In this paper, we develop and investigate numerical methods for the self-consistent field theory (SCFT) of liquid crystalline polymers. Both the Flory-Huggins interaction potential and the Maier-Saupe orientational interaction are considered, enabling simultaneous exploration of microphase separation and liquid crystalline order in these systems. The main challenge in numerically solving this complex system lies in solving 6-dimensional (3D spatial + 2D orientation + 1D time) partial differential equations and performing nonlinear iterations to optimize the fields. We present ten numerical algorithms for solving high-dimensional PDEs and give an evaluation criterion of choosing the most appropriate PDE solver both from theoretical and numerical performance. Results demonstrate that coupling the fourth-order Runge-Kutta scheme with Fourier pseudo-spectral methods and spherical harmonic transformations is superior compared to other algorithms. We develop two nonlinear iteration schemes, alternating direction iteration method and Anderson mixing method, and design an adaptive technique to enhance the stability of the Anderson mixing method. Moreover, the cascadic multi-level (CML) technique further accelerates the SCFT computation when applied to these iteration methods. Meanwhile, an approach to optimize the computational domain is developed. To demonstrate the power of our approaches, we investigate the self-assembled behaviors of flexible-semiflexible diblock copolymers in 4, 5, 6-dimensional simulations. In this paper,we propose a finite element time-domain(FETD)method for the Maxwell’s equations in chiral metamaterials(CMMs).The time-domain model equations are constructed by the auxiliary differential equations(ADEs)*** source excitation method entitled total-field and scattered-field(TF/SF)decomposition technique is applied to FETD method for the first time in simulating the propagation of electromagnetic wave in CMMs,based on which a unified ADE-FETD-UPMLTF/SF scheme is proposed to simulate the wave in *** following properties of CMMs can be observed successfully from the numerical experiments based on our method,i.e.,the ability of the polarization rotation,and the negative phase *** amplitude of reflected wave can effectively be controlled by the physical parameters of CMMs.

As an intermediary between the power grid and the electric vehicles (EVs) in the charging station, the charging pile promotes the exchange of electric energy between the power grid and EV group and also brings benefits to the charging station. It is difficult to accurately analyze the detailed energy trading behavior of a large number of charging piles with the power grid and EV group. Based on the theoretical framework of mean field game (MFG), this paper considers the battery degradation and charging efficiency taking into account the charging demand of EVs, the charging control problem of energy storage charging piles is proposed to achieve the goal of minimizing the cost of the charging station. In addition to modeling the interaction between the charging station and power grid and EVs as a finite-time dynamic game problem, optimal decentralized energy scheduling control strategies are formulated for charging piles, and by introducing the mean field term, the optimal pricing strategy for power trading between the charging station and EVs is obtained under the mean field equilibrium condition. An iterative algorithm is proposed to solve the charging control problem, and the rationality of the problem and the effectiveness of the algorithm are verified by numerical simulation. © 2023 Chinese Automatic Control Society and John Wiley & Sons Australia, Ltd.

A response distortion correction method of Intensified Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (ICMOS) camera is proposed. First, the Fixed Pattern Noise (FPN) is removed from the original input image captured by the ICMOS camera. Second, the response correction using the traditional method, i.e., the polynomial fitting technique, is considered to eliminate the error to some extent. Third, a response correction using the machine learning-based method is proposed to decrease the error further. A kind of Improve Adaptive Genetic Algorithm-Support Vector Regression (IAGA-SVR) is designed to improve the computation effect of SVR. The inputs of IAGA-SVR include the manufacturing and response parameters of ICMOS camera;the output of it is the error compensation item. Extensive experiment results have shown that our proposed method can improve the response correction accuracy than the traditional and other improved optimal algorithm-based methods. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

On the role of cellular microstructure in austenite reversion in selective laser melted maraging steel

Cellular microstructure is a unique feature in alloys fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM).Abundant efforts have been made to reveal the formation mechanism of cellular microstructures and its influences on mechanical performances,while its potential role in microstructure architecting during post-heat treatment is rarely *** this work,we investigated the features of cellular microstructures in an SLM-fabricated 18Ni(300)steel and revealed how this microstructure influences austenite reversion upon *** of Ti and Mo is experimentally detected at cell *** is interestingly found that a distinctive reverted austenite network forms rapidly along cell boundaries during aging,whereas much less austenite is found in conventionally treated 18Ni(300)*** rapid austenite reversion in SLM-fabricated material proceeds mainly via the growth of retained austenite on cell boundaries while the nucleation and growth of new austenite grains is ***-field simulations suggest austenite grows in a fast,partitionless manner along cell boundaries where the chemical driving force for austen-ite reversion is substantially enhanced by Ti and Mo segregations,but in a sluggish,partitioning manner towards cell *** to conventional views that austenite fraction should be confined to avoid strength reduction,current SLM-fabricated 18Ni(300)steel containing∼13%cellular austenite is found to have higher tensile strength compared to its counterparts with negligible *** design of austen-ite also shows its potential to enhance fracture *** current study demonstrates that cellular structures could substantially alter austenite reversion behavior,providing a new route for microstructure architecting in additively manufactured steels.

This paper gives a summary of the organization and the presentations delivered at the 10th Conference on Magnetically Confined Fusion Theory and simulation(CMCFTS)held in Zhuhai,China,from 28th to 31st October *** conference focused on the latest progress in the research of the magnetic confined fusion plasma theory and simulations,as well as the largescale numerical simulation techniques developed in recent *** conference is held both online and offline,with about 110 domestic participants from 18 institutes participating in the live conference,and the statistical data from the live broadcast platform indicated that the online conference attracted over 20000 views per day.A summary of the conference is given,and the history of the CMCFTS is presented.A brief introduction to the poster section is also included in this paper.

General Theory for Longitudinal Nonreciprocal Charge Transport

The longitudinal nonreciprocal charge transport (NCT) in crystalline materials is a highly nontrivial phenomenon, motivating the design of next generation two-terminal rectification devices (e.g., semiconductor diodes beyond PN junctions). The practical application of such devices is built upon crystalline materials whose longitudinal NCT occurs at room temperature and under low magnetic field. However, materials of this type are rather rare and elusive, and theory guiding the discovery of these materials is lacking. Here, we develop such a theory within the framework of semiclassical Boltzmann transport theory. By symmetry analysis, we classify the complete 122 magnetic point groups with respect to the longitudinal NCT phenomenon. The symmetry-adapted Hamiltonian analysis further uncovers a previously overlooked mechanism for this phenomenon. Our theory guides the first-principles prediction of longitudinal NCT in multiferroic ϵ−Fe2O3 semiconductor that possibly occurs at room temperature, without the application of external magnetic field. These findings advance our fundamental understandings of longitudinal NCT in crystalline materials, and aid the corresponding materials discoveries.

Due to the limitations of physical imaging, acquiring high-resolution hyperspectral images (HR-HSIs) has always been a significant challenge. Single hyperspectral image super-resolution (SHSR) technology aims to generate corresponding HR-HSIs by processing low-resolution hyperspectral images (LR-HSIs). Compared to multi-source data fusion methods, SHSR relies solely on a single low-resolution image and does not require additional auxiliary information or multimodal data, making it more flexible and efficient in data acquisition. Recently, Kolmogorov–Arnold Networks (KAN), which derive from the Kolmogorov–Arnold representation theorem, show great potential in modeling long-range dependencies. In this paper, we further investigate the potential of KAN for hyperspectral image restoration. Specifically, we propose a spatial-spectral attention block (SSAB) module, which includes a KAN-based spatial attention module (KAN-SpaAB) and a KAN-based spectral attention module (KAN-SpeAB), designed for the restoration of spatial and spectral information, respectively. Experimental results demonstrate that KSSANet outperforms existing methods in both quantitative evaluation and image generation quality, achieving state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance. 3D Building Generation in Minecraft via Large Language Models

Recently, procedural content generation has exhibited considerable advancements in the domain of 2D game level generation such as Super Mario Bros. and Sokoban through large language models (LLMs). To further validate the capabilities of LLMs, this paper explores how LLMs contribute to the generation of 3D buildings in a sandbox game, Minecraft. We propose a Text to Building in Minecraft (T2BM) model, which involves refining prompts, decoding interlayer representation and repairing. Facade, indoor scene and functional blocks like doors are supported in the generation. Experiments are conducted to evaluate the completeness and satisfaction of buildings generated via LLMs. It shows that LLMs hold significant potential for 3D building generation. Given appropriate prompts, LLMs can generate correct buildings in Minecraft with complete structures and incorporate specific building blocks such as windows and beds, meeting the specified requirements of human users.
