In this paper, the braking torque of the surface mounted permanent magnet (SPM) motor for the electric sliding plug door (ESPD) system of the rail transport is studied. When the three-phase armature coils are short- circuited, the braking torque should be small to ensure passengers can open the door by themselves. The relationship between the impedance of the three-phase armature coils and the braking torque is deduced. The variation law of motor stator phase resistance and braking torque is obtained. The output torque and braking torque of motor with different stator phase resistance is compared. The model of the motor is built. A prototype of 12-slot/10-pole surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous (SPM) motor is designed and manufactured. The results of the experiment agree well with the theoretical and FE-simulation results. © 2021 IEEE.

Analysis of software licensing mode and compatibility choice with network externality

With network externality, two licensing modes-perpetual licensing mode and Softwareas-a-Service mode, and four compatibility choices-no compatibility, backward compatibility, forward compatibility and backward & forward compatibility, are considered. Consumers' purchasing decision and the vendor's pricing strategy are examined through two-stage models under each combination of licensing mode and compatibility choice. The results show that backward & forward compatibility maximizes the vendor's revenue under perpetual licensing mode, and any of no compatibility, backward compatibility and backward & forward compatibility may maximize the vendor's profit with software development costs under different compatibility choices. Under Software-as-a-Service mode, the compatibility choice has no impact on the vendor's revenue, and no compatibility maximizes the vendor's profit. When revenue maximization is the vendor's concern, perpetual licensing mode is superior to Software-as-a-Service mode;when profit maximization is the vendor's objective, Software-as-a-Service mode usually becomes better than perpetual licensing mode. © 2015, systems Engineering Society of China. It is a key issue in building operation management how to design an open and ubiquitous information system for diversity buildings of smart cities. This paper presents an operation management cloud ecosystem for smart buildings based on the technologies of Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing. It contains four levels: operation management application level, Internet of things platform, networking level, node level. The IoT platform provides hosting and computing, cloud storage, data storage for smart buildings. Networking level takes the responsibility for networking for intelligent hardware and smart terminals from the device level. With the building operation management applications, the cloud ecosystem is able to provide services of monitoring, controlling, management, and real-time optimization for smart buildings in cities.

Abstract Performance monitoring of model predictive control systems (MPC) has received a great interest from both academia and industry. In recent years some novel approaches for multivariate control performance monitoring have been developed without the requirement of process models or interactor matrices. Among them the prediction error approach has been shown to be a promising one, but it is k-step prediction based and may not be fully comparable with the MPC objective that is multi-step prediction based. This paper develops a multi-step prediction error approach for performance monitoring of model predictive control systems, and demonstrates its application in an industrial MPC performance monitoring and diagnosis problem.

According to the demand of 126kV intelligent switch with intelligent operative box, an intelligent terminal device by using cooperation control of embedded CPU (STM32F103ZET6 ARM) and Field Programmable Gates (Cyclone II EP2C8Q208C8 FPGA), which is up to the IEC61850 standard, is designed in this paper. Research program of the device is discussed. Starting from the modularization structure design, function of each module, circuit design and implementation method were introduced in detail. A hardware platform was established according to the design. Finally, the article confirmed the correctness of the hardware platform primarily through experimental method. © 2011 IEEE.

It's always difficult to satisfy both strict requirements of dynamic performance and settling performance of high-precision and high-acceleration point-to-point motions on electronic packaging equipment, i.e., Die bonders, Wire bonders, Flip-chip bonders, Wafer bumping machines, and so on. Focusing on this difficulty, Fuzzy logic is promoted in this paper to fine tune feed forward coefficient parameters of motion systems on packaging equipment to satisfy multiple targets of dynamic and settling performance requirements. This intelligent fine tuning approach, with achievable multiple motion targets, provides a therapy to automate and optimize motion system performance on packaging equipment, help on development and mass production of semiconductor packaging equipment, and improve machine intelligence.

A Parameter Formula Connecting PID and ADRC

This paper presents a parameter formula connecting the well-known proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control and the active disturbance rejection control (ADRC). On the one hand, this formula gives a quantitative lower bound to the bandwidth of the extended state observer (ESO) used in ADRC, implying that the ESO is not necessarily of high gain. On the other hand, enlightened by the design of ADRC, a new PID tuning rule is provided, which can guarantee both strong robustness and nice tracking performance of the closed-loop systems under the PID control. Moreover, it is proved that the ESO can be rewritten as a suitable linear combination of the three terms in PID, which can give a better estimate for the system uncertainty than the single integral term in the PID controller. Removing water fluctuation via motion field-based kernel regression

A new approach is proposed in this paper to recover the original image of an underwater scene from a given sequence distorted by water fluctuation. The contribution of our method is to use a motion field-based kernel regression to reconstruct an undistorted image. It first utilizes the image registration method to generate registered frames and the corresponding motion fields, and then detect a set of stationary patches from registered frames by calculating the movement energy of local regions. Finally, a temporal kernel regression is carried out to combine the detected stationary patches to reconstruct an undistorted stationary image. Experiments illustrate that this approach can effectively alleviate distortions and significantly improve visual quality of the distorted images. Copyright © 2014 Binary Information Press.

In vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), security always comes with a price in terms of QoS performance degradation. In this paper, we take an integrated approach of optimizing both security and QoS parameters, and study the tradeoffs between them in VANETs. Specifically, we use recent advances in cooperative communication to enhance the QoS performance of VANETs. In addition, we present a prevention-based security technique mat provides both hop-by-hop and end-to-end authentication and integrity protection. We derive the closed-form effective secure throughput considering both security and QoS provisioning in VANETs with cooperative communications. The system is formulated as a partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP). Simulation results are presented to show that our proposed scheme can substantially improve the effective secure throughput of VANETs with cooperative communications.
