This paper introduces the key technologies and tourism applications of networking autonomic system. The paper focuses especially in the theories, architectures and algorithms being used. It discusses the requirements for networking autonomic system in China and introduces a data mining and intelligent predicting system of tourism emergency based on networking autonomic system, which concentrates on the methods, such as quantum immune clone, multi-level and multi-scale prediction model and local/global coordination mechanism of agent, in tourism data mining process. ©2010 IEEE.

Testing is the fundamental technique to assess the correctness of software systems, but it is cost-lab.red to generate test cases. One solution to change the situation is to automatize some parts of the testing process, especially the generation of test cases using formal theory and technology. The research work in the direction shows the good perspective. This paper targets on the automatic generation of test cases based on IOSTS, which is widely used to model reactive systems with data. When selecting test cases based on a set of test purposes specified by IOSTS or temporal logic, in general, the redundancy phenomena are unavoidable in the derived test suite. Hence, some strategies are presented for eliminating the redundancies in order to reduce the cost of implementing testing. More importantly, the strategies are directly applied to test cases in form of IOSTS, such that it can reduce not only the size of test suite, but also the cost of deriving test cases. © 2010 IEEE.

Data collection is a fundamental issue in wireless sensor networks. In many application scenarios for sensor networks, approximate data collection is a wise choice due to the constraints in communication bandwidth and energy budget. In this paper, we focus on efficient approximate data collection with given error bounds in wireless sensor networks. The key idea of our data collection approach ADC (Approximate Data Collection) is to divide a sensor network into clusters, discover local data correlations on each cluster head, and perform a global approximate data collection on the sink according to model parameters uploaded by cluster heads. Specifically, we propose a local estimation model to approximate the readings of several subsets of sensor nodes, and prove rated error-bounds of data collection using this model. In the process of model-based data collection, we formulate the problem of selecting the minimum subset of sensor nodes into a minimum dominating set problem which is known to be NP-hard, and use a greedy heuristic algorithm to find an approximate solution. We also propose a monitoring algorithm to adjust these subsets according to the changes of sensor readings. Our trace-driving simulation results show that our data collection approach ADC can notably reduce the communication cost with given error bounds. © 2010 IEEE.

Large-scale simulation of the thermal convection in the Earth's outer core is studied. Starting from a legacy parallel code using Aztec and MPI, two optimized codes have been developed based on the PETSc software package. The first version gains several times acceleration with the help of the block-Jacobi preconditioners and the well-optimized libraries provided in PETSc. The second version, aiming at better parallel scalab.lity, is developed based on the ideas of domain decomposition method for multi-physical problems. Test results employing thousands of processor cores on three supercomputers, i.e., an IBM BlueGene/L, a Dawning 5000A and a Lenovo DeepComp 7000, are provided. © 2010 IEEE.

Making the semantic description and automatic semantic annotation of the image which contains rich contents and intuitive expression is a research subject that is challenging. It is a key technology of realizing fast and effective image retrieval and a research focusing on cross media mining. Also it has great application value in various kinds of fields. This paper studies and discusses image media semantic description and automatic semantic annotation. By extracting SIFT visual features, we make the description of the image semantic, then establish the association between local image visual features and semantic keywords, and finally realize the image to the text feature mapping and the automatic semantic annotation. The simulation experiment result shows that this method can accomplish the image automatic semantic annotation efficiently, and also it can reach a higher accuracy. ©ICROS.

In order to maximize the lifetime of wireless sensor networks, while ensuring the monitoring quality for specific applications, we develop the sleep-wakeup algorithms for the sensor networks. Firstly, for the three-dimensional wireless sensor networks, we formulate the virtual barrier coverage problems. Secondly, the design and implementation of the nodes sleep-wakeup scheduling algorithm, FWP, to maximize the covering time of a single virtual barrier and the k-virtual barriers sleep-wakeup scheduling algorithm, OBP, to maximize the network coverage time of k virtual barriers are presented. Finally, through the comprehensive simulation, the effectiveness of the algorithms is validated. The relationships among the density of the virtual barriers, virtual lattice point, the number of sensors and the sensing radius are also investigated and simulated. © 2010 IEEE.

For some sensor network applications, the problem of sweep coverage, which periodically covers POIs (Points of Interest) to sense events, is of importance. How to schedule minimum number of mobile sensors to achieve the sweep coverage within specified sweep period is a challenging problem, especially when the POIs to be scanned exceeds certain scale and the speed of mobile sensor is limited. Therefore, multiple mobile sensors are required to collab.ratively complete the scanning task. When the mobile sensor is restricted to follow the same trajectory in different sweep periods, we design a centralized algorithm, MinExpand, to schedule the scan path. When the scan path of the existing mobile sensors has been exceeds the length constraint, MinExpand gradually deploys more mobile sensors and eventually achieves sweep coverage to all POIs. When the mobile sensors are not restricted to follow the same trajectory in different sweep periods, we design OSweep algorithm, where all the mobile sensors are scheduled to move along a TSP (Traveling Salesman Problem) ring consists of POIs. We conduct comprehensive simulations to study the performance of the proposed algorithms. The simulation results show that MinExpand and OSweep outperform CSWEEP in both effectiveness and efficiency. © 2010 IEEE.

This paper introduces a flow based clustering algorithm for tourism search engine. Unlike the general tourism search engines such as ***, *** and *** etc. to return the users' queries huge amount of web page links, this algorithm helps the tourism search engine create a list of words which serve as suggestions to expand and update the users' queries. It is much different from the previous clustering algorithms which cluster the results by the similar subjects. This algorithm clusters the search results by the inside vector distance representing each relationship between the web pages. In this manner, these representatives belong to different clusters merging into something like different flows. The experimental results indicate that the algorithm performs an unexpected usefulness for the users' queries. Meanwhile, through the comparison with some often used algorithms and an online survey, it shows this algorithm has an accepted performance. ©ICROS.

In cloud computing, computational resources are provided to remote users in the form of leases. For a cloud user, he/she can request multiple cloud services simultaneously. In this case, parallel processing in the cloud system can improve the performance. When applying parallel processing in cloud computing, it is necessary to implement a mechanism to allocate resource and schedule the tasks execution order. Furthermore, a resource allocation mechanism with preemptable task execution can increase the utilization of clouds. In this paper, we propose an adaptive resource allocation algorithm for the cloud system with preemptable tasks. Our algorithms adjust the resource allocation adaptively based on the updated of the actual task executions. And the experimental results show that our algorithms works significantly in the situation where resource contention is fierce. © 2010 IEEE.

A software cloud is ready-made for software delivery or software as a Service (SaaS). As it becomes more and more popular, security problems of software running in the cloud also become an important issue. The threats, such as destroying system softwares and access violation, are frequently emerging in the field of software cloud. In this paper, we propose a watermark-aware trusted running environment to protect the softwares running in the cloud. We implement the scheme which mainly contains two parts: 1) embedding watermark into the Java programs running in the cloud;2) generating customized JVMs for recognizing the watermarked programs. Experimental results within a real private software cloud to demonstrate that our approach can provide a largescale protection with a small overhead. © 2010 IEEE.
