Many networks constructed and investigated in network science are based on quantized weights of edges due to limitation on measurement or for research convenience. In this work, quantization effects on networks properties are investigated based on the eigenvalues of the corresponding Laplacian. Non-integer weights are rounded off to nd that higher rounding-off precision leads to a better approximation of the original networks distribution of eigenvalues, whereas shows no in uence on the quantization results. In contrast to the intuition that larger quantization level always implies a better approximation of the quantized network to the original one, periodic jumping phenomena at the critical quantization level with peak-value decreasing in a power-law relationship are observed in all the real-world networks we investigated. Furthermore, random exchange of weights among edges could in uence the critical quantization level but doesn’t affect the jumping phenomena.

Since estimation of distribution algorithms(EDAs) were proposed,many methods have been made to improve EDAs' performance. In this paper,a variable classification-based cooperative estimation of distribution algorithm(VC-CEDA) is proposed to balance the global and local searching ability of estimation of distribution algorithms. This study proposes a variable classification method to improve the efficiency and accuracy of probability model development. And a cooperative particle swarm optimizer that can improve the local searching ability is proposed. The VC-CEDA combines the advantages of traditional algorithm and cooperative operations. VC-CEDA shows significantly better performance on 10 test functions. In this study,the experimental results show that the VC-CEDA performs better than traditional EDAs.

Moving window local outlier probability U+0028 MWLoOP U+0029 is an outlier detecting method which was proposed for monitoring time-varying industrial processes;however, for the practical industrial processes, besides the timevarying characters caused by deactivation of catalyst, measuring instrument drifting and so on, the operation mode is often switched as the adjusting of the feedstock, changes in market demands and so on. Although the MWLoOP algorithm can deal with the time-varying process data, the multi-mode process data will lead to a mass of false alarm. To solve this problem, an external analysis moving window local outlier probability U+0028 EA-MWLoOP U+0029 algorithm is proposed in this study. The external analysis is employed to eliminate the influence of operation mode change on the process data, then the MWLoOP method can deal with complex distribution time-varying data, and give an outlier probability. Finally, the corresponding statistic and control limit are constructed to detect the process fault. In addition, while the monitoring model is being updated, the control limit is not necessary to update. This paper studies a kind of formation control problem with direction adjustment of discrete-time multi-agent systems. Different with existing works, the involving control strategy has a property that, not only promotes the desired formation, but also has rotational behaviors according to the designed direction of control. Based on several mathematical techniques, some sufficient criteria are obtained in terms of algebraic conditions. The obtained criteria show that the actual formation shape is capable of rotate with respect to the desirable direction if the whole systems execute some scheduled targets. Subsequently, an example is provided to illustrate the applicability of the presented formation control.
