SSL(Semi-supervised learning) is widely used in machine learning, which leverages labeled and unlabeled data to improve model performance. SSL aims to optimize class mutual information, but noisy pseudo-labels introduce false class information due to the scarcity of labels. Therefore, these algorithms often need significant training time to refine pseudo-labels for performance improvement iteratively. To tackle this challenge, we propose a novel plug-and-play method named ASCL(Accelerating Semi-Supervised Learning via Contrastive Learning). This method combines contrastive learning with uncertainty-based selection for performance improvement and accelerates the convergence of SSL algorithms. Contrastive learning initially emphasizes the mutual information between samples as a means to decrease dependence on pseudo-labels. Subsequently, it gradually turns to maximizing the mutual information between classes, aligning with the objective of semi-supervised learning. Uncertainty-based selection provides a robust mechanism for acquiring pseudo-labels. The combination of the contrastive learning module and the uncertainty-based selection module forms a virtuous cycle to improve the performance of the proposed model. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ASCL outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of both convergence efficiency and performance. In the experimental scenario where only one label is assigned per class in the CIFAR-10 dataset, the application of ASCL to Pseudo-label, UDA (Unsupervised Data Augmentation for Consistency Training), and Fixmatch benefits substantial improvements in classification accuracy. Specifically, the results demonstrate notable improvements in respect of 16.32%, 6.9%, and 24.43% when compared to the original outcomes. Learning from Untrimmed Videos: Self-Supervised Video Representation Learning with Hierarchical Consistency

Natural videos provide rich visual contents for self-supervised learning. Yet most existing approaches for learning spatio-temporal representations rely on manually trimmed videos, leading to limited diversity in visual patterns and limited performance gain. In this work, we aim to learn representations by leveraging more abundant information in untrimmed videos. To this end, we propose to learn a hierarchy of consistencies in videos, i.e., visual consistency and topical consistency, corresponding respectively to clip pairs that tend to be visually similar when separated by a short time span and share similar topics when separated by a long time span. Specifically, a hierarchical consistency learning framework HiCo is presented, where the visually consistent pairs are encouraged to have the same representation through contrastive learning, while the topically consistent pairs are coupled through a topical classifier that distinguishes whether they are topic-related. Further, we impose a gradual sampling algorithm for proposed hierarchical consistency learning, and demonstrate its theoretical superiority. Empirically, we show that not only HiCo can generate stronger representations on untrimmed videos, it also improves the representation quality when applied to trimmed videos. Service computing techniques have achieved remarkable results in solving the cohesiveness problem of Web applications and are therefore introduced into the IoT do-main to break the trend of inlining IoT systems. However, compared with the traditional Internet, IoT has richer elements and semantic connotations, so the existing service description framework needs to be improved and extended. In this paper, we propose an ontology description framework for IoT services, design corresponding inference rules, and give a storage method for IoT services by integrating the knowledge graph technology for the strongly associated characteristics of IoT services. On this basis, an algorithm for combining IoT services based on graph planning is proposed. The experimental results show that the proposed method in this paper can provide richer entity semantics and ef-fectively improve the efficiency and success rate of IoT service composition. © The Authors.

The coarse pointing assembly (CPA), as the outer loop of the laser terminal, its tracking stability is the basis for ensuring laser communication. This paper presents the model of the CPA. Aiming at the disturbance factors in the low-speed operation process of the CPA, an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) method for the position loop of the CPA is designed based on the generalized proportional integral observer (GPIO) to achieve disturbance compensation control. Finally, simulations are carried out on the system model. The simulation results show that compared with the PID control strategy adopted, the proposed ADRC strategy based on GPIO of the CPA can effectively improve the tracking accuracy.

Object Detection Under Varying Illuminances Using the Fusion of Dual-Attention Mode and Far Infrared-Color image

The multi-scale object detection under varying illuminances is a difficult task. To deal with it, we propose a dual-attention mechanism object detection model called Dual-AttentionNet. Owing to the difference between the thermal object and background in the far infrared (FIR) images, the saliency region attention extracted from FIR images can successfully cover the thermal objects. However, sometimes, the saliency region attention cannot entirely cover the small-scale objects that are not so salient. Consequently, the segmentation attention is explored to focus on the super pixels containing the thermal objects and remove the background. Therefore, some small-scale objects missed by saliency attention can be still covered by the segmentation attention. The segmentation attention and saliency attention together form the dual-attention mechanism of Dual-AttentionNet. Additionally, the fusion of infrared and color images (FIR-color) is adopted to increase the details and contour information of objects under low illuminance. Through the dual-attention mode performed on FIR-color image (FIR-color+Dual-attention mode), the multiscale objects can be enhanced and concentrated, and the general detector in Dual-AttentionNet can detect objects with small computational efforts. Ablation experiment is conducted, and the FIR-color+Dual-attention mode greatly improves the robustness of detection compared with FIR-color, FIR+Saliency attention and FIR+Segmentation attention modes. Compared with the typical multispectral pedestrian detection models, Dual-AttentionNet yields a higher mean average precision and a lower miss rate in object detection at day and night in most cases. Moreover, Dual-AttentionNet is comprehensively tested on different FIR-color image datasets and obtains high accuracy on these examples. 3D Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) is an important part of the unmanned vehicle perception module. Most methods optimize object detection and data association independently. These methods make the network structure complicated and limit the improvement of MOT accuracy. we proposed a 3D MOT framework based on simultaneous optimization of object detection and scene flow estimation. In the framework, a detection-guidance scene flow module is proposed to relieve the problem of incorrect inter-frame assocation. For more accurate scene flow label especially in the case of motion with rotation, a box-transformation-based scene flow ground truth calculation method is proposed. Experimental results on the KITTI MOT dataset show competitive results over the state-of-the-arts and the robustness under extreme motion with rotation. © 2022, CC BY-NC-SA.

PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are a type of small non-coding RNAs which bind with the PIWI proteins to exert biological effects in various regulatory mechanisms. A growing amount of evidence reveals that exosomal piRNAs are potential biomarkers for diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases. Effective methods for the prediction of exosomal piRNAs are the foundation of piRNA functional research. In this study, we propose an end-to-end deep network for identifying exosomal piRNAs based on features learned from natural language processing (NLP) models for sequence embedding with attention mechanism. First, a benchmark dataset is constructed by processing piRNA subcellular localization annotated data and sequence data. Moreover, bagging positive unlabeled learning is applied to get the reliable negative set. Finally, we treat a piRNA sequence as a sentence and its k-mer subsequence as a token. Sequence embedding models with self-attention mechanism is designed to extract features from exosome piRNA sequences, which are used for the prediction task. Compared with three competing methods, our model achieves the best performance and reveals the key factors of exosomal piRNA sequences by the attention mechanism. Our model characterizes exosomal piRNAs and could be beneficial for researchers to investigate exosomal piRNAs' functions. © 2022 IEEE.

The uncertainty of wireless communication seriously affects the control performance of the platoon. In this paper, a model predictive control (MPC) method based on dynamic event-triggering is proposed to address the impact of non-ideal communications on multi-vehicle systems. Firstly, a hierarchical platoon architecture combining backbone layer and sub-platoon layers is proposed to achieve efficient coordination among multiple platoons, and a communication-aware control mechanism is designed for each vehicle to effectively mitigate the adverse effects of non-ideal communication scenarios. Secondly, a dynamic event-triggering mechanism is established for each vehicle, which is related to time-varying delay and random packet loss parameters, so as to effectively reduce the frequency of MPC solutions and data transmission. Additionally, based on different communication topologies, distributed model predictive controllers are suggested for backbone layer and sub-platoon layer to achieve precise and comfortable tracking. Then, sufficient conditions are provided to ensure the recursive feasibility of the MPC algorithm and the stability of the platoon system. Finally, extensive simulations are conducted, and the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in terms of control performance and low computational complexity under non-ideal communication conditions. © 2014 IEEE.

Learning to Learn Transferable Generative Attack for Person Re-Identification

Deep learning-based person re-identification (reid) models are widely employed in surveillance systems and inevitably inherit the vulnerability of deep networks to adversarial attacks. Existing attacks merely consider cross-dataset and cross-model transferability, ignoring the cross-test capability to perturb models trained in different domains. To powerfully examine the robustness of real-world re-id models, the Meta Transferable Generative Attack (MTGA) method is proposed, which adopts meta-learning optimization to promote the generative attacker producing highly transferable adversarial examples by learning comprehensively simulated transfer-based crossmodel&dataset&test black-box meta attack tasks. Specifically, cross-model&dataset black-box attack tasks are first mimicked by selecting different re-id models and datasets for meta-train and meta-test attack processes. As different models may focus on different feature regions, the Perturbation Random Erasing module is further devised to prevent the attacker from learning to only corrupt model-specific features. To boost the attacker learning to possess cross-test transferability, the Normalization Mix strategy is introduced to imitate diverse feature embedding spaces by mixing multi-domain statistics of target models. Extensive experiments show the superiority of MTGA, especially in cross-model&dataset and cross-model&dataset&test attacks, our MTGA outperforms the SOTA methods by 20.0% and 11.3% on mean mAP drop rate, respectively. © 1992-2012 IEEE.
