High performance nonvolatile organic field-effect transistor memory devices based on pyrene diimide derivative

Developing high-quality electret layer is important for the fabrication of highperformance nonvolatile organic field effect transistor memory devices(OFETNVMs).In this work,three representative aromatic diimide frameworks are employed for comparative studies as n-type doping materials for the electret layers in OFET-NVMs,which are naphthalene diimide(NDI),perylene diimide(PDI),and pyrene diimide(PyDI).When blended with polystyrene(PS)to prepare the electret layers,all the memory devices containing aromatic diimide dopants exhibited significantly improved performances compared with the undoped counterparts,indicating that low-lying LUMO energy levels of these dopants are beneficial for charge *** the devices with n-type dopants exhibited long retention times(more than 104 s)and good switching reliability in more than 400 continuous write-read-erase-read *** them,the PyDI-based memory device exhibited superior performance compared with other aromatic diimides,which achieved a memory window of 34.0 V,a trapping charge density of 1.98×1012 cm−2 along with an on/off ratio higher than *** work indicates that PyDI framework could be a new platform for the future design of n-type dopant for high-performance nonvolatile organic field-effect transistor memory devices.

First-principles study on the mechanics, optical, and phonon properties of carbon chains

Besides graphite,diamond,graphene,carbon nanotubes,and fullerenes,there is another allotrope of carbon,carbyne,existing in the form of a one-dimensional chain of carbon *** has been theoretically predicted that carbyne would be stronger,stiffer,and more exotic than other materials that have been synthesized *** this article,two kinds of carbyne,i.e.,cumulene and polyyne are investigated by the first principles,where the mechanical properties,electronic structure,optical and phonon properties of the carbynes are *** results on the crystal binding energy and the formation energy show that though both are difficult to be synthesized from diamond or graphite,polyyne is more stable and harder than *** tensile stiffness,bond stiffness,and Young's modulus of cumulene are 94.669 eV/Å,90.334 GPa,and 60.62 GPa,respectively,while the corresponding values of polyyne are 94.939 eV/Å,101.42 GPa,and60.06 *** supercell calculation shows that carbyne is most stable at N=5,where N is the supercell number,which indicates that the carbon chain with 10 atoms is most *** calculation on the electronic band structure shows that cumulene is a conductor and polyyne is a semiconductor with a band gap of 0.37 *** dielectric function of carbynes varies along different directions,consistent with the one-dimensional nature of the carbon *** the phonon dispersion of cumulene,there are imaginary frequencies with the lowest value down to-3.817 THz,which indicates that cumulene could be unstable at room temperature and normal pressure.

Black phosphorus(BP)has attracted an ever-growing interest due to its unique anisotropic two-dimensional structure,impressive photoelectronic properties and attractive application ***,the tools for bandgap engineering and passivation via covalent modification of BP nanosheets remain limited to diazonium salt and nucleophilic addition methods,so that developing new modification strategies for BP nanosheets is crucial to explore its physical and chemical properties and enrich the toolbox for ***,we report the covalent modification of liquid-phase exfoliated BP nanosheets based on a rational analysis of BP *** modification of BP is achieved via carbene,a highly reactive organic *** carbene modification improves the solubility and stability of BP *** microscopic and spectroscopic characterizations including infrared spectra,Raman spectra,X-ray photoelectron spectra,SEM and TEM were conducted to provide insights for the *** proof of the existence of covalent bonds between BP nanosheets and organic moieties confirms the successful ***,theoretical calculations were conducted to unveil the reaction mechanism of the two different types of bonds and the chemical property of two-dimensional BP.

Hierarchical ultrathin Mo(S_xSe_1-x)₂ nanosheets with tunable ferromagnetism and efficient hydrogen evolution reaction activity: towards defect site effect

Layered transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are now playing important roles in both fundamental studies and technological applications due to their special structures and rich physical properties. Here, hierarchical ultrathin TMD nanosheets based on molybdenum sulphoselenides [Mo(S_xSe_1-x)₂] with tunable ferromagnetism were synthesized by a one step hydrothermal method. In addition, the hierarchical ultrathin Mo(S_xSe_1-x)₂ nanosheets exhibit excellent composition-dependent electrocatalytic properties for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). It is considered that the intrinsic ferromagnetism and the efficient HER activity are related to the defect sites in the samples. This finding opens up a way to alter the ferromagnetism and electroactivity of layered chalcogenides by fine tuning of the composition. © The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Fabrication of nano-sized Ca(OH)_2 with excellent adsorption ability for N_2O_4

Uniform nano-sized calcium hydroxide （Ca（OH）2） monocrystal powder was synthesized from calcium oxide in a surfactant solution via a digestion method by decreasing the surface tension of the reaction system to control the growth of crystalline Ca（OH）2. The Ca（OH）2 monocrystal powder samples were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM）, high resolution transmission electron microscopy （HRTEM）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller （BET）, and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR）. The NOx adsorption ability of the samples was evaluated, and the influence of various types and concentrations of surfactants on powder agglomeration and then the specific surface area in the precipitation process were studied. The specific surface area of the samples was found as high as 58 m2/g and 92 m2/g and the particle size, 300-400 nm and 200-300 nm in the presence of 10 wt% PEG600 and 0.086 mL/L SDS at a reaction time of 5 h, respectively. The product has an exceptionally strong adsorption ability for NOx, which makes it a highly promising adsorbent for emission control and air purification.

Blue-emission(~480 nm)CsPbBr_(3) nanoparticles with ultra-small size(~2.1 nm)are synthesized using the liquid nitrogen freezing with the ligand of dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid(DBSA).Asymmetric narrow emissions at the low energy side,with the full width at half-maximum of~20 nm,are observed in solution and film at room *** spectral asymmetry is mainly ascribed to phonon vibronic replica with averaged phonon energy of~40 ***,exciting this CsPbBr_(3) nanoparticles solution using linearly polarized 6 ns pulsed laser at 355 nm,we observe polarized emission with polarization degree(P_(PL))of~7%,and P_(PL) decreases more than 20%in the vibronic ***,the P_(PL) goes to zero in frozen solutions as well as in *** we speculate the polarized emission is due to the photoinduced re-alignment of nanoparticles,and the diminished P_(PL) at the phonon side band may be due to the non-adiabatic electronic-to-vibronic *** novel phenomena from the ultra-small CsPbBr_(3) nanoparticle demonstrated in this work may provide fundamental insights into its photophysics with direct implications for optoelectronics.

Closed-loop control system design and experimental study for controlled pulse keyhole plasma arc welding

The controlled pulse waveform is newly applied in keyhole plasma arc welding process. Two additional descending slopes can guarantee stable and smooth transition of keyhole closing and opening periodically. To develop a closed-loop control system for this special welding process, the key point is the determination of system input and output variables. The averaged efflux plasma voltage during a pulse cycle is defined as the characteristic variable reflecting the real keyhole dimension. Research and experiments are conducted to explore the relationship between the characteristic variable and weld pe^Cormance. Results show that alternated peak current can significantly change the keyhole dimension and the penetration. It is proposed that the keyhole average dimension is taken as the controlled variable, and the peak pulse current value and slopes are taken as control variables.

Singlet fission(SF)has potential applications in high-efficiency photo-energy harvesting applications,but its practical application is hindered by the limited number of *** this work,we explored the bay aromatic substitution strategy for the design of new perylenediimide(PDI)based SF materials.A series of PDI derivatives with biphenyl or naphthalene units substituted at the bay posi-tions were designed and synthesized to investigate the effects of aromatic substitutes on their photodynamic *** bay substitutions do not shift the energy level of the PDI core significantly but give rise to different intermolecular coupling strengths in the thin films and affect the intermolecular SF *** transient absorption(fsTA)spectroscopy reveals that appro-priate spacing configuration from the bay aromatic substitution groups enhances the SF yields by promoting the interaction of neighbouring PDI *** exciton yields of up to 183%have been obtained from these new PDI derivatives,making them po-tential candidates in future SF-based optoelectronics.

[email protected]Heterostructures for Highly Selective Detection of Hydrogen Peroxide with an Extended Linear Range

In this study, a good core–shell heterostructure of Pt[email protected]-66 was fabricated by encapsulating presynthesized platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs) into the host matrix of UiO-66 which possesses the slender triangular windows with a diameter of 6 Å. The transmission electron microscopy images exhibited that the number of the encapsulated Pt NPs and the crystalline morphology of as-synthesized core–shell heterostructure samples had a series of changes with increasing the volume of the injected Pt NPs precursor solution. Among these samples, the Pt[email protected]sample had a good crystalline morphology with several well-dispersed Pt NPs encapsulated in UiO-66 frameworks. But there were no obvious Pt NPs observed in the Pt[email protected]sample, and for the Pt[email protected]sample, the number of Pt NPs encapsulated in UiO-66 matrix notably reduced and the metal organic framework (MOF) crystals became small and aggregated. The electrochemical measurements showed that the Pt[email protected]sample modified glass carbon electrode (GCE) presented a remarkable electrocatalytic activity toward hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) oxidation, including an excellent anti-interference performance even if the concentration of the interference species was the same as the H2O2, an extended linear range from 5 μM to 14.75 mM, a low detection limit, as well as good stability and reproducibility. The results indicate the superiority of MOFs in H2O2detection. And more importantly, it will provide a new opportunity to promote the anti-interference performance of the nonenzyme electrochemical sensors.
