Offshore wind is an important source of information for monitoring the interaction between fishery and marine water vapor environment. In this paper, the CMOD5 function was used to invert the wind field in the coastal waters of Guangdong province in March, May, July and December 2017. Compared with the measured wind speed, the reasonable result of the inversion wind speed is generally higher, with the mean absolute deviation of 1.95 m/s, the root mean square error of 2.7 m/s, and the correlation coefficient of 0.8. Due to the measured data not exactly matching the satellite transit time, the error in December is large. The inversion results of Sentinel-1A images are consistent with the measured data generally, which verifies that the COMD5 function is applicable to the inversion of offshore high-resolution marine wind field in Guangdong province, and provides a possibility for the next step of estimating the wind energy resources and reserves in Guangdong province. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper,nine indicators selected from three perspectives(convenience,environmental and location characteristics)and three regression models(OLS,SLM and SEM)are used to explore the influencing factors of housing sales vacancy in the Guangzhou Metropolitan Area,*** results show that subway accessibility,peripheral aversion municipal facilities and distance from the CBD(Central Business District)are consistent with theoretical *** accessibility is negatively correlated with the housing sales vacancy rates,while peripheral aversion municipal facilities and distance from the CBD are positively correlated with housing vacancy rates.

The development of airborne laser radar technology and cloud data processing technology provides a new technical means for the acquisition and processing of geospatial 3D data. Based on the self-developed LiDAR UAV, this paper proposes a new point cloud automatic classification method (TL-PCACM) of transmission lines by using the improved fast 3D convex hull construction algorithm, k-means clustering analysis algorithm and Region-growing algorithm, which have high classification accuracy, good classification effect and fast processing speed. The accuracy of point cloud automatic classification is over 95%, the efficiency can reach 60 km/h. The proposed method is applied to the analysis of tree obstacles under transmission lines. The efficiency of the automatic identification of tree obstacles can reach 720 towers/hour. The accuracy can reach 50 cm. It provides high efficiency, high quality, fully automatic and intelligent data processing method for the classification of tree obstacles, effectively improving the processing accuracy and speed of geospatial 3D information data. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Housing vacancy can reflect the destocking degree of the real estate *** on the data of 57 opened residential quarters(46,622 units)from 2015 to 2018,this paper constructs a calculation formula of the sales vacancy rate and then analyzes the spatial pattern in Guangzhou’s urban *** results show that there is obvious differentiation in the spatial pattern of housing sales vacancy in Guangzhou’s urban district,showing a higher spatial pattern in the old area and urban district and a lower spatial pattern in the core *** with high vacancy rates are mainly located in the east of the old area,the south and east of the urban district and near Baiyun Mountain in the north.

The inspection procedure of Chinese high voltage power grid is mainly based on human inspection for many years. This is not only time-consuming and difficult, but the inspection results are also not objective and complete. Aiming at these problems, this paper gives a research method based on UAV-borne laser scanning. By taking the orthophotos of the power line corridor area and using the overlapping feature points of the image, the orientation elements of each photo are inversely calculated. According to the principle of aerial triangulation, the pixel matching algorithm is used to calculate the dense point cloud data of the survey area, and the power line point in the point cloud is selected to simulate the complete power line. By calculating the Euclidean distance between the power line and the power line protection area, the calculated result is compared with the power line safety specification to obtain information such as a tree barrier point or an early warning point. It can effectively identify many important defects such as wire-vegetation, wire-building, wire-crossing, etc., and greatly improve the quality and efficiency of the inspection process of existing high-voltage transmission lines. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The scale research of landscape pattern is an important basis for the study of spatiotemporal evolution of landscape pattern and the scientific and reasonable allocation of landscape pattern. This paper takes the middle and upper reaches of Meijiang river as the research area. Combined with spatial grain size analysis and extent size analysis, the spatial scale effect was studied to select the optimal research scale in this research area. The results show that most of the appropriate grain size of landscape pattern indexes are in range of 90–150 m, and the optimal grain size scale is 150 m in Middle and Upper Reaches of Meijiang River Basin. At the grain size scale of 150 m, the spatial self-correlation of landscape pattern index over 50% is the highest at the extent size of 300 m, and the optimal extent size scale is 300 m in this basin. This paper determines the optimal scale of landscape pattern in the middle and upper reaches of Meijiang river basin, which is of great significance to the ecological balance and sustainable development of the basin. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The visual dimension of cities has been a fundamental subject in urban studies, since the pioneering work of scholars such as Sitte, Lynch, Arnheim and Jacobs. Several decades later, big data and artificial intelligence (AI) are revolutionizing how people move, sense, and interact with cities. This paper reviews the literature on the appearance and function of cities to illustrate how visual information has been used to understand them. A conceptual framework, Urban Visual Intelligence, is introduced to systematically elab.rate on how new image data sources and AI techniques are reshaping the way researchers perceive and measure cities, enabling the study of the physical environment and its interactions with the socio-economic environment at various scales. The paper argues that these new approaches enable researchers to revisit the classic urban theories and themes, and potentially help cities create environments that are more in line with human behaviors and aspirations in the digital age. Directional Analysis of Urban Expansion Based on Sub-pixel and Regional Scale: A Case Study of Main Districts in Guangzhou, China

Multi-scale data have had a wide-ranging level of performance in the area of urban change monitoring. Herein we investigate the correlation between the impervious surface fraction(ISF) and the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program/Operational Linescan system(DMSP/OLS) nighttime stable light(NTL) data with respect to the urban expansion in the main districts of Guangzhou. Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper and Landsat 8 Operational Land Image(OLI) data from 1988 to 2015 were used to extract the ISF using the linear spectral mixture analysis model and normal difference build-up index at the sub-pixel scale. DMSP/OLS NTL data from 1992 to 2013 were calibrated to illustrate the urban nighttime light conditions at the regional scale. Urban expansion directions were identified by statistics and kernel density analysis for the ISF study area at the sub-pixel scale. In addition, the correlation between the ISF and DMSP/OLS NTL data were illustrated by linear regression analysis. Furthermore, Profile Graph in ArcGIS was employed to illustrate the urban expansion from the differences in correlation in different directions. The conclusions are as follows: 1) The impervious surface(IS)in the study area has expanded to the northeast and the east, starting with the old urban zones, and the high-density IS area has increased by321.14 km^2. 2) The linear regression analysis reveals a positive correlation between the ISF and the DMSP/OLS NTL data. The multi-scale data changes are consistent with the actual urban planning of Guangzhou. 3) The DMSP/OLS NTL data overestimate the urban extent because of its saturation and blooming effects, causing its correlation with ISF to decrease. The pattern of urban expansion influences the saturation and blooming effects of the DMSP/OLS NTL data.

Comprehending the spatial variations of evapotranspiration (ET) and its components on Tibetan Plateau (TP) is crucial for grasping the dynamics of the regional water cycle and energy balance. However, the influence of various environmental factors on ET and its components remains unclear. This study addresses this gap by utilizing observational data from 14 sites and employing the Shuttleworth-Wallace-Hu (SWH) model to examine the spatial relationships between ET, its components, and influencing factors. The SWH model parameters were optimized using the Monte Carlo method, achieving a satisfactory simulation performance with an average R2 value of 0.75. Our analysis indicates that in alpine meadow, the ratio of transpiration to ET is generally higher (0.55) compared to alpine steppe (0.39). In terms of spatial distribution, both precipitation and leaf area index significantly impact ET and transpiration. Precipitation emerges as the primary driver of interannual spatial variations in ET, while leaf area index plays a pivotal role in regulating proportion of transpiration. Furthermore, our results reveal a transition from water-dominated to energy-dominated in TP grassland ecosystem at an aridity index of 0.73. This finding is significant as it challenges the common application of an aridity index of 0.65 to distinguish arid from humid regions. It suggests that TP grassland, within the 0.65-0.73 range, remain primarily water-driven. These findings enhance our comprehension of the intricate interactions within the water cycle. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Study region: The Tibetan Plateau in China, the Third Pole of the *** focus: Accurate descriptions of spatial variation in evapotranspiration (ET) and its components on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) are crucial for understanding the dynamics of the regional water cycle and energy balance. However, how various environmental factors affect ET and its components remains unclear. This study addresses this gap using observational data from 14 sites and employing the Shuttleworth-Wallace-Hu (SWH) model to examine the spatial relationships between ET, its components, and underlying *** hydrological insights for the region: The SWH model parameters were optimized using the Monte Carlo method, achieving a satisfactory model performance with an average R² of 0.75. The ratio of transpiration to ET was generally higher in alpine meadows (0.55) than alpine steppes (0.39). Across the TP, precipitation and the leaf area index together shaped spatial variation in ET and transpiration. Precipitation emerged as the primary driver of interannual variation in ET, while the leaf area index strongly regulated the proportion of ET accounted for by transpiration. Furthermore, above aridity index values of 0.73, grassland ecosystems transitioned from water to energy. This finding is significant as it challenges the common application of an aridity index value of 0.65 to distinguish arid from humid regions.
