We augment Naive Bayes models by using divide and conquer strategy to address shortcomings of the standard Naive Bayes text classifier. The result is a generalized Bayes classifier which allows for local dependence among feature subset;a model we refer to as the Augmented Naive Bayes (ANB) classifier. ANB relaxes the independence assumptions of Naive Bayes while still permitting efficient inference and learning. Experimental studies on a set of natural domains show that ANB has clear advantages with respect to the generalization ability.

Mechanical alloying and preparation of Fe-substituted CoSb3-based skutterudite Co4-xFexSb12 (x≤1) were studied. All the compositions showed similar kinetics in mechanical alloying, where the skutterudite phase was kinetically more favorable than CoSb2 phase initially. Then the latter became the strongest phase when milling time was increased. A single phase skutterudite structure could not be obtained via mechanical alloying. Hot pressing on powders milled for 10 hours yielded mostly skutterudite phase as well as minor residual Sb impurity, and single phase skutterudite compounds were finally obtained for Co4-xFexSb12 (x≤0.65) after annealing at 650℃ for 48 hours. The maximal solubility for Fe substitution seemed to be reached at x = 0.65.

In order to explore ways for the application of white rot fungus in dye effluent treatment under non-sterile conditions, experiment on decolorization of reactive brilliant red was carried out, employing nitrogen-limited and carbon-limited medium with C/N ratio of 56/2.2 and 28/44 (in mmol/L), respectively. The results showed that the decolorization rate reached 92% while culturing white rot fungus with ni- trogen-limited medium; however, the decolorization process ended in carbon-limited medium (n(C)/n(N) = 28/44) because of bacterial contamination. In addition, pH rose up to 9.31 after 4 d of decolorization, which was caused by bacterial contamination in the carbon-limited system. Therefore, it is concluded that nitrogen-limited medium can inhibit bacterial growth to some extent while carbon-limited medium is more easily contaminated by bacteria. Nitrogen-limited medium is more suitable in culture of white rot fungus for decolorization of reactive dye. Medium with the ability of inhibiting yeast growth should be developed by adjusting other components of nitrogen-limited medium.

The microstructure and wear behaviour of the thermite reaction coating produced by the hybrid laser claddingremelting on AA7075 aluminum alloy for the systems of Al-CuO-SiO2, Al-Cr2O3-SiO2, Al-Fe2O3-SiO2, and Al-TiO2-SiO2 were studied. The results of the X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis show that in all the four reaction coatings, α-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3 phases were present at the top surface, together with various intermetallic phases, the corresponding reduced metal and Al phase in the fusion zone. Under the dry sliding condition, the wear resistance, in terms of weight loss, of the laser-clad specimens was considerably higher than that of the untreated specimen. The predominant wear mechanism of the former specimens was abrasive wear, while for the latter, it was the adhesive wear that prevailed.

Predicted particle swarm optimization is an enhanced version aiming to increase the utilization ratio of velocity information, and the performance heavily relies upon the parameters settings. According to control theory, the trajectories of position and velocity vectors of each particle can be both viewed as oscillatory links, and the relationship between inertia weight and accelerator coefficients is obtained. Thus, a self-adjusting parameter strategy is proposed. simulation results show the new proposed strategy is powerful and useful.

Especially when r = 1, we show that {φj(x-k) | 1 &le j &le r, k ∈ s} is shift-orthogonal if there exist prewavelets with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction, i.e., non-trivial prewavelets with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction does not exist. As an example, when r = 2 we construct a prewavelet with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction where the scale function is not shift-orthogonal, which demonstrate that there exist vector prewavelets with finite decomposition and finite reconstruction.
