This paper proposes the MDMA (Multi-dimensional Distributed Mining Association rules) algorithm based on advanced SQL query. The algorithm works on star-style structure networks. It uses CUBE operator in new standard SQL and combines with SQL powerful query function. So there is no need for the proposed algorithm to conduct a great deal of iterations to generate frequent itemsets in the process of mining association rules. Therefore, no matter what the number of the site in the distributed environments and the scale of the local database in the local site is, the algorithm always needs only two times of scanning the database and only three times of network communications to generate all the global frequent itemsets. Consequently, this algorithm has the merits of light network traffic, low time cost, better scalab.lity and more simplicity. © 2009 IEEE.

In this paper, we explore the problem of tag ranking by propagating relevance over community-contributed images and their associated tags. To rank the tags more accurately, we propose a novel tag ranking scheme through a two-stage graph-based relevance propagation approach. The first stage constructs a tag graph on each image and implements a random walk process on it in order to get the initial relevance of each tag for one image and the second stage builds a κNN-sparse image graph and propagates the relevance of tags among the web images. The proposed approach is purely data-driven, since the explicit relevance models between tags and images are not assumed. More importantly, compared to existing tag ranking approaches, we propose to leverage the relevance propagation over two graphs, which take into count not only the relationship among tags but also the relationship among images. Extensive experiments have conducted on the NUS-WIDE dataset have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed approach. Copyright © 2012 ACM.

For parallel applications running on high-performance clusters, performance is usually satisfied without paying much attention to energy consumption. In this paper, we develop a new scheduling algorithm called Energy efficient Scheduling Algorithm based on DVS and Dynamic threshold (ESADD), which combines dynamic threshold-based task duplication strategy with dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) technique. It first exploits an optimal threshold to get the optimal task grouping and leverage task duplication algorithm to reduce schedule length and communication energy, and then schedules the applications on DVS-enabled processors that can scale down their voltages to reduce computation energy whenever tasks have slack time due to task dependencies. Using simulations we show our algorithm not only maintains good performance, but also has a good improvement on energy efficiency for parallel applications. © 2011 IEEE.

This paper presents a hybrid short-term traffic flow forecast technology. For the uncertainty, the short-term traffic flow forecast is complicated, and the accuracy is not high. This strategy combines the RBF neural network and ant colony clustering algorithm to forecast the traffic flow. It used ant colony clustering algorithm to get the centers of hidden layer neurons. To find the best clustering result, local search is used in ant colony algorithm. The model has strong local generalization abilities and high accuracy. The simulation experiment results illuminate that the application is fairly effective. © 2009 IEEE.

Along with the rapid growth of the number of the availab.e web services over the internet, the quality of services (Qos) becomes an imperative concern for service consumers and providers. How to differentiate their quality based on Qos criteria at web service level is a challenging issue. Considering that evolutionary algorithm has powerful ability of searching information, a new web service composition model under improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) algorithm is presented in this paper. According to the non-functional attributes Qos of services, the model can select web services with optimal Qos and compose them into value-added web services. Furthermore, IPSO model not only can find the service with optimal Qos immediately but also can overcome the bottleneck of the standard PSO model. It can balance the exploitation and exploration and avoid premature convergence to some extent. As a result, web services can be invocated dynamically and be composed automatically and efficiently. The preliminary experimental results indicate that the web service composition approach based on IPSO model is applicable and feasible to the optimization of general service compositions. ©2009 IEEE.

Recent developments of mobile Internet and wireless technologies bring new opportunities and challenges to GIS research and applications. In this paper, we propose a new framework for accessing and integrating distributed geographical information by using mobile agent and GML technologies, in which mobile agents are used to overcome the limitations of traditional distributed computing paradigms in (mobile) Internet context, and GML is used to solve the heterogeneities of various GIS sources. software Defined Radio (SDR) allows dynamically changing protocols and functions in order to provide flexible, multiple-standard services to users. A reconfigurable baseband architecture having a set of coarse-grained, heterogeneous execution units is one strategy which can meet this requirement. However, while we can integrate a large number of execution units onto a chip, conventional bus structures may not be able to support the amount of traffic between the functional units due to the shared nature of the bus. In this paper, an SDR baseband platform is mapped onto two different types of on-chip networks, a multicasting CDMA-based network and a conventional 2Dmesh network. Synthesis is performed for both cases using a 0.13 micron CMOS technology library and comparative results for performance and area are provided. ©2009 IEEE.

This paper presents a component-based model with a novel ranking method (CMR) for constrained evolutionary optimization. In general, many constraint-handling technique inevitably solve two important problems: (1) how to generate the feasible solutions, (2) how to direct the search to find the feasible optimal solution. For the first problem, this paper introduces a component-based model. The model is useful for exploiting valuable information from infeasible solutions and for transforming infeasible solutions into feasible ones. Furthermore, a new ranking strategy is designed for the second problem. The new algorithm is tested on several well-known benchmark functions, and the empirical results suggest that it continuously found the optimums in 30 runs and has better standard deviations for robustness and stability. ©2009 IEEE.

CPS is a kind of networked embedded system. Its trustworthiness and cost are impacted by energy consumption. So design a low-power, high trustworthiness CPS has been a major challenge. Modeling and analyzing the energy consumption of CPS software architecture at design stage can help to find the energy consumption design defects. These methods can effectively improve the trustworthiness of the CPS software and reduce development costs. Against this problem, first introduce the concept of the energy consumption time Petri nets;then through analyzing the characteristics of the CPS software energy consumption, use energy consumption time Petri nets to construct the CPS software architecture energy consumption model and discuss the energy consumption problems of CPS software such as lowest energy consumption, largest energy consumption and average energy consumption;Finally, indicate the effectiveness of the proposed method by an instance. © 2013 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.

In allusion to the boundary leaking problem of traditional active contours when used to extract facial features, two kinds of local information are introduced to enhance the weak boundary, then to build new external force for active contours. The prior knowledge of the local shape of the facial features is incorporated into the evolution of active contour. The snake contour in each evolution step just serves as prediction, and then is ruled by the prior local shape;this way, the snake contour deforms via prediction-correction two steps. This two-step-deformation (TSD) snake can utilize the a priori shape of objects effectively. The proposed strategies are evaluated on several images and the experimental results validate the high performance of this TSD snake for facial features segmentation. ©2009 IEEE.
