DNA is not only the genetic material of life, but also a favorable material for a new computing model. Various research works based on DNA computing have been carried out in recent years. DNA sequence design is the foundation of such research. The sequence quality directly affects the universality, robustness, and stability of DNA computing. How to design DNA sequences depends on the biological properties and target requirements, which is a typical combinatorial optimization problem. In this paper, in order to design DNA sequences with high-quality, we propose a novel meta-heuristic evolutionary algorithm, termed the static virus spread algorithm (SVS). Through this algorithm, we focus on the constraints of universal DNA sequence design and produce a large number of DNA sequences with non-complementarity and small difference in melting temperature as the objectives, and fully considering the balanced proportion of the four bases. The computer simulation and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis experiments show that the high-quality DNA sequences designed by this algorithm are effective, which is expected to provide a convenient tool for sequence preparation before DNA biochemical operations. With the popularity of encryption protocols, machine learning (ML)-based traffic analysis technologies have attracted widespread attention. To adapt to modern high-speed bandwidth, recent research is dedicated to advancing zero-trust intrusion detection by offloading feature extraction and model inference into the network dataplane. Especially, with the rise of programmable switches, achieving line-speed ML inference becomes promising. However, existing research only considers a single switch node as a relay to conduct evaluation. This is far from real-world deployments involving multiple switches (given that zero-trust security assumes that threats can originate from anywhere, including within the network), particularly the multi-path routing phenomenon that exists in practice. In this paper, we reveal practical challenges in the context of enabling line-speed model inference in the network dataplane. Furthermore, we propose FCPlane, the forwarding and computing integrated dataplane for zero-trust intrusion detection that aims to enable efficient load balancing while providing reliable traffic analysis results, even against multipath routing. The core idea is to reconcile forwarding and computation to the flowlet level, for which a tailor-made Markov chain model is designed. Based on two public traffic datasets, we evaluate seven state-of-the-art in-network traffic analysis models deployed in four types of topologies (three with multipath routing and one without) to explore performance impact and demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposal. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

This paper presents the kinematic analysis of a coupled parallelogram leg (CPL) used for locomotion in a hexapod robot. The ability to cross obstacles is a crucial functionality of legged robots, which heavily relies on their control algorithms and structural characteristics. In this study, we specifically focus on analyzing the CPL workspace and propose three performance metrics for assessing its obstacle-crossing (OC) capabilities: workspace utilization, effective obstacle-crossing area ratio, and maximum stride ratio. By calculating these metrics for two main walking directions, we thoroughly evaluate the CPL’s OC abilities. The results offer valuable insights into the maximum stride and the starting and ending footholds in each direction, providing a solid theoretical foundation for the development of flexible OC strategies. Prototype experiments successfully validate the accuracy of these calculations, further confirming the effectiveness of the proposed metrics. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Traditional image emotion recognition focuses only on the emotion information embedded in the subject or part of the image, while ignoring the global emotion information. In this paper, we propose a new network based on Vision Transformer: a global perception network, containing a main module and a background module. The main module enhances the weighting of objects by showing the interdependencies between modelled channels. The background module further searches for emotional information in the background. In addition, we employ multi-task learning and Adaptive Gradient Clipping to improve the network. Extensive experiments show that our proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods for image sentiment analysis.

This paper proposes a novel ankle rehabilitation exoskeleton based on the research of human gait cycle, aiming to assist patients with neurological injury to recover quickly. The mechanism consists of two frames equipped with ankle joints and toe joint. The lower limbs and musculature system are correlated to propose the model. Incorporating spring modules are provided on the instep, the bottom of toes and either sides of the ankles which cushions lower limbs and reduces energy consumption. Kinematics and stress analysis are conducted to verify the feasibility of the model. Besides, the simulation, which incorporates the elastic elements and springs, is presented. Finally, the modular facilitates could easy integration with other rehabilitation modules for a comprehensive system. Overall, this research provides theoretical and engineering technical support for developing lower limb rehabilitation robots with adaptive stability, diversified movement functions, and human-computer interaction safety and health under different conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common cancers and ranks the third in cancer mortality all over the *** goal of this study was to identify potential hub-genes,highlighting their functions,signaling pathways,and candidate drugs for the treatment of GC *** used publicly available next generation sequencing(NGS)data to identify differentially expressed(DE)*** top DE genes were mapped to STRING database to construct the protein-protein interaction(PPI)network and top hub genes were selected for further *** found a total of 1555 DE genes with 870 upregulated and 685 downregulated genes in *** selected the top 400(200 upregulated and 200 downregulated)genes to construct a PPI network and extracted the top 15 hub *** gene ontology(GO)term and kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment analyses of the 15 hub genes exposed some important functions and signaling pathways that were significantly associated with GC *** survival analysis of the hub genes disclosed that the lower expressions of the three hub genes CDH2,COL4A1,and COL5A2 were associated with better survival of GC *** three genes might be the candidate biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of ***,we considered 3 key proteins(genomic biomarkers)(COL4A1,CDH2,and CO5A2)as the drug target proteins(receptors),performed their docking analysis with the 102 meta-drug agents,and found Everolimus,Docetaxel,Lanreotide,Venetoclax,Temsirolimus,and Nilotinib as the top ranked 6 candidate drugs with respect to our proposed target proteins for the treatment against GC ***,the proposed drugs might play vital role for the treatment against GC patients.

In recent years, Text-To-Speech (TTS) technology has developed rapidly. People have also been paying more attention to how to narrow the gap between synthetic speech and real speech, hoping that synthesized speech can be integrated with real rhythm. A rhythmic feature embedding method for Text-To-Speech was proposed in this thesis based on Tacotron2 model, which has arisen in the field of TTS in recent years. Firstly, rhythmic feature extraction through World vocoder can reduce redundant information in rhythmic features. Then, rhythmic feature fusion based on Variational Auto-Encoder (VAE) network can enhance rhythmic information. Experiments are carried out on the data set LJSpeech-1.0, and then subjective evaluation and objective evaluation are carried out on the synthesized speech respectively. Compared with the comparative literature, the subjective blind hearing test (ABX) score increased by 25%. At that same time, the objective Mel Cepstral Distortion value (MCD) declined to 12.77. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

OSRE: Object-to-Spot Rotation Estimation for Bike Parking Assessment

Current deep models provide remarkable object detection in terms of object classification and localization. However, estimating object rotation with respect to other visual objects in the visual context of an input image still lacks deep studies due to the unavailability of object datasets with rotation annotations. This paper tackles these two challenges to solve the rotation estimation of a parked bike with respect to its parking area. First, we leverage the power of 3D graphics to build a camera-agnostic well-annotated Synthetic Bike Rotation Dataset (SynthBRSet). Then, we propose an object-to-spot rotation estimator (OSRE) by extending the object detection task to further regress the bike rotations in two axes. Since our model is purely trained on synthetic data, we adopt image smoothing techniques when deploying it on real-world images. The proposed OSRE is evaluated on synthetic and real-world data providing promising results. Our data and code are available at https://***/OSRE/. © 2023, CC BY.

Based on the background of photovoltaic development in the whole county and the demand for energy storage on the user-side, this paper establishes an economic evaluation model of user-side photovoltaic energy storage system considering shared energy storage. Firstly, three schemes of no energy storage, independent energy storage and shared energy storage are proposed, and the influence of photovoltaic energy storage system loss on annual power generation is considered. Secondly, based on the whole life cycle theory, the cost and benefit model of the user-side photovoltaic energy storage system is established, and the unit electricity cost of the user is used as the evaluation index. Finally, the relevant data of user in Hubei area are analyzed as an example to verify the effectiveness of the model and provide reference for the investment of related projects. © 2023 IEEE.
