Organizational evolutionary algorithm and its application in parameterization design

A new optimization method-organizational evolutionary algorithm (OEA) is proposed. Using OEA, a colony is composed of organizations, and the colony's evolution is lead by three organizational evolutionary operators: split operator, merge operator, and coordinate operator. Split operator limits the scale of the organization and makes a part of the organization goes into the next generation directly, which maintains the variety of the generation. Merge operator fully makes use of the leader's information and acts as a local search function. Coordinate operator increases the degree of adaptability by interactions between organizations. OEA is successfully applied to solve the nonlinear parameterization design problems. Experiments show that OEA performs better than original generic algorithm (GA) in this application of parameterization design.

An EEG signal detection ensemble system to solve the low rate of vision detection is developed when analysis so many EEG signals. A novel FastICA method is presented, in which the independent component analysis approach is used to acquire the high order statistic information of EEG intrusion action mode and mapped the input mode space into the corresponding independent component space. Then the generalized maximal margin hyperplane is constructed in the independent component space using the support vector machine. Testing results show that the system integrates the features of FastICA and SVM to response real-time and lower the rate of false negative. © 2007 IEEE.

Geographical Information System (GIS) integrates operation and synthesis analysis of multi-factor information, satisfying the demand of high efficiency and visual performance in human computer Interaction, whereas Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology assigns and utilizes network resources flexibly, making information exchange more dynamic and real-time with participants' autonomy to certain extent. Therefore, by the thought of uniting information processing merits of GIS and P2P, a design method of new information service system -Gippy - is introduced to keep pace with information exchange demands among dispersed governance regions, especially as universities. It is discussed in this paper that Gippy's key achieving technologies including its applications as well as architecture characteristics. We also points out new value-added functions adopted by Gippy, and give a research on feasibility of optimizing and extending. © 2007 IEEE.

The difficulties of modeling complex knowledge system lie in a large quantity of knowledge rules and the difficulty in organizing rules and grasping their mutual logical relationships. This article proposed a concept of hierarchical fuzzy Petri nets (HFPN), which is more suitable for modeling complex knowledge system than other fuzzy Petri net models. In addition, the concepts of abstract place and abstract transition in HFPN are allowed to describe and analyze the knowledge system at diverse abstract levels. Therefore, using HFPN, the iterative and incremental methods can be applied to modeling complex knowledge system. In addition, structured approach can be naturally applied to the process of modeling knowledge system.

Gene expression is the transformational procedure from genetic information of genome to proteome which affect the life activities of cells. The Regulation of gene expression determines the structure, quantity and functions of proteome. Existing electronic cell (E-Cell) models seldom relate to simulation on the regulations of gene expressions. In this paper, the E-Cell model we propose, named Analog-Cell, in order to reappear the life activities of cells and discover new biological rules, simulates the main regulation mechanisms in gene expression through defining regulation factors, enzymes and rational reaction rules, thus Analog-Cell obtains recommendable simulative results. © 2007 IEEE.

For the problem of multimedia applications not obtain assuring service immediately after mobile IP handoff we propose dynamic policy and design the dynamic policy scheme of resource management in mobile IP. Based on the prediction information of the mobile node, the mechanism automatically produces dynamic policies to do admission control and to prepare resources before handoff occurs. And then it uses core policies existed as reference and applies product space conditional event algebra to trigger enforcement of dynamic policy. When the resources in access domain fell short of mobile nodes' requisition, it adopts "step back" arithmetic to update dynamic policies to further adjust resource possession according to the priority to assure the services credibility. By analysis, it is shown that this scheme can guarantee QoS of applications with higher priority and significantly improve the success rate of handoff. Also this management model is much more flexible than traditional methods.

This paper presents a new interest local regions descriptors method based on Hilbert-Huang Transform. The neighborhood of the interest local region is decomposed adaptively into oscillatory components called intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). Then the Hilbert transform is applied to each component and get the phase and amplitude information. The proposed descriptors samples the phase angles information and amalgamates them into 10 overlap squares with 8-bin orientation histograms. The experiments show that the proposed descriptors are better than SIFT and other standard descriptors. Essentially, the Hilbert-Huang Transform based descriptors can belong to the class of phase-based descriptors. So it can provides a better way to overcome the illumination changes. Additionally, the Hilbert-Huang transform is a new tool for analyzing signals and the proposed descriptors is a new attempt to the Hilbert-Huang transform.

The necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of prewavelets with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction is presented. Especially when r = 1, we show that {φj(x-k) | 1 &le j &le r, k ∈ s} is shift-orthogonal if there exist prewavelets with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction, i.e., non-trivial prewavelets with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction does not exist. As an example, when r = 2 we construct a prewavelet with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction where the scale function is not shift-orthogonal, which demonstrate that there exist vector prewavelets with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction.

Concurrent search is an efficient technique for solving distributed constraint satisfaction problems (DisCSPs). dynamic variable ordering (DVO) impacts performance of search greatly. In this paper, we present a distributed dynamic variable ordering based concurrent search algorithm, in which domain sizes of variables are calculated approximately during search. Experiments on randomly generated DisCSPs demonstrate that the proposed algorithm improves concurrent search drastically.

Aiming at the larger search space of learning clause in Inductive Logic Programming, we put forward the definitions of the predicate template and the clause template to reduce search *** suggest IMPI algorithm, which is a genetic algorithm combining immune mechanism and uses the clause template as genetic code to learn the clause template of required *** uses immune mechanism to invent new predicates, which can extend the hypothesis language, find better *** we design when to invent *** obtaining the clause template, we use a general method based on generalization and information gain sampling to convert clause template to *** design the corresponding fitness function and genetic *** indicates that this algorithm can reduce the search space, improve the efficiency of search algorithm and can learn recursion clause by theoretical analysis and experiment *** is an effective clause learning algorithm.
