Strain effects have garnered significant attention in catalytic applications due to their ability to modulate the electronic structure and surface adsorption properties of *** this study,we propose a novel approach called“similar stacking”for stress modulation,achieved through the loading of Co_(2)P on Ni_(2)P(Ni_(2)P/Co_(2)P).Theoretical simulations reveal that the compressive strain induced by Co_(2)P influences orbital overlap and electron transfer with hydrogen ***,the number of stacked layers can be adjusted by varying the precursor soaking time,which further modulates the strain range and hydrogen *** a 2-h soaking condition,the strain effect proves favorable for efficient hydrogen *** characterizations using X-ray diffraction,high-angel annular dark-field scanning transmission election microscope(HAADF-STEM),and X-ray absorption near-edge structure spectroscopy successfully demonstrate lattice contraction of Co_(2)P and bond length shortening of ***,our catalyst shows an ultrahigh current density of 1 A cm^(-2) at an overpotential of only 388 mV,surpassing that of commercial Pt/C,while maintaining long-term *** material design strategy of similar stacking opens up new avenues of strain modulation and the deeper development of electrocatalysts.

This article introduces a kind of stochastic SEIR models containing virus mutation and logistic growth of susceptible populations, whose deterministic versions have a positively invariant set and globally asymptotically stable equilibrium points. For these stochastic SEIR epidemic models, we prove they have a unique global positive solution, and also obtain sufficient conditions respectively for survival and extinction of the infectious disease. Eventually, we validate our theoretical findings using numerical simulations. © 2023 International Association for Mathematics and Computers in simulation (IMACS)

The evolution of advanced artificial intelligence generated content approaches has heightened concerns about deepfake, due to the sophisticated forgeries and concealed appearances they produce. To this end, the pre-trained Vision Transformer (ViT) model has become a de facto choice for deepfake detection, thanks to its powerful learning capability. Despite favorable results achieved by existing ViT-based methods, they have inherent limitations that could result in suboptimal performance in scenarios with continuously evolving forgery techniques, such as overfitting to single forgery patterns or placing excessive emphasis on dominant forgery regions. In this paper, we propose CUTA, a simple yet effective deepfake detection paradigm that utilizes ViT adapters as the medium and fully exploits the spatial- and frequency-domain features of given images to overcome the limitations of existing methods. Specifically, CUTA focuses on frequency domain masking within the input space, which obscures parts of the high-frequency image to intensify the training challenge while preserving subtle forgery cues in the frequency domain to facilitate comprehensive forgery representations. Furthermore, we propose two task-customized modules within the ViT model, i.e., the texture enhancement module and the multi-scale perceptron module, to seamlessly integrate local texture and rich contextual features. These two modules ensure an organic interaction between the task-specific forgery patterns and general semantic features within the pre-trained ViT framework. The experimental results on several publicly available benchmark datasets demonstrate CUTA’s superiority in performance, particularly showcasing its significant advantages in both cross-dataset and cross-manipulation scenarios. 2005-2012 IEEE.

An Area Optimization Approach for Large-Scale RM-TB Dual Logic Circuits Based on a Multitasking Optimization Algorithm

Logic synthesis is a crucial step in integrated circuit design, and area optimization is an indispensable part of this process. However, the area optimization problem for large-scale Fixed Polarity Reed-Muller (FPRM) circuits is an NP-hard problem. To address this problem, we divide Boolean circuits into small-scale circuits based on the idea of divide-and-conquer using the proposed grouping decomposition mechanism. Each small-scale Boolean circuit is transformed into an FPRM circuit by a polarity transformation algorithm. To ensure the circuit's functionality remains unaffected, we integrate FPRM circuits into an FPRM and Boolean (RM-TB) dual logic circuit based on the proposed gate-level integration. However, the area optimization problem of RM-TB dual logic circuits is a multi-task, high-dimensional, and multi-extremal combinatorial optimization problem. Therefore, we propose a Multipopulation Multitasking Optimization Algorithm (MMuOA) that integrates self-evolution with a multitasking equilibrium optimizer and cross-task evolution through knowledge sharing and transfer. This forms a dynamic optimization framework for simultaneously searching for the optimal polarity corresponding to the minimal area of RM-TB dual logic circuits. Moreover, we propose an Area Optimization Approach (AOA) for an RM-TB dual logic circuit with the minimum area using the MMuOA. Experimental results based on the Microelectronics Center of North Carolina (MCNC) Benchmark test circuits demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the AOA compared to the state-of-the-art area optimization approach. © 1968-2012 IEEE.

Strain rate sensitivity and deformation mechanism of integral-forming aluminum foam sandwich(IFAFS)under quasi-static and dynamic compression were *** Hopkinson pressure bar experiments with high-speed video cameras were conducted to analyze strain rate dependency and actual deformation mechanism of IFAFS.X-ray microtomography technique(Micro-CT)based on 3D finite element(FE)was used to study stress and plastic strain contours of IFAFS sample and to predict stress distribution and deformation history under both dynamic and quasi-static ***-inertia effect of typical cell structures was quantitatively analyzed by FE *** results showed that IFAFS is sensitive to strain rate where the deformation mode under dynamic loading is different from that observed under quasi-static *** strain rate increasing,good metallurgical bonding of face sheet and foam core layer contributed to improving the elastic modulus and peak stress of ***,finite element model confirmed that micro-inertia effect of IFAFS can be ignored during dynamic loading.

Attention Guided Enhancement Network for Weakly Supervised Semantic Segmentation

Weakly supervised semantic segmentation using only image-level labels is critical since it alleviates the need for expensive pixel-level labels. Most cuttingedge methods adopt two-step solutions that learn to produce pseudo-ground-truth using only image-level labels and then train off-the-shelf fully supervised semantic segmentation network with these pseudo labels. Although these methods have made significant progress, they also increase the complexity of the model and training. In this paper, we propose a one-step approach for weakly supervised image semantic segmentation—attention guided enhancement network(AGEN), which produces pseudopixel-level labels under the supervision of image-level labels and trains the network to generate segmentation masks in an end-to-end manner. Particularly, we employ class activation maps(CAM) produced by different layers of the classification branch to guide the segmentation branch to learn spatial and semantic ***, the CAM produced by the lower layer can capture the complete object region but with many ***, the self-attention module is proposed to enhance object regions adaptively and suppress irrelevant object regions, further boosting the segmentation *** on the Pascal VOC 2012 dataset demonstrate that AGEN outperforms alternative state-of-the-art weakly supervised semantic segmentation methods exclusively relying on image-level labels.

Observing eddy dye patches induced by shear instabilities in the surf zone on a plane beach

The effects of surf zone eddy generated by alongshore currents on the deformation and transport of dye are still poorly understood,and related tracer release experiments are ***,a tracer release laboratory experiment was conducted under monochromatic,unidirectional incident waves with a large incident angle(30°)on a plane beach with a 1:100 slope in a large wave basin.A charge-coupled device suspended above the basin recorded the dye patch *** evolution of eddy dye patch was observed and the transport and diffusion were analyzed based on the collected ***,a linear instability numerical model was adopted to calculate the perturbation velocity field at the initial *** observation and image processing results show that surf zone eddy patches occurred and were separated from the original dye *** numerical analysis results demonstrate that the structure of the perturbation velocity field is consistent with the experimental observations,and that the ejection of eddy patches shoreward or offshore may be ascribed to the double vortex.

Achieving high ductility and low in-plane anisotropy in magnesium alloy through a novel texture design strategy

Texture regulation is a prominent method to modify the mechanical properties and anisotropy of magnesium *** this work,the Mg-1Al-0.3Ca-0.5Mn-0.2Gd(wt.%)alloy sheet with TD-tilted and circular texture was fabricated by unidirectional rolling(UR)and multidirectional rolling(MR)method,*** generating a strong in-plane mechanical anisotropy in conventional TD-tilted texture,the novel circular texture sample possessed a weak in-plane yield *** can be rationalized by the similar proportion of soft grains with favorable orientation for basalslip and{10.12}tensile twinning during the uniaxial tension of circular-texture sample along different ***,compared with the TD-tilted texture,the circular texture improved the elongation to failure both along the rolling direction(RD)and transverse direction(TD).By quasi-in-situ EBSD-assisted slip trace analysis,higher activation of basal slip was observed in the circular-texture sample during RD tension,contributing to its excellent *** loading along the TD,the TD-tilted texture promoted the activation of{10.12}tensile twins significantly,thus providing nucleation sites for cracks and deteriorating the *** research may shed new insights into the development of formable and ductile Mg alloy sheets by texture modification.
