The excitation unit is the weak link in the generator operation since it produces internal deterioration under long-term operation. To evaluate the health condition of the key excitation unit and generate warning information in advance, this work proposes a health assessment method based on the Gaussian mixture model (GMM) and LSTM neural network. Firstly, the weights of each type of data will be determined by obtaining the electrical parameter data of the generator excitation unit from the SIS system, using the infrared image data of carbon brush and excitation transformer based on infrared image acquisition system, and the correlation between each electrical parameter data and temperature on account of the MIC correlation analysis method. On the top of it, LSTM neural network prediction model is established. And establish a GMM-based health benchmark model based on the data collected in the field during healthy operation, and design the health decline index HDI using the Marxist distance for evaluating the health status and deterioration degree of the unit. Finally, the method of this paper is validated by the 2022 operation data of a thermal power plant in Weihai, which proved that this method can provide a basis for regular maintenance and early identification of faults in the power plan and quantifying the degradation degree of the excitation unit under long-term operation and making early warning before the abnormal occurrence of the unit. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

ColorDynamic: Generalizable, Scalable, Real-time, End-to-end Local Planner for Unstructured and Dynamic Environments

Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) has demonstrated potential in addressing robotic local planning problems, yet its efficacy remains constrained in highly unstructured and dynamic environments. To address these challenges, this study proposes the ColorDynamic framework. First, an end-to-end DRL formulation is established, which maps raw sensor data directly to control commands, thereby ensuring compatibility with unstructured environments. Under this formulation, a novel network, Transqer, is introduced. The Transqer enables online DRL learning from temporal transitions, substantially enhancing decision-making in dynamic scenarios. To facilitate scalable training of Transqer with diverse data, an efficient simulation platform E-Sparrow, along with a data augmentation technique leveraging symmetric invariance, are developed. Comparative evaluations against state-of-the-art methods, alongside assessments of generalizability, scalability, and real-time performance, were conducted to validate the effectiveness of ColorDynamic. Results indicate that our approach achieves a success rate exceeding 90% while exhibiting real-time capacity (1.2–1.3 ms per planning). Additionally, ablation studies were performed to corroborate the contributions of individual components. Building on this, the OkayPlan-ColorDynamic (OPCD) navigation system is presented, with simulated and real-world experiments demonstrating its superiority and applicability in complex scenarios. Quadrotor-slung load transportation is an important way to transport goods, but the swing of the load bring a great deal of challenges to the stability of the system. In this paper, a barrier Lyapunov function based sliding mode controller is proposed to limit the load swing, which also satisfies the speed limitation of the quadrotor. An inner-outer loop control strategy is proposed, where the outer one is the virtual position controller which guarantees the stability of the quadrotor while eliminating the load swing, and the inner one is the attitude controller which driver the actual force to the position controller to ensure the effectiveness of the system. Specifically, the dynamics of quadrotor-slung load transportation system is reconstructed as a cascade form. Then, a barrier Lyapunov function based sliding mode controller is designed to ensure the trajectory tracking errors uniformly bounded with state constraints valid. Finally, comparative simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The manufacturing sector is envisioned to be heavily influenced by artificial-intelligence-based technologies with the extraordinary increases in computational power and data volumes. A central challenge in the manufacturing sector lies in the requirement of a general framework to ensure satisfied diagnosis and monitoring performances in different manufacturing applications. Here, we propose a general data-driven,end-to-end framework for the monitoring of manufacturing systems. This framework, derived from deep-learning techniques, evaluates fused sensory measurements to detect and even predict faults and wearing conditions. This work exploits the predictive power of deep learning to automatically extract hidden degradation features from noisy, time-course data. We have experimented the proposed framework on 10 representative data sets drawn from a wide variety of manufacturing applications. Results reveal that the framework performs well in examined benchmark applications and can be applied in diverse contexts,indicating its potential use as a critical cornerstone in smart manufacturing.

At present, deep learning technology is widely used in ship target detection in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. However, high-resolution remote sensing SAR images cover a larger area and have larger image sizes. To be able to use the deep learning model for training and testing, the image needs to be cropped to the appropriate size. In a high-resolution SAR ship image, the ship target usually takes only a small part of the whole image. As a result, only part of the cropped image contains the target, and most of the rest are background regions. This will cause a lot of computational redundancy in the model inference stage. To solve this problem, a fast candidate region extraction algorithm is proposed in this paper for ship target extraction. The algorithm consists of three parts: firstly, extract the saliency map of the SAR ship image, secondly, perform median filtering on the segmented image, and thirdly, extract candidate regions. The superiority of the algorithm was demonstrated by experiments on the AIR-SARShip-1.0 dataset. © 2022 IEEE.

Scene text detection is usually recognized as one of the fundamental challenges in computer vision and robotics. While the detection of scene text for English and Chinese has achieved great progress, Vietnamese scene text detection is still a relatively new field. In Vietnamese scene text detection, the diacritics of Vietnamese characters are often too small to be detected, making it difficult to accurately extract their features. The bounding boxes are usually placed close to Latin letters, resulting in incomplete covering for diacritics. To overcome these challenges, we propose a method of focusing on diacritics to detect Vietnamese scene text. Firstly, we propose detailed information embedding to enhance the features of diacritics. Secondly, we introduce IoU-v to allow the proposals to match the boundary of Vietnamese text instances more accurately. Lastly, in mask branch, we incorporate a diacritics feature fusion module to further enhance the features of diacritics. The experimental results illustrate the proposed method outperforms the existing approaches. The code of the proposed algorithm is available at https://***/mlmmwym/FD2VSTD.

Few-shot learning (FSL) as a data-scarce method, aims to recognize instances of unseen classes solely based on very few examples. However, the model can easily become overfitted due to the biased distribution formed with extremely limited training data. This paper presents a task specific data augmentation approach by transferring samples from base dataset to the novel tasks in an encoder-decoder paradigm, which guarantees generating semantically meaningful features. Specifically, the feature transfer process is carried out in semantic space. We further impose a compactness constraint to the generated features with the prototypes working as the reference points, which ensures the generated features distribute around the class centers. Moreover, we incorporate the cluster centers of the query set with the prototypes of the support set to reduce the bias of the class centers. With the supervision of the compactness loss, the model is encouraged to generate discriminative features with high inter-class dispersion and intra-class compactness. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms the state-of-the-arts on four benchmarks, namely MiniimageNet, TieredimageNet, CUB and CIFAR-FS. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper explores distributed neighbor selection in matrix-weighted networks, where a matrix-valued weight captures the interdependencies among agents’ states. We demonstrate the feasibility of preserving and, in certain cases, improving the convergence rate of matrix-weighted networks by having agents exclusively engage with a subset of their neighbors. Leveraging the inherent monotonicity of Laplacian matrix eigenvectors, we introduce a novel neighbor selection criterion that reduces network connections while enhancing convergence rates. Existing neighbor selection strategies often require acquiring information from all nodes before making decisions. In order to propose a distributed neighbor selection strategy for matrix-weighted networks, we establish a numerical relationship between Laplacian eigenvectors and a locally measurable metric. In essence, this paper extends prior findings from scalar-weighted networks to matrix-weighted networks.

In this paper,the entrapping control problem of discrete-time AUVs with local coordinate frames is *** achieve entrapment in arbitrarily shaped orbits and formations,we design a bearingbased leader-following framework fully in the discrete-time domain with four parts:the orientation estimation unit,estimator unit,controller unit and parameters tuning *** bearing measurements and communication information,the orientation estimation unit can estimate orientations of local coordinate frames infinite time,and the estimator unit can achieve local *** on estimation,the controller unit can drive each AUV to track the desired orbit or formation with an arbitrary *** present su±cient conditions under which stability of the overall system is proved using the theorem offinite-time stability and LaSalle's theorem for the discrete-time ***,the parameters tuning unit can calculate optimal parameters to improve overall ***,we extend our schemes to nonholonomic AUVs with unicycle ***,simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
