatically. In the machine learning phase, parametric representations of existent calligraphic artwork are derived from input images of calligraphy. Using a six-level hierarchical representation, the acquired knowledge is organized as a small structural stroke database, which is then exploited by a constraint-based analogous reasoning component to create artwork in new styles. A set of geometric constraints is proposed and incorporated into the system for rejecting the aesthetically unacceptable results. The combination of knowledge from various input sources creates a huge space for the intelligent system to explore and produce new calligraphy.

Component-based synthesis is an important research field in program synthesis. API-based synthesis is a subfield of component-based synthesis, the component library of which are Java APIs. Unlike existing work in API-based synthesis that can only generate loop-free programs constituted by APIs, state-of-The-Art work FrAngel can generate programs with control structures. However, for the generation of control structures, it samples different types of control structures all at random. Given the information about the desired method (such as method name and input/output types), experienced programmers can have an initial thought about the possible control structures that could be used in implementing the desired method. The knowledge about control structures in the method can be learned from high-quality projects. In this paper, we propose a novel approach of recommending control structures for API-based synthesis based on deep learning. A neural network that can jointly embed the natural language description, method name, and input/output types into high-dimensional vectors to predict the possible control structures of the desired method is proposed. We integrate the prediction model into the synthesizer to improve the efficiency of synthesis. We train our model on a codebase of high-quality Java projects from GitHub. The prediction results of the neural network are fed to the API-based synthesizer to guide the sampling process of control structures. The experimental results on 40 programming tasks show that our approach can effectively improve the efficiency of synthesis. © 2020 ACM.

In Geographic Information system (GIS), fast and efficiently indexing moving objects are a crucial issue in several application domains, such as LBS, Intelligence Transportation and Digital Battle. In this paper, a new index structure, PQR-tree, is proposed to fast update and efficiently index the present or near future positions of constrained moving objects based on the characters of moving objects. PQR-tree is an integrated tree structure which combined PMR Quadtree, Quadtree and R*-tree together. Firstly, QR-tree which combined Quadtree and R*-tree is used to carry out rough level partition for index space based on range region. Next, an R*-tree is used to index quasi-static objects for each subspace. Then, using a splitting rule of PMR Quadtree to carry further level partition for index space based on road networks and all fast moving objects are related to the road networks. The experimental results show that PQR-tree achieves better performance for index updating and query evaluation than TPR-tree. © 2006 IEEE.

In order to improve stimulus-response compatibility of touchpad in pen-based user interface, we present the tilt cursor, i.e. a cursor dynamically reshapes itself to providing the 3D orientation cue of pen. We also present two experiments that evaluate the tilt cursor?s performance in circular menu selection and specific marking menu selection tasks. Results show that in a specific marking menu selection task, the tilt cursor significantly outperforms the shape-fixed arrow cursor and the live cursor [4]. In addition, results show that by using the tilt cursor, the response latencies for adjusting drawing directions are smaller than that by using the other two kinds of cursors. © Copyright 2007 ACM.

The morphable modeling method of reconstructing 3D human face is based on a single given image, and the model fitting is ambiguous owing to the lack of depth information and geometry constraints between images. In this paper, we introduce a new face reconstruction method from multiple views based on the morphable model. The morphable face model is matched with multiple face images from different views. Using the multi-view geometry constraints, the ambiguity is efficiently eliminated and more realistic results are provided. We test our algorithm on the MPI face database and real images from our multi-camera system. The experimental results show the efficiency of the proposed method. © 2010 IEEE.

software reuse offers a solution to eliminate repeated work and improve efficiency and quality in the software development. In order to reuse existing software resources, software developers usually need to understand code structure of them. However, code structure is usually too complex to figure out. Therefore, it is helpful to demonstrate software developers the code structure they want to know. This paper presents a graph database based crowdsourcing infrastructure for modelling and searching code structure. In this paper, a graph based modelling paradigm of code structure is provided, which solves the problem that how code structure should be demonstrated. software developers' search purposes are analyzed by natural language processing technique. A crowdsourcing mechanism is provided to integrate different code structure analysis algorithms for these different search purposes. Our work improves the efficiency of software reuse, and it is validated through an industrial case study. © 2014 ACM.
