Uniform Solution to QSAT by P Systems with Proteins

P systems are distributed parallel computing models in the area of membrane computing, which are inspired by the structure and the functioning of living cells, as well as the organization of cells in tissues, organs, and other higher order structures. P systems with proteins on membranes are a class of P systems, which have proved to be very efficient computing devices. Specifically, it was known that the Quantified satisfiability problem (QSAT) of a Boolean formula can be solved by a semi-uniform family of P systems with proteins on membranes and with membrane division. However, it remains open whether a uniform families of P systems with proteins on membranes can solve in polynomial time exactly the class of problems PSPACE. In this work, we present a uniform solution to QSAT problem by P systems with proteins on membranes in a linear time with respect to both the number $n$ of Boolean variables and the number $m$ of clauses of the instance, which answers the above open problem.

Compared to traditional area coverage algorithms, this paper proposes a re-plannable multi-agent coverage path planning algorithm to address issues such as low coverage rate of multiple agents in large-scale scenarios like warehouses and inability to cope with local environmental changes. Initially, the MSTC∗ algorithm is utilized to create the coverage path based on the available map information. To address scenarios like idle areas for material placement, the method introduces local area detection and path re-planning to enhance the coverage rate. This paper verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm under different maps through simulation experiments. Compared with the coverage situation of other coverage path planning algorithms in environments with local area updates, the algorithm proposed in this paper has a higher coverage rate in this scenario. © 2023 IEEE.

Bokeh effect transformation is a novel task in computer vision and computational photography. It aims to convert bokeh effects from one camera lens to another. To this end, we introduce a new concept of blur ratio, which represents the ratio of the blur amount of a target image to that of a source image, and propose a novel framework SBTNet based on this concept. For cat-eye simulation and lens type transformation, a two-channel coordinate map and a two-channel one-hot map are added as extra inputs. The core of the framework is a sequence of parallel FeaNets, along with a feature selection and integration strategy, which aims to transform the blur amount with arbitrary blur ratio. The effectiveness of the proposed framework is demonstrated through extensive experiments, and our solution has achieved the top LPIPS metric in NTIRE 2023 Bokeh Effect Transformation Challenge. © 2023 IEEE.

Whale optimisation algorithm with role labour division for multimodal optimisation

The multimodal optimisation problem challenges the balance between diversity and convergence, which poses a great degree of challenge to traditional population-based intelligence optimisers. The whale optimisation algorithm has the limitation of easily falling into local optimum when facing multimodal optimisation. To address this problem, this paper proposes a whale optimisation algorithm with role labour division (WOA-RDL). In WOA-RDL, a multi-stage role division of labour mechanism is designed to divide the optimisation process into two stages of group hunting. In the first stage, the task allocation in the hunting process is considered as two types of search tasks: exploration and exploitation. The external environmental stimulus of the task and the internal response threshold of the individual were designed to allow individuals to switch between exploration and exploitation tasks flexibly. In the second stage, the distribution mechanism of different roles was designed to simulate the 'strong to weak' distribution rule for the distribution of results after the hunt. The elite roles are selected to further strengthen their capabilities or remain robust, while the inferior roles are predicted and eliminated to improve the overall optimisation of the population and reduce the risk of falling into a local optimum. The results of the optimisation experiments using multimodal, unimodal, CEC2017 combined functions and CEC2009 dynamic functions to validate the effectiveness of the algorithm. Learning Probabilistic Coordinate Fields for Robust Correspondences

We introduce Probabilistic Coordinate Fields (PCFs), a novel geometric-invariant coordinate representation for image correspondence problems. In contrast to standard Cartesian coordinates, PCFs encode coordinates in correspondence-specific barycentric coordinate systems (BCS) with affine invariance. To know when and where to trust the encoded coordinates, we implement PCFs in a probabilistic network termed PCF-Net, which parameterizes the distribution of coordinate fields as Gaussian mixture models. By jointly optimizing coordinate fields and their confidence conditioned on dense flows, PCF-Net can work with various feature descriptors when quantifying the reliability of PCFs by confidence maps. An interesting observation of this work is that the learned confidence map converges to geometrically coherent and semantically consistent regions, which facilitates robust coordinate representation. By delivering the confident coordinates to keypoint/feature descriptors, we show that PCF-Net can be used as a plug-in to existing correspondence-dependent approaches. Extensive experiments on both indoor and outdoor datasets suggest that accurate geometric invariant coordinates help to achieve the state of the art in several correspondence problems, such as sparse feature matching, dense image registration, camera pose estimation, and consistency filtering. Further, the interpretable confidence map predicted by PCF-Net can also be leveraged to other novel applications from texture transfer to multi-homography classification. © 1979-2012 IEEE.

Game-based Secondary control for DC Microgrids with Nash Equilibrium

Voltage regulation and current sharing are two major issues when designing distributed control strategies for DC microgrids. However, power supply economy of local generators also needs to be considered. In this paper, a game-based framework is constructed, where multiple generators are regarded as the participants with secondary control signals being the game actions. A distributed secondary control algorithm is proposed, while information mask is introduced to avoid transmitting true control signal to neighbors. Then, payoff function is designed for each generator, which is composed of voltage regulation error, current sharing error and the local generation cost. It is proved that under the proposed secondary control algorithm in conjunction with the payoff function, a unique Nash equilibrium can be reached. Consequently, the minimum of the payoff function can be achieved, where the optimization of system control behavior and local economic operation can be realized simultaneously. Numerical simulations and experimental tests are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed secondary control strategy within several scenarios. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

Multi-modal histological image registration tasks pose significant challenges due to tissue staining operations causing partial loss and folding of *** neural network(CNN)and generative adversarial network(GAN)are pivotal inmedical image ***,existing methods often struggle with severe interference and deformation,as seen in histological images of conditions like Cushing’s *** argue that the failure of current approaches lies in underutilizing the feature extraction capability of the discriminator *** this study,we propose a novel multi-modal registration approach GAN-DIRNet based on GAN for deformable histological image *** begin with,the discriminators of two GANs are embedded as a new dual parallel feature extraction module into the unsupervised registration networks,characterized by implicitly extracting feature descriptors of specific ***,modal feature description layers and registration layers collaborate in unsupervised optimization,facilitating faster convergence and more precise ***,experiments and evaluations were conducted on the registration of the Mixed National Institute of Standards and Technology database(MNIST),eight publicly available datasets of histological sections and the Clustering-Registration-Classification-Segmentation(CRCS)dataset on the Cushing’s *** results demonstrate that our proposed GAN-DIRNet method surpasses existing approaches like DIRNet in terms of both registration accuracy and time efficiency,while also exhibiting robustness across different image types.

Deep learning-based methods have shown their wide application prospects in the field of solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC) prediction. However, the irrationality of the prediction object and the lack of prediction accuracy have hindered the progress of the prediction methods for SOFC systems. Therefore, two algorithms are proposed in this study, a feature selection algorithm based on maximum information coefficient and Bayesian information criterion for identifying key variables that are sensitive to changes in the SOFC system, and a prediction model based on a genetic algorithm optimized for sequence to sequence architecture. The M/BIC algorithm reduces the number of features by 62.5% (from 40 to 15), which contributes to the acceleration of the algorithm training and the subsequent sensor layout optimization. The prediction model incorporates a two-dimensional convolutional neural network and a multi-head attention mechanism to capture more information in the input sequence, an encoder-decoder architecture and a Gated recurrent unit to better predict performance trends. Tests with real experimental data show significant changes in feature dimensionality reduction and prediction accuracy. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

This paper solves USV path planning problem constrained by multiple factors via ant-colony optimization algorithm. First, this paper uses the ways of multi-objective optimization to model the USV path planning problem. An improved ant colony algorithm named ACO-SA is put forward afterwards to effectively solve the problem. The algorithm is a combination of ACO algorithm(ant colony algorithm) and SA algorithm(simulated annealing algorithm), which has three improments: change the initial distribution of pheromone to guide the search when the algorithm has just started running;change the heuristic function and state transition probability taking three factors into consideration;change the pheromone update rule and make the ants compete for the right to update pheromone by simulated annealing algorithm, and update the best solution by the same algorithm. Finally, simulation experiment and field experiment are conducted to check the validity of ACO-SA algorithm. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

The piezoelectric actuator is one kind of device that can drive nanoscale motion. However, the nonlinear hysteresis effect induced by its natural material greatly degrades its positioning accuracy. To handle this challenging issue, this work develops a Koopman model predict control (Koopman- MPC) framework for the piezoelectric actuator. Specifically, the Koopman operator theory is adapted for modeling the piezoelectric actuator dynamics. A simple yet powerful linear model spanned in a high-dimensional space is thus constructed to characterize the hysteresis dynamics. Subsequently, upon the established Koopman model, an MPC scheme is put forward for tracking control of piezoelectric actuators. Therein, by sustained optimizing a cost function containing future outputs and control increments, the control input is obtained. Moreover, extensive tracking simulations are carried out on a simulated piezoelectric actuator for verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of the Koopman- Mpc scheme. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.
