A novel 3D shape matching method is proposed in this paper. We first extract angular and distance feature pairs from pre-processed 3D models, then estimate their kernel densities after quantifying the feature pairs into a fixed number of bins. During 3D matching, we adopt the KL-divergence as a distance of 3D comparison. Experimental results show that our method is effective to match similar 3D shapes, and robust to model deformations or rotation transformations. © 2010 IEEE.

Network intrusion detection system needs to handle huge data selected from network environments which usually contain lots of irrelevant or redundant features. It makes intrusion detection with high resource consumption, as well as results in poor performance of real-time processing and intrusion detection rate. Without loss of generality, feature selection can effectively improve the classification model performance, study on the feature selection-based intrusion detection method is therefore very necessary. This paper proposes a simple and quick inconsistency-based feature selection method. Data inconsistency is firstly employed to find the optimal features, and the sequential forward search is then utilized to facilitate the selection of subset features. The tests on KDD99 benchmark data show that the proposed feature selection method can directly eliminate irrelevant and redundant features, without degenerating the classification performance. Furthermore, due to experiments, the intrusion detection performance using the proposed method is also a little advantageous than that with the general CFS method. © 2010 IEEE.

Time-series data mining is a very important element of data mining. As a typical time-series data, video data has been widely used for many applications such as film, medical, sports and traffic areas. In this paper we integrates several technologies into the video moving object time-series data mining. We propose a similarity analysis and clustering algorithm for videos based on the moving trajectory time series data wavelet transform of the moving object in the videos. Utilizing the image difference technique, our algorithm detects the moving objects from the scene surveillance video, calculates the centroid of the moving object, and uses the centroid series to character the moving trajectory of the object. Then we use wavelet analysis method to achieve dimensionality reduction and get the first k wavelet coefficient to substitute the original motion timeserial data. Based on the Euclidean distance, we utilize two judgement rules to determine the similarity of time-serial data and cluster them, use the rules to perform the similarity search and clustering of video. We apply the algorithm to athletic sports videos analysis. © 2010 IEEE.

This paper presents an innovative style-wise advertising platform for web page. Web page "style" mainly refers to visual effects, such as color and layout. Unlike the most popular ad-network such as Google AdSense which needs publishers to change the original structure of their pages and define the position and style of the embedded ads manually, style-wise page advertising aims to automatically deliver style-consistent ads at proper positions within the web page, without breaking the layout of the original page. Our system is motivated from the fact that almost 90% web pages contain blank regions without any content. Given a web page with some blank regions, style-wise page advertising is able to detect the suitable blank areas for advertising, rank the ads according to the semantic relevance and web page style, and embed relevant ads into these nonintrusive areas. Style-wise page advertising represents one of the first attempts towards contextual advertising which enables the publishers to save effort when applying online advertising services. © 2010 International World Wide Web Conference Committee (IW3C2).

A data based intelligent decision support system is proposed to solve problems of decision making of tourism management in complex environments. Firstly, the architecture of the decision support system integrated with several intelligence technologies is proposed, and some key technologies of implementation, such as 3S and decomposition of large decision table are also introduced. Then, some data analysis methods used in this decision support system are presented, which include tourism information categories, space time pattern of tourism status, tourism planning and navigation, early warning of tourism status and safety incidents. Finally, several applications of this system are also given. ©2010 IEEE.

Shape context is intended to be a way of describing shapes that allows for measuring shape similarity and recovering point correspondences. It is widely used in object recognition, and gets encouraging performance. But shape context is easily affected by noise points and slightly transition. In image processing, bilinear interpolation is practical and effective, allowing the resulting image appears smoother rather than jagged rendering, and more robust to slightly transition. In this paper, we use the bilinear interpolation to calculate shape context. Experimental result on 20 classes of object containing 500 images shows that robust objects matching can be achieved with our proposed method. © 2010 IEEE.

Partial order reduction techniques have been used to combat the state explosion problem in model checking procedures for concurrent systems with probabilistic behaviors. There are some results that give criteria on applying partial order reduction for verifying quantitative time properties and reward-based properties on actions. However, there are many situations that reward-based properties are expressed on states rather than on actions because actions are triggered in no time and the quantities can not be obtained easily. This paper presents reduction criteria for a probabilistic temporal logic that allows specification of restrictions on quantitative measures given by spatial resources function for the states of the considered system and provides the proof of the correctness. © 2010 IEEE.

Based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) and artificial bee colony (ABC), a novel hybrid swarm intelligent algorithm is developed in this paper. Two information exchanging processes are introduced to share valuable information mutually between particle swarm and bee colony. Numerical results show that the proposed method is effective and performs better than both PSO and ABC. © 2010 IEEE.

This paper proposes a generalized model by extending Markov chain with spatial resources lab.ls, which can describe the functional and performance properties and some basic characteristics such as nondeterminacy and randomicity. The syntax and semantics of the new model are shown based on the existing temporal logics such as CSRL and pathCSRL. The model checking procedure is discussed and thus the practicability of the new model is intuitive. Based on the existing models, the proposed model includes spatial resources lab.ls only by adding the spatial information to the existing lab.ls of states, so the treatment of the state explosion problem is similar to that in the existing models. ©2010 IEEE.
