Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a non-contact method for measuring heart rate (HR) through facial video, which has significant research value and application potential. However, in long-distance vital sign measurement tasks, the low resolution of facial images and insufficient pixels in the facial region severely degrade the quality of the rPPG signals, leading to a sharp decline in HR accuracy. To address this issue, this paper proposes an adversarial learning network for recovering rPPG signals from low-resolution images (ALRSL-HR). First, arbitrary resolution face images are fed into multi-channel network to extract rPPG signal features capturing rich rPPG information, generating rPPG feature blocks, and temporally aggregating for richer feature representation. These features are then inputted into the backbone network to generate adversarial examples of rPPG signals of varying qualities. Finally, a two-stage adversarial loss function is employed to enable the low-quality rPPG signals to learn the periodic characteristics of high-quality rPPG signals, recover the low-quality signals, and narrow the quality gap between rPPG signals from low-resolution images. Extensive experiments were conducted in this paper to validate the effectiveness of our model on the public COHFACE, UBFC-Phys and UBFC-rPPG datasets. The results of the experiments demonstrate that the proposed ALRSL-HR model can effectively recover degraded rPPG signals from low-resolution images. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Deep convolutional neural networks have been widely used in scene classification of remotely sensed images. In this work, we propose a robust learning method for the task that is secure against partially incorrect categorization of images. Specifically, we remove and correct errors in the labels progressively by iterative multi-view voting and entropy ranking. At each time step, we first divide the training data into disjoint parts for separate training and voting. The unanimity in the voting reveals the correctness of the labels, so that we can train a strong model with only the images with unanimous votes. In addition, we adopt entropy as an effective measure for prediction uncertainty, in order to partially recover labeling errors by ranking and selection. We empirically demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method on the WHU-RS19 dataset and the AID dataset. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper presents a distributed shadow dynamic consensus (DSDC) framework to address the generation company (GENCO) strategic bidding problem in the independent system operator (ISO) operation. First, each sub-group is defined according to the communication principle. The global resource allocation can be solved by introducing the local shadow power demand. Then, for the general market clearing optimization problem, a distributed dynamic consensus algorithm is presented to estimate the general equality constraint. The optimal locational marginal price (LMP) and power allocation in each sub-group are obtained in this step. Finally, the optimal solution is corrected when considering the transmission constraint. A theoretical analysis of the DSDC framework is provided. The algorithm and model are tested by the IEEE 30-bus test system to support the proposed DSDC framework.

The thesis studies the semi-global scaled edge-consensus of linear discrete-time multi-agent systems under both the directed networks and undirected networks, where the states of each edge are subject to input saturation and positive constraint. By virtue of the MARE-based low-gain feedback method, two control protocols about directed networks and undirected networks are devised respectively to promise the positive scaled edge-consensus with input saturation. Thus we find the sufficient conditions to promise the positive edge states and overcome the input saturation. Finally, two representative examples are presented to prove the results.

Quantum trajectory can be viewed as a numerical simulation method for wavefunctions which consume smaller memories compared to density matrices in master equations. In this paper, we adopt quantum trajectory to simulate the evolution of a non-Markovian quantum system modeled by an augmented system and further use parallel computing to improve efficiency. Compared to the Lindblad master equation solver in QuTiP, it can run more efficiently using less memory. In the example of a 8-spin-chain non-Markovian system, it only takes about 0.57% of the memory footprint and 4.12% of the runtime of the solver for the Lindblad master equation.

3D object detection is an essential perception task in autonomous driving to understand the environments. The Bird’s-Eye-View (BEV) representations have significantly improved the performance of 3D detectors with camera inputs on popular benchmarks. However, there still lacks a systematic understanding of the robustness of these vision-dependent BEV models, which is closely related to the safety of autonomous driving systems. In this paper, we evaluate the natural and adversarial robustness of various representative models under extensive settings, to fully understand their behaviors influenced by explicit BEV features compared with those without BEV. In addition to the classic settings, we propose a 3D consistent patch attack by applying adversarial patches in the 3D space to guarantee the spatiotemporal consistency, which is more realistic for the scenario of autonomous driving. With substantial experiments, we draw several findings: 1) BEV models tend to be more stable than previous methods under different natural conditions and common corruptions due to the expressive spatial representations;2) BEV models are more vulnerable to adversarial noises, mainly caused by the redundant BEV features;3) Camera-LiDAR fusion models have superior performance under different settings with multi-modal inputs, but BEV fusion model is still vulnerable to adversarial noises of both point cloud and image. image matching navigation technology, known for its exceptional precision and anti-interference capabilities, has been widely applied in aircraft navigation. Adaptability analysis, a core component of this technology, is critical for enhancing matching performance. Existing deep learning-based adaptability analysis methods lack feature extraction networks specifically designed for adaptability analysis, which hinders their ability to fully capture the saliency and uniqueness features within adaptability regions. This limitation consequently restricts their performance in the adaptability analysis of remote sensing images. A novel remote sensing image adaptability network architecture named US-SwinT is proposed. The network consists of two core modules: saliency analysis and uniqueness analysis, designed to effectively utilize regional scene perception to accurately predict matchability of reference images. The multi-scale saliency analysis module adaptively fuses global contextual information with local detail features through a dynamic weighting mechanism, enhancing the model's ability to discern key regions. The uniqueness module employs cosine similarity to analyze feature similarity between regions, effectively assessing redundancy of regional features. By suppressing highly similar regional features, it enhances capture of regional differences. Experimental results demonstrate that US-SwinT outperforms traditional methods and other deep learning models across multiple key metrics, significantly improving accuracy and robustness of remote sensing image adaptability analysis.

To the common unsteady inverse heat conduction problem in the industrial field, a real-time solution strategy of improving whale optimization algorithm (IWOA) and parameter-adaptive Proportional-integral-differential (PID) is proposed in the paper. This strategy improves the initial solution distribution, global search capability and population diversity generalization of traditional WOA, which effectively improves the parameters-adaptive capability of PID. In solving the unsteady inverse heat conduction problem, the IWOA-PID feedback control model is first established to adaptively obtain the optimal PID parameters at each time. Then, the deviation between the calculated temperature and the measured temperature of the measured point obtained by solving the direct heat conduction problem (DHCP) is used as the system input. Finally, the real-time heat flux at the boundary of the heat conduction system is solved iteratively. The experimental results shown that the inverse algorithm proposed in the paper can accurately retrieve the variation of the boundary heat flux in real-time, and has good resistance and self-adaptability. © 2022, The Authors. Pseudo-LiDAR for Visual Odometry

As one of the important tasks in the field of robotics and machine vision, LiDAR/visual odometry provides tremendous help for various applications such as navigation, location, etc. In the existing methods, LiDAR odometry shows superior performance, but visual odometry is still widely used for its price advantage. Conventionally, the task of visual odometry mainly rely on the input of continuous images. However, it is very complicated for the odometry network to learn the epipolar geometry information provided by the images. In this paper, the concept of pseudo-LiDAR is introduced into the odometry to solve this problem. The pseudo-LiDAR point cloud back-projects the depth map generated by the image into the 3D point cloud, which changes the way of image representation. Compared with the stereo images, the pseudo-LiDAR point cloud generated by the stereo matching network can get the explicit 3D coordinates. Since the 6 Degrees of Freedom (DoF) pose transformation occurs in 3D space, the 3D structure information provided by the pseudo-LiDAR point cloud is more direct than the image. Compared with sparse LiDAR, the pseudo-LiDAR has a denser point cloud. In order to make full use of the rich point cloud information provided by the pseudo-LiDAR, a projection-aware dense odometry pipeline is adopted. Most previous LiDAR-based algorithms sampled 8192 points from the point cloud as input to the odometry network. The projection-aware dense odometry pipeline takes all the pseudo-LiDAR point clouds generated from the images except for the error points as the input to the network. While making full use of the 3D geometric information in the images, the semantic information in the images is also used in the odometry task. The fusion of 2D-3D is achieved in an image-only based odometry. Experiments on the KITTI dataset prove the effectiveness of our method.
