Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common lung cancer with poor prognosis. Prognostic prediction is significant in improving the prognosis of NSCLC patients. Clinical information and multi-omics data including gene expression, miRNA, copy number variations, and DNA methylation are closely related to NSCLC prognosis. In this study, we propose a deep neural network to conduct prognostic prediction for NSCLC patients based on all five types of data. Given the high dimensional features of the omics data, past works reduce the feature dimension by regression analysis or correlation sorting algorithms. A shortcoming of these methods is that only a small number of features are considered. To overcome it, we propose a convolution neural network-based feature transformation method, which considers all features and extracts the abstract representations of the omics data. Based on the representations, we predict the five-year survival status of NSCLC patients. The results show that our method achieves a more precise prediction than previous work, with the areas under the curve improved from 0.8163 to 0.8508 and the accuracy improved from 0.7544 to 0.8096. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper proposes a novel three-dimensional (3D) theoretical regular-shaped geometry-based stochastic model (RS-GBSM) and the corresponding sum-of-sinusoids (SoS) simulation model for non-isotropic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) Ricean fading channels. The proposed RS-GBSM, combining line-of-sight (LoS) components, a two-sphere model, and an elliptic-cylinder model, has the ability to study the impact of the vehicular traffic density (VTD) on channel statistics, and jointly considers the azimuth and elevation angles by using the von Mises Fisher distribution. Moreover, a novel parameter computation method is proposed for jointly calculating the azimuth and elevation angles in the SoS channel simulator. Based on the proposed 3D theoretical RS-GBSM and its SoS simulation model, statistical properties are derived and thoroughly investigated. The impact of the elevation angle in the 3D model on key statistical properties is investigated by comparing with those of the corresponding two-dimensional (2D) model. It is demonstrated that the 3D model is more accurate to characterize real V2V channels, in particular for pico cell scenarios. Finally, close agreement is achieved between the theoretical model, SoS simulation model, and simulation results, demonstrating the utility of the proposed models. © 2023, CC BY.

Rolling bearing is of vital significance in industrial applications and Intelligent fault diagnosis (IFD) have been widely exploited in this field. However, cross-machine variations hinder the model performance across different machines in varying working conditions. To solve this issue, many unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) approaches have been proposed recently, requiring direct access to the fully labeled source domain. However, privacy concerns are raised in traditional UDA scenario, since raw signals contain various private information. To address this issue, the source-free unsupervised domain adaptation (SFUDA) scenario is considered, where only the pre-trained source model is required, instead of the fully labeled source domain. In this paper, a SFUDA approach for intelligent fault diagnosis (IFD) is proposed. It consists of two steps: 1) source model generalization, where virtual adversarial training, R-Drop and label smoothing techniques are adopted to improve the generalization ability of the source model; and 2) target model adaptation, where information maximization is used for cluster assumption and mean teacher training paradigm is utilized to alleviate the catastrophic forgetting phenomenon. The proposed approach is verified on the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) dataset. Experimental results on the show that the proposed SFUDA approach outperforms several typical UDA approaches, and its effectiveness is verified.

Existing deep siamese trackers are typically built on off-the-shelf CNN models for feature learning, with the demand for huge power consumption and memory storage. This limits current deep siamese trackers to be carried on resource-constrained devices like mobile phones, given factor that such a deployment normally requires cost-effective considerations. In this work, we address this issue by presenting a novel Distilled Learning Framework(DLF) for siamese tracking, which aims at learning tracking model with efficiency and high accuracy. Specifically, we propose two simple yet effective knowledge distillation strategies, denote as point-wise distillation and pairwise distillation, which are designed for transferring knowledge from a more discriminative teacher tracker into a compact student tracker. In this way, cost-effective and high performance tracking could be achieved. Extensive experiments on several tracking benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method.

A Stronger Baseline for Ego-Centric Action Detection

This technical report analyzes an egocentric video action detection method we used in the 2021 EPIC-KITCHENS-100 competition hosted in CVPR2021 Workshop. The goal of our task is to locate the start time and the end time of the action in the long untrimmed video, and predict action category. We adopt sliding window strategy to generate proposals, which can better adapt to short-duration actions. In addition, we show that classification and proposals are conflict in the same network. The separation of the two tasks boost the detection performance with high efficiency. By simply employing these strategy, we achieved 16.10% performance on the test set of EPIC-KITCHENS-100 Action Detection challenge using a single model, surpassing the baseline method by 11.7% in terms of average mAP. Novel view synthesis of remote sensing scenes is of great significance for scene visualization, human-computer interaction, and various downstream applications. Despite the recent advances in computer graphics and photogrammetry technology, generating novel views is still challenging particularly for remote sensing images due to its high complexity, view sparsity and limited view-perspective variations. In this paper, we propose a novel remote sensing view synthesis method by leveraging the recent advances in implicit neural representations. Considering the overhead and far depth imaging of remote sensing images, we represent the 3D space by combining implicit multiplane images (MPI) representation and deep neural networks. The 3D scene is reconstructed under a self-supervised optimization paradigm through a differentiable multiplane renderer with multi-view input constraints. images from any novel views thus can be freely rendered on the basis of the reconstructed model. As a by-product, the depth maps corresponding to the given viewpoint can be generated along with the rendering output. We refer to our method as Implicit Multiplane images (ImMPI). To further improve the view synthesis under sparse-view inputs, we explore the learning-based initialization of remote sensing 3D scenes and proposed a neural network based Prior extractor to accelerate the optimization process. In addition, we propose a new dataset for remote sensing novel view synthesis with multi-view real-world google earth images. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of the ImMPI over previous state-of-the-art methods in terms of reconstruction accuracy, visual fidelity, and time efficiency. DNA-based data storage has been attracting significant attention due to its extremely high data storage density, low power consumption, and long duration compared to conventional data storage media. Despite the recent advancements in DNA data storage technology, significant challenges remain. In particular, various types of errors can occur during the processes of DNA synthesis, storage, and sequencing, including substitution errors, insertion errors, and deletion errors. Furthermore, the entire oligo may be lost. In this work, we report a DNA-based data storage architecture that incorporates efficient channel coding schemes, including different types of error-correcting codes (ECCs) and constrained codes, for both the inner coding and outer coding for the DNA data storage channel. We also carried out large scale experiments to validate our proposed DNA-based data storage architecture. Specifically, 1.61 and 1.69 MB data were encoded into 30,000 oligos each, with information densities of 1.731 and 1.815, respectively. It has been found that the stored information can be fully recovered without any error at average coverages of 4.5 and 6.0, respectively. This experiment achieved the highest net information density and lowest coverage among existing DNA-based data storage experiments (with standard DNA), with data recovery rates and coverage approaching theoretical optima. Patients with limb dysfunction have limited mobility,which prevents them from performing daily *** have developed an assistive robot system with an intuitive head free gaze *** system consists of multiple modules,including 3 D gaze estimation,head free coordinate transformation,intention recognition,and robot trajectory *** robotic assistive system obtains clues from the user’s gaze to decode their intentions and implement *** allows the user only needs to look at the objects to make the robot system reach,grasp,and bring them to the *** 3 D gaze estimation is evaluated with 5 subjects,showing an overall accuracy of 5.53±1.2 *** integrated system’s experimental results show that the success rate is 96% in the implementation of automatic trajectory planning,and the success rate is 92% in the implementation of fixation-based trajectory ***,the results and work required to improve the system are discussed.
