Protein design has become a critical method in advancing significant potential for various applications such as drug development and enzyme engineering. However, protein design methods utilizing large language models with solely pretraining and fine-tuning struggle to capture relationships in multi-modal protein data. To address this, we propose ProtDAT, a de novo fine-grained framework capable of designing proteins from any descriptive protein text input. ProtDAT builds upon the inherent characteristics of protein data to unify sequences and text as a cohesive whole rather than separate entities. It leverages an innovative multi-modal cross-attention, integrating protein sequences and textual information for a foundational level and seamless integration. Experimental results demonstrate that ProtDAT achieves the state-of-the-art performance in protein sequence generation, excelling in rationality, functionality, structural similarity, and validity. On 20,000 text-sequence pairs from Swiss-Prot, it improves pLDDT by 6%, TM-score by 0.26, and reduces RMSD by 1.2 Å, highlighting its potential to advance protein design. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

Due to the constraints of manufacturing and materials,high-power plants cannot rely on only one solid oxide fuel cell stack.A multi-stack system is a solution for a highpower system,which consists of multiple fuel cell stacks.A short lifetime is one of the main challenges for the fuel cell before largescale commercial applications,and prognostic is an important method to improve the reliability of fuel *** from the traditional prognostic approaches applied to single-stack fuel cell systems,the key problem in multi-stack prediction is how to solve the correlation of multi-stack degradation,which can directly affect the accuracy of *** response to this difficulty,a standard Brownian motion is added to the traditional Wiener process to model the degradation of each stack,and then the probability density function of the remaining useful life(RUL)of each stack is ***,a Copula function is adopted to reflect the dependence between life distributions,so as to obtain the remaining useful life for the whole multi-stack system.1 The simulation results show that compared with the traditional prediction model,the proposed approach has a higher prediction accuracy for multi-stack fuel cell systems.

FASTC: A Fast Attentional Framework for Semantic Traversability Classification Using Point Cloud

Producing traversability maps and understanding the surroundings are crucial prerequisites for autonomous navigation. In this paper, we address the problem of traversability assessment using point clouds. We propose a novel pillar feature extraction module that utilizes PointNet to capture features from point clouds organized in vertical volume and a 2D encoder-decoder structure to conduct traversability classification instead of the widely used 3D convolutions. This results in less computational cost while even better performance is achieved at the same time. We then propose a new spatio-temporal attention module to fuse multi-frame information, which can properly handle the varying density problem of LIDAR point clouds, and this makes our module able to assess distant areas more accurately. Comprehensive experimental results on augmented Semantic KITTI and RELLIS-3D datasets show that our method is able to achieve superior performance over existing approaches both quantitatively and quantitatively. Today, the world economy is in the stage of rapid development, followed by the rising quantity, the decreasing moisture content, and the increasing heat value of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW). Since waste incineration has the advantages of excellent volume reduction effect, high resource utilization efficiency, and less secondary pollution to the environment, waste incineration disposal technology has received extensive attention worldwide. With the continuous increase of the urban population, the amount of sewage sludge is growing year by year. The process of the sludge incineration system is highly complicated, and the cost of construction and operation is high. The waste incinerator can process not only MSW but also sewage sludge. Therefore, the co-incineration of sewage sludge with MSW in the existing waste incinerator is a safe and effective way to dispose of sewage sludge. In this paper, the simulation results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are analyzed for medium-scale and large-scale waste incinerators, characterized by high moisture content, high ash content, low heat value of sewage sludge, and incomplete combustion and high pollutant emissions in waste incinerators. With FLIC-Fluent coupled simulation method, the critical information such as temperature field, velocity field, concentration field of principal components, and the pollutant emissions can be predicted. Based on the CFD simulation results, the performance and structure of waste incinerators can be optimized, and the new products can be designed and developed. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. In the fields of information security, the application of random numbers is becoming more and more widespread. True random numbers (TRNs) tend to have better randomness and unpredictability than pseudo random numbers (PRNs). Chaotic systems are very suitable for constructing true random number generators (TRNG) due to their periodic infinity, randomicity, long-term unpredictability, high sensitivity to initial values and parameters, etc. However, when chaotic systems are implemented by finite state machines, their dynamic characteristics will disappear, such as periodic infinity and initial value sensitivity, and there are serious safety concerns about the random number generator designed on this basis. In order to address the degradation problem of the chaotic systems, this paper proposes a true random number generator based on the chaotic circuit, implements a complete hardware system, and tests its randomness. © 2022 SPIE.

Microgrids subjected to secondary cooperative control encounter significant challenges, including operational constraints and clock drifts, adversely affecting their stability and efficiency. This paper provides conditions that assure optimal microgrid performance in both transient and steady-state scenarios, focusing on the effects of clock drifts and fluctuations in load. Furthermore, we introduce a novel approach for designing secondary control parameters, specifically engineered to minimize steady-state discrepancies attributable to clock drifts while ensuring adherence to standards for transient operations. Comprehensive experimental validations corroborate the effectiveness of our proposed solutions. © 2024 IEEE.

Constrained multiobjective optimization problems (CMOPs) are prevalent in various real-world applications, presenting a formidable challenge to existing evolutionary algorithms when faced with intricate constraints. When solving CMOPs, a crucial concern is achieving a balance between convergence, diversity, and feasibility. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a two-archive-based constrained multiobjective competitive swarm optimizer. The algorithm preserves two collaborative and complementary archives to improve population convergence and feasibility. By implementing a competitive particle swarm mechanism, offspring solutions are generated by drawing upon solutions from both archives, thus capitalizing on their synergistic effect and exceptional information. An adaptive parameter is also used to adjust the bias in choosing the winner in the paired competition during the evolution. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in handling constrained multiobjective optimization problems. © 2023 IEEE.

Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells(PEMFCs) are prone to decreased lifespan due to the degradation of the plat-inum(Pt) catalyst during operation. In this study, we have established a one-dimensional model to investigate the effects of different voltage conditions on Pt degradation. High potential is found to be the most significant factor affecting the degradation. Prolonged exposure to high potentials will significantly reduce the PEMFC's lifespan, and frequent voltage changes will exac-erbate the problem. To mitigate this issue, we have designed three energy management strategies with different limitations and simulated their performance in the operating scenario of a fuel-cell hybrid electric vehicle(FCHEV). The results demonstrate that strategies restricting high potential occurrences and voltage variations can effectively alleviate Pt degradation. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In the task of path planning, the unmanned surface vessels (USV) are required to reach the destination while avoiding obstacle. However, it is difficult for USV to prioritize the two sub-target tasks of destination arrival and obstacle avoidance in a complex dynamic environment using traditional path planning methods. Based on the above considerations, a path planning method for USVs based on strategy integration is proposed. Firstly, the path planning scenario containing dynamic obstacles and two sub-target scenarios are set up. In order to strengthen its ability to reach the destination and avoid dynamic obstacles, the dynamic obstacles and the destination are removed separately in the two sub-target scenarios. Furthermore, the model for strategy selection is trained on action decisions in sub-target scenarios through double deep Q-Network with prioritized experience replay. Finally, a framework for strategy integration is designed to optimize strategy selection for USV. The simulation results show that the proposed method achieves a good overall performance and a higher path planning success rate than the traditional path planning method. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
