Based on Hangzhou Zhijiang bridge, FEA models of arch steel tower in construction and completed stages are established by using ANSYS software. Before closed and completed are considered to compute the dynamic characteristics of different structural system for arch steel tower. The results show that the wind-reduced vibration can be generated easily. It can cause some bad effect on the construction, equipments and the safety of staff. So, some proper measures should be adopted to decrease the wind-induced vibration of arch steel tower in construction and completed stages. So, some meaningful references are provided for the further research on control of wind-Induced vibration for arch steel tower. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Based on the wind tunnel experiment for aerostatic force of section model of Jianghai direct ship channel bridge of Hongkong-zhuhai-macau great bridge in its finished stage, one calculation program considering the geometric nonlinearity and aerostatic nonlinearity is prepared by using ANSYS parametric design language in order to calculate the nonlinear aerostatic response for long-span cable-stay bridges. Then, the FEA model of Jianghai direct ship channel bridge of Hongkong-zhuhai-macau great bridge in its finished stage is established to analyze the threedimensional nonlinear aerostatic stability. And the aerostatic response with different position of bridge is also calculated. The research result indicates that the aerostatic instability can not occur in Jianghai direct ship channel bridge of Hongkong-zhuhai-macau great bridge in its finished stage. And, the max torsion deformation, transverse and vertical displacements of finished stage occur in the mid-span of each span and decrease gradually near to both sides. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In view of the PC box girder transverse prestress tendon, the factors and the development of tension prestress performance affecting factors were analyzed. Experiment program of prestress tendon performance was designed. Test for steel wire and anchorage of transverse tendon were carried out. The method of predication is the key for evaluating lifetime remaining of existing bridge in bridge assessment. Improved Gray Model,which can supplement and make full use of new information in time,on the basis of Gray Theory is tried to be used here,and compared with traditional model by analysizing an engineering *** results show that the improved model can not only improve the precision of prediction,but also comply with the nature of dynamic property of bridge lifetime remaining,i.e.,as the latest inspection information updates the predication value. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Concrete beam bridge is a kind of most widely used bridge types in *** the increase of bridge constructions,accidents happen frequently during the construction stage and the service ***,it's necessary to pay attention to the safety evaluation of concrete beam bridges.A lot of researches have been conducted on the bridge safety ***,the researches always focused on the service stage (Zhang 1992),and most of the researches are on the evaluations of load bearing capacities and remaining life of ***,the whole life cycle of bridge begins at the construction stage,instead of the service ***,it's also necessary to perform research on bridge safety evaluation for construcfion *** now,researches on bridge safety evaluation for construction stage are few (Ayyub 1983,EI-Shahhat 1994,Karshenas 1994),especially conducting safety evaluation with test data in construction stage.

Time-dependent variation distribution of fire temperature for concrete hollow thin-walled pier affected by flame fluid

For the structure response of the coupled variation of air current in fire field and flame temperature space, considering the effect of air current speed as well as the interaction effect of flame space and structure height, the surrounding fire model in flame fluid field was created. The temperature of flame fluid field was calculated by using time increment iteration method. The comprehensive boundary control equation and the relation between convection heat exchange and air current speed were studied. The temperature distribution statuses of facing-fluid side and lateral-fluid side in fluid field were analyzed, the surrounding fire scene of concrete hollow thin-walled pier was studied, the coupled model of flame fluid field was proposed, the time-dependent variation distribution law of fire temperature for concrete hollow thin-walled pier affected by flame fluid was revealed. Analysis result indicates that when fire time is 120 min and air current speed is 3 m·s-1, the temperature near fire source is about 100°C higher than that at other air current speeds, the influence of air current speed on fire source temperature is nonlinear. The distribution depth of high temperature layer (higher than 500°C) on facing-fire side is only 7 cm, the outer facing-fire side concrete of hollow thin-walled pier strips easily under vertical load. Temperature on facing-fluid side is much higher than temperature on lateral-fluid side, temperature on far side of fire does not change. The distribution domains of different temperatures can be changed with the variation of air current speed in steady low fluid field, and the high temperature area on facing-fire side can be enlarged. 3 tabs, 7 figs, 28 refs.

Against the current problem of large errors in the test result of short cable force, this paper, based on energy method principle, introduces the concept of simply-supported modal participation factor. On the premise of considering the impact of such factors as flexural rigidity and boundary conditions, etc. on cable force test, this paper corrects the existing prediction models for short cable force, to provide a computational formula based on compound boundary conditions for the short cable force. Field measured data is combined to compare the prediction accuracy of the existing formulas, to draw a conclusion that the error of short cable force is almost always greater than 5% when calculation is based on simple-supported boundary conditions, and the error of short cable force is always greater than 10% when calculation is based on consolidation boundary conditions, while the error of short cable force is always less than 5% when calculation is based on the compound boundary conditions presented in this paper. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
