We consider the problem of pilot design for sparse multipath channel estimation in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system in this *** order to reconstruct MIMO sparse channel,the prevalent compressed sensing (CS) theory is *** to random pilot construction,a deterministic pilot de- sign method is exploited to form the measurement matrix by deterministically extracting some rows of Fourier matrix that satisfies Restricted Isometry Property (RIP).Two families of continuous functions,namely f1 -SL0 and f 2-SL0,are investi- gated in this paper to approximate A 0norm for MIMO sparse channel *** results suggest that the de- terministic pilot design scheme performs as well as the random one at both low and high signal noise ratio (SNR).Moreover,f1 - SL0 and f 2-SL0 outperform A 1-dantzig algorithm with faster running time and better anti-noisy performance.

Background:MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are a class of small non-coding RNAs,which negatively regulate protein coding genes at the posttranscriptional *** tiny regulators have been associated to almost all known physiological and pathological *** defects in miRNAs have been implicated in the etiology of many forms of human diseases. Apoptosis,autophagy and programmed necrosis are three distinct yet intimately connected functional modules of programmed cell death(PCD).In the past few years,increasing evidences suggested that aberrant expression of miRNAs regulate different subroutines of *** the roles of miRNAs in PCD network has attracted interests of researchers from a wide range of ***,a knowledge depository,which integrates information for both miRNAs and their targets in PCD network,will be of great help. Methods:Based on PubMed search,we firstly collected literatures which reported the roles of miRNAs in PCD before April ***,these literatures were inspected manually and the miRNAs and their targets genes were *** criterion for selecting PCD associated miRNAs in miRDeathDB is *** morphological or biochemical data should be provided when the miRNAs(or their targets) are manipulated in cell death *** miRDeathDB(http://***/mirdeathdb/) was developed,which allows users to browse,search and analyze the PCD associated miRNAs. Results:In total,210 records covering 86 miRNAs and 95 protein coding genes were collected in five model species:humans(Homo sapiens),mice(Mus musculus),fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster),rat(Rattus norvegicus) and African frog(Xenopus tropicalis). Most existing approaches of Web service selection with user preferences are either quantitative or qualitative. However, using a qualitative or quantitative approach alone cannot handle all the non-functional properties(NFPs). To solve this problem, we present an approach of service selection with quantitative and qualitative user preferences, where qualitative preferences are modeled as a TCP-net and quantitative preferences are specified by using arbitrary positive numbers. Our approach consists of two steps, that is, qualitative selection based on qualitative preferences and quantitative selection based on quantitative preferences. We prove its effectiveness and verify its efficiency through extensive experiments. © 2011 IEEE.

Lightweight Privacy-Aware Yet Accountable Secure Scheme for SM-SGCC Communications in Smart Grid

Smart grid is envisioned as a critical application of cyber-physical systems and of the internet of things. In the smart grid, smart meters equipped with wireless sensors can upload meter readings （data） to smart grid control and schedule centers via the advanced metering infrastructure to improve power delivery efficiency. However, data gathered in short intervals, such as 15 minutes, will expose customers＇ detailed daily activities （for example, when they get up and when they use oven） using nonintrusive appliance load monitoring. Thus, data must be hidden to protect customers＇ privacy. However, data accountability is still required for emergency responses or to trace back suspected intrusions, even though the data is anonymous. In addition to desired security requirements, this imposes two extra tasks： Sensors in smart meters usually have resource constraints; thus, the desired security protocols have to remain lightweight in terms of computation and storage cost. Furthermore, scalability and flexibility are required since there exist vast meters. This paper presents a lightweight Privacy-aware yet Accountable Secure Scheme called PASS which guarantees privacy-aware accountability yet tackles the above challenges in the smart grid. A formal secu- rity analysis justifies that PASS can attain the security goals, while a performance analysis verifies that PASS requires few computations, and is scalable and flexible.

we present a robust and universal quantum secret sharing protocol with four-qubit decoherence-free （DF） states against collective noise. The transmission＇s safety is ensured by the nonorthogonality of the noiseless states traveling on the quantum channel. Although this scheme uses entangled states for encoding, only single-particle product measurements are required.

Recently Vadim Lyubashevsky etc. built LWE problem on ring and proposed a public cryptosystem based on R-LWE, which, to a certain extent, solved the defect of large public key of this kind, but it didn't offer parameter selections and performance analysis in detail. In this paper an improved scheme is proposed by sharing a ring polynomial vector that makes public key as small as 1/m of the original scheme in multi-user environments. In additions, we introduce a parameter r to control both the private key space size and decryption errors probability, which greatly enhances the flexibly and practicality. The correctness, security and efficiency are analyzed in detail and choice of parameters is studied, at last concrete parameters are recommended for the new scheme. © 2011 IEEE.

High-Order Bit Independence Criterion Test for the S-boxes

A new security test for the substitution boxes （S-boxes） high-order bit independence criterion （HOBIC） test, is presented. Different from the previous security tests for S-boxes, the HOBIC test can be used to measure the strength of an S-box against attacks that keep some of its input bits constant. Test results over the S-boxes of Data Encryption Standard （DES） and Advanced Encryption Standard （AES） are given and some possible applications of the HOBIC test are analyzed. Meanwhile, the source code for a basic version of the HOBIC test is also provided, the implement process of which shows that it is very fast and efficient for practical applications .

A measurement of the Higgs boson mass is presented based on the combined data samples of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in the H→γγ and H→ZZ→4ℓ decay channels. The results are obtained from a simultaneous fit to the reconstructed invariant mass peaks in the two channels and for the two experiments. The measured masses from the individual channels and the two experiments are found to be consistent among themselves. The combined measured mass of the Higgs boson is mH=125.09±0.21 (stat)±0.11 (syst) GeV.

An architecture description language based on dynamic description logics for self-healing systems

As biological systems exhibit adaptation, healing and robustness in the face of changing environmental behavior, this paradigm has actuated research dealing with the concept of self-healing systems, which attempt to heal themselves in the sense of recovering from malicious attacks and rectifying of system faults. The goal of self-healing systems is to provide survivable systems that require high dependability, robustness, adaptability, and availability. Such systems maintain one or more models, whether external or internal, at run time as a basis for identifying problems and resolving them. This article describes an architectural description language, called ADML, which is being developed as a new formal language and/or conceptual model for representing evolving software architectures. The ADML embraces dynamic change as a fundamental consideration, supports a broad class of adaptive changes at the architectural level, and offers a uniform way to represent and reason about both static and dynamic aspects of self-healing systems. Because the ADML is based on the Dynamic Description Logic DDL(SHON (D)), which can represent both dynamic semantics and static semantics under a unified logical framework, architectural ontology entailment for the ADML languages can be reduced to knowledge base satisfiability in DDL(SHON (D)), and dynamic description logic algorithms and implementations can be used to provide reasoning services for ADML. In this article, we present the syntax of ADML, explain its underlying semantics using the Dynamic Description Logic DDL(SHON (D)), and exemplify our approach by applying it to the domain of load balancing a wireless remote-access system;the preliminary results certify the potential of the approach.

Discriminatory behavior in peer-to-peer trust model

A new malicious behavior in trust model based on weighted average in peer to peer (P2P), named discriminatory behavior, was discovered. The honest service was provided only for nodes of high weight in order to deceive high trust value. The essence of discriminatory behaviors was analyzed, the formalized definition was given and the implementation policies for them were discussed, and the EigenTrust model was taken as example to simulate and verify it. Simulation results show that, compared with other known malicious behaviors, the discriminatory behavior causes more damage. Discriminatory behavior peers only provide 5%~15% honest service, but obtaine trust value, which is higher than half of the trust value of good nodes.
