This paper proposes a novel multi-objective optimization algorithm: differential evolution inspired clone immune multi-objective optimization algorithm (DECIMO). The novel algorithm uses a space-filling experimental design named symmetric Latin hypercube design (SLHD) to initialize the population which can obviously improve the uniformity of the individual distribution. A permutation of population individual indexes is generated and then a neighborhood for each population individual is defined according to the permutation. A differential evolution inspired neighborhood recombination operator, which based on the neighbors of each population member, is proposed to balance the exploration and exploitation abilities of the algorithm with no compromise of efficiency. The DE inspired operator is then invoked into the clone immune algorithm (CIA) to solve multi-objective problems (MOPs). We compare the proposed algorithm with NSGA2 and SPEA2 by executing it to 5 famous test functions. The results show that the proposed algorithm can fast converge to the global Pareto front and also can sustain a very uniform distribution. It is a potential algorithm for solving MOPs.

This paper studies the state feedback stabilization of LTI plants over wireless block-fading channels. The packet-loss rate of each channel depends on power level and packet length used for transmission as well as channel power gain. Different from the case of fixed packet-loss rate, the packet-loss rate considered in this paper is random and time-varying as the channel power gain is so for wireless communication. When power level and packet length are assumed to be time-invariant for every transmission at each channel, necessary and sufficient conditions for mean square stabilizability via state feedback are given in terms of the unstable poles of the plant. The performance defined as the asymptotic mean square norm of the system state is also discussed for the scalar case.

The computation burden in the model-based predictive control algorithm is heavy when solving QR optimization with a limited sampling step, especially for a complicated system with large dimension. A fast algorithm is proposed in this paper to solve this problem, in which real-time values are modulated to bit streams to simplify the multiplication. In addition, manipulated variables in the prediction horizon are deduced to the current control horizon approximately by a recursive relation to decrease the dimension of QR optimization. The simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of this fast algorithm for MIMO systems.

In order to save communication consumption in the wireless nodes of networked control systems, this paper investigates the stabilization problem of an event-triggered constrained model predictive control. A state-feedback predictive control law is designed by solving an infinite horizon performance objective and an event-triggered condition involving the norm of a measurement error is derived based on input-to-state stability. Under the proposed mechanism, the measurements are sent by wireless network and the predictive controloptimization is implemented only when the triggering conditions are satisfied. This approach not only can alleviate the energy consumption but also achieves the desired control performance and constraints satisfaction. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

The Group Search Optimizer(GSO) is a novel optimization algorithm, which is inspired by searching behavior of animals. In this paper, we proposed an improved GSO algorithm named Fast Global Group Search Optimizer(FGGSO) to increase searching speed and balance the exploitation and exploration of the algorithm, which is based on our previous works. At first time, considering the complexity and time-consuming design of the producer's angle searching strategy, a novel local search mechanism, named campaign strategy, is developed, which is inspired by competition and cooperation between candidates in an electoral process. After that, a reconstruction operation is applied in searching process to guarantee the avoidance of the local minimum. The algorithm is evaluated on a set of 11 numerical optimization problems and compared favorably with other version of GSOs. Experimental results indicate the remarkable improvement on the performance of these problems.

Independent component analysis (ICA) and fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering were adopted for automatic ocular artifact suppression from operator's electroencephalogram. Firstly, ICA was applied to the 20s data containing nine channels of EEG data and one of electrooculagram (EOG) data. Secondly, each 20s independent component (IC) was partitioned into ten 2 s epochs. And five features of each epoch were calculated, which are wavelet entropy, power in the band between 0 and 5 Hz, kurtosis, mutual information and correlation. Thirdly, the epochs were classified as either EEG or ocular artifact based on the result of FCM clustering. And then components which were recognized as ocular artifact were rejected. Clean EEG was obtained. The result shows that the method based on ICA and FCM can be applied to online automatic ocular artifact suppression from EEG.

This paper studies semi-global containment control problem for a multi-agent system. Each follower agent in the system is described by a general linear system in the presence of both actuator position and rate saturation. A linear state feedback containment control law is constructed for each follower agent by using low gain approach such that the states of all follower agents will converge to the convex hull formed by the leader agents asymptotically when the communication topology among follower agents is a connected undirect graph and each leader agent is a neighbor of at least one follower agent. Simulation results illustrate the theoretical results.
